The Beachcomber Hotel & Resort, Ascend Hotel Collection

All staff were very helpful, especially reception and cleaning staff. The Waterview room was beautiful, the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable and we very much enjoyed having the option to relax and dine in our room or by the water. Live music was good and we didn't find it overly busy which was a nice surprise and the wait time on food was always less than expected. It was a very relaxing weekend away, we'd love to come back.

There was no food options after the bistro has shut on the Saturday night and the gaming room was out of snacks to purchase and out of the free bar snacks so we were told to walk to the 7/11. Which we ended up doing later but it was less than ideal.

A hidden little gem located infront of the water. Stayed in a Waterview Room. 2 queen beds. Super clean. Loved the rooms especially the bathrooms. Nice and modern. Very clean. Beds were comfortable, too! It has a large pool with floaties and floating pillows for guests to use. Cabanas and pool chairs, too! A large restaurant downstairs. Convenient for families. Don't have to leave the resort. A playground for children to play in was also convenient. A short drive to The Entrance. I'll definitely come back again. Perfect for a chill, short family vacay.

The hotel was great and had everything we needed on-site. The pool area was lovely and relaxing. The meals at the bistro were excellent and served very quickly despite multiple large tables. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

The shower floors were poorly made so you had to stand in the corner to shower to stop the water going all through the bathroom. We were hesitant to go anywhere in the car as there was no allocated parking and we didn't want to lose our undercover spot. The light in the void (no window room) was left on all night and the blockout curtains didn't quite block out the light.

Wonderful staff Casey and Nathan were so pleasant… Casey who looked after the booking and my request and Nathan who answered our questions. Both were so kind and helpful. We also had some guidance by the security guard on our first night who offered us the run down for meals and ordering etc… he was so kind. We had chosen this accomodation due to location related to a family crisis and were treated with utmost respect. Hopefully will return under better circumstances for a holiday due to the staff. They are very much an asset. So we’re the bar staff and the serving staff at beachies.

Nothing could have been better in the way of service or location.

From the moment we walked into the Beachcomber, the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was a bother. The newly renovated room were exceptionally clean. There was a window with plantation shutters, but you cannot see outside or open the window, its similar to being in an internal cabin on a ship....didnt bother us at all. Beds were super soft - maybe too soft for some. Lots of pillows and extra blankets if needed. Room had very dim lighting (especially for room without window), and the vanity area near beds had no additional lighting above or on wall, so very hard to use area for getting ready. Room had iron, ironing board and safe in wardrobe and ample coat hangers. There were also plenty of power points in the room and bathroom. The bathroom was modern and clean and smelt lovely, a light over the large vanity mirror would have been a great addition. very small fridge with complimentary water and milk. didn't notice if there was tea/coffee making as might have been in lower cupboard. Dining upstairs at Beachies was great, with a wide variety of food to select and pricing similar to most pub meals. Bar menu & cocktails reasonably priced. Pool area was beautiful overlooking the lake. Parking was easy, but filled up quickly. Check-in and Check-out was simple.

Carpark had no undercover access into resort, the weather was great so had to walk in the rain with all our luggage.

Our room facing the lake was very comfortable with a great view and a nice balcony. Breakfasts, while a little on the expensive side, are excellent in both quality and choice of foods.

"The Beachie" restaurant inside the Hotel is a disappointment. While the space is generous and airy with pleasant views overlooking the lake, the food is not up to scratch and the menu is tired. Many of the items are battered and deep fried with a mountain of chips and underwhelming salads. It has the potential to be a good restaurant with a kitchen overhaul and a more considered menu.

We love Everything about this accommodation. We have stayed at Beachcomber for the past 3 weekends. We were staying in Toukley from Gold Coast because my father was gravely ill & he was in the nursing home across the road. Unfortunately he passed away whilst we were there.🙏 The staff were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC So helpful, kind & nothing was a problem to any of them. They made our stay so welcoming & they didn't even know the circumstances until we told them when we left. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, beautiful beds, so comphy, beautiful views & a great restaurant (even though they didn't really cater too well for gluten free). We would love to come back again one day Thank you 😊

Absolutely Nothing we didn't like

Nice water view with pleasant comfortable room, except for pillows.

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times since 5/6 June and have accumulated $44.28 in our booking.com rewards & wallet. We have not stayed anywhere else over this time. However, the reward is still pending well over 2 months. The note in the pending information says "These become spendable once our partners confirm eligibility usually up to 14 days". I assume the partner is Beachcomber. I spoke with the desk when last at the Beachcomber and was told that it would be looked into. Nothing transpired. I emailed booking.com and was advised that they couldn't do anything for security reasons unless I phoned their headquarter o/s. Not a satisfactory impost for such a relatively minor issue.

Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely view of pool and the lake. Could walk to local Coles supermarket and nearby Thai restaurant. The reception staff were professional and helpful.

The pool was clean and the area was lovely bit the water was way too warm. All guests we spoke to agreed. The weather was very hot and so was the pool water. The food at Beachies unfortunately was very average. There was a bar by the pool. It was only open on one of the 4 days of our stay.

Great facilities, very clean, stunning place and amazing staff. We stayed there for a night to have some fun time for my wife's birthday. They accommodated my requests and went out of their way to collect a cake that I had ordered. It mad it unforgettable stay and we will surely go back.

The only comments that may not have anything to do with the hotel is that when I was booking on booking.com I had an option to include the breakfast for $28 or pay at the hotel for the same price. I decided to pay at the hotel but when we walked in to the restaurant they said that if it wasn't booked with the hotel it would be $33 instead of $28. I suggest that the hotel management has to fix this to give right information to their guests
