The location was great for our purpose, we were there for the Cycling World Championships and the situation of the hotel was perfect. The room was large and clean and the bathroom was huge! The weather was not good so we didn't use the outside beer garden but it looked very inviting in good weather, a tip for anyone staying at the Charles, just down the road there is a huge Fraternity Club which is well worth visiting for eating or drinking. Fairy Meadow is a nice enough suburb of Wollongong and very accessible by train. We had a fantastic time due mainly to the races but the Charles Hotel added to our enjoyment.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of a chef the kitchen was closed for the first few days and when it did open the food we had was just ok. The bar is very lively and used by the locals which gives it a lot of atmosphere.

I usually take my own breakfast. Across the road from Hotel are several eateries. Food and room service are available if required. The location is close to Towradgi beach and Wollongong central. Situated on the Princes Highway, easy access in and around Wollongong. Bus route available. Local maps are available. This hotel suits my needs perfectly.

Access to rooms is via a set of stairs, which will be a deterrent for some with poor mobility. This cannot be helped due to the age of this hotel. I manage quite well by reducing my time using stairs.

I really appreciate the trouble the hotel has gone to with the accommodation renovations - they are tasteful and functional. Our party of three loved the option of having two queen beds in a very spacious room, and the beds themselves were super comfy! The shower was a good size, and strong and hot. Everything was clean and functional and fresh. The room had everything we needed. No-fuss check out and friendly staff too. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a front room. As the hotel is on the highway, there is traffic noise during the day as expected, but it’s quiet at night and we slept well. Perhaps check in could be done by coming though the front of the hotel rather than the rear?

The rooms & ensuites were very good! Very clean. Free bottled water in the fridge. Quiet. We were given a voucher for a free drink in the hotel, which was lovely.

The entrance to the accommodation from the car park is down a corridor which doesn’t look great & the view from the window is of the roof. Suggestion to the management: get some window film on the bottom half of the windows to block the view & give privacy, while still allowing the light in.

Friendly, helpful staff, especially the manager. Even though the hotel is a busy pub on the Princes Highway there was no noise from either. However, we could hear plumbing in the adjoining room.

Odd arrangement ofr chck in. When booking make sure you request a room with a window. We were initially given a room with not window, but the very helpful manager moved us to a room with a window.

I choose to stay at Nightcap now for every visit to Wollongong. The hotel is central to where I am travelling, easy to get to, very comfortable clean room, excellent beds. Bottled water is supplied in fridge, very much appreciated after travelling so far.

No complaints. Glad the Bistro is now open, however, I had no spare time to frequent the area. The parking area could do with a grading and a layer of cracker dust, however, there was plenty of room for parking on the days I travel.

Loved how clean our room and premises was presented. It was easy access to the hotel and good location for dinner options. The bed was comfortable and warm for a good sleep. Also very good shower.

Little disappointed with the position of lighting for reading in bed.

The room was very value for money - it was quiet and very comfortable. The room was a perfect size for the two of us and the bathroom was very clean. The check in process was great as we were able to pay prior to arrival which made for a very smooth process.

Great location with amazing staff who went above and beyond! They went out of their way to help my 12 year old son find bait so he could go fishing with his mate.

A little run down, but it was clean and comfortable.

The service is not bad, the waiter's attitude is very friendly, the parking outside the hotel is also more convenient, and the room is considered clean.

There is no lift, the room is on the first floor, it is inconvenient to have big luggage
