After reading many poor reviews that people had posted and after being a little worried to go on our trip, and already set in the mind that it was going to be bad, I feel I had to leave a review to say that it was quite the opposite to what I had read. Food was amazing, I've not stopped talking about most dishes since we left, staff did what they could, yes they were a little short ( as is the whole of Australia!) But not in a way that you would notice they are short unless you were looking to go out of your way to complain. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, the pool was amazing. I was honestly ready to leave a bad review before going but honestly couldn't as I never wanted to leave.

Having to leave! The food and drinks were a "little" expensive. I think even 10% less would be perfect. But as mentioned, it was all amazing and very much worth it.

This is one of the best holidays I’ve ever had. I have traveled all over the world, and if I’m perfectly honest, I was a little unsure about Daydream island as I had read a few poor reviews after I booked it.. I am here to defend the resort as I swear it was so so so amazing. Here are some of the highlights for us: - amazing pools for playing in, perfect temperatures and the swim up bar was super fun too! - best food in the Salti restaurant (also a really lovely waitress, didn’t catch her name but she had dark hair and was from Wisconsin and so wonderful to our family- I hope her boss sees this!) - amazing dining in “Infinity” for my dads birthday where all the staff came out and sang to him and made him feel really special with a great table/view of the ocean. The food and bev manager, he was so lovely, I really want to compliment the training he gives to the staff as they were ALL fantastic, I really mean it. We live in a world where service is pretty average these days and we saw the complete opposite here! - tour desk “Gabby” was mega helpful and made some great suggestions for our time here and budget- was so nice having genuine tips instead of just trying to sell us the most expensive experiences. -the breakfast buffet has a lot of options and everything was so lovely and fresh, I loved the passion fruit and pineapples, so deeelish! -we went and did a guided snorkel in the resorts Living Reef and Tiff was the best guide ever. None of us are great swimmers and have never snorkeled so she was super patient and really kind to the whole family. It was the best experience of my life! I highly recommend doing this, even if you’re an experienced snorkeler as we saw so many beautiful species and fish! -we went on the Great Barrier Reef tour and the people from the hotel to the whitsundays cruises people were so helpful and just want you to have the best holiday!

Of course there are some things that weren’t perfect, nothing is entirely perfect. But I really can’t fault the resort as they provided the best trip ever for our family!

The island was beautiful, staff were extremely friendly, nothing was ever too much for them. Staff were also very helpful in arrange day trips. Breakfast was great and there was plenty to do on the island if you didn't want to sit by the pool all day. Cocktails were amazing at the pool bar and on the whole the cost of food and drinks wasn't as high as we thought they would be.

We stayed for 5 nights which was amazing but I don't think we could have done much longer as there were only 2 restaurants on the island so started to get a bit samey. The food was excellent though!! The pool was pretty cold but not sure if that was due to the time of year we went (mid October).

Such a beautiful island in the Whitsundays! We had a nice time, the water was crystal clear and the weather tried to stay clear for us. The island its self is amazing, the accommodation is improving though still has a lot of room for improvement. No transfers from mainland included in room packages which is a hassle and an extra cost on top. We paid over $2700 for 3 nights accommodation then another $380 for the transfer over.. Food on the island is nothing special, adults basic meals are around $30 up and most of the fun activities on the island cost $$. It would be great to see some big improvements to the guest experience, they have the location, and hotel sorted, they just need a team of great staff to get it on track.

While not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradise

The rooms could've been a little fancier but it was nice otherwise

Perfect for young families and children, location is wonderful. Living reef is wonderful and water sports were great.

Not once did we get a high chair for our daughter which was clean. They all had food all over them and no doubt many germs and viruses, we were first at breakfast every morning and they were filthy. There aren't enough healthy food choices for adults and especially for children. The food was all fried or processed and my daughter became constipated. I'm lactose intolerant so neither of the salad options were available to me. Given the heat there were no water stations readily available and zero recycling on the island so ironically very bad for the environment

I absolutely loved my stay. It’s so relaxing and love the resort vibe. The breakfast inclusive was a nice touch. I had the most beautiful room overlooking the ocean. The pillows and bedding so comfortable. Dylan and staff were very accommodating and friendly. The living reef was beautiful too, I was mesmerized by the underwater observatory! The snorkeling on lovers cove was great too. And Salti restaurants servings were huge. The entrees, such great portions. We initially came for a day trip and my flights were put back 2 days so I couldn’t resist booking in to enjoy the resort. Just beautiful 🪸✨🐠🩵 Thank you!

I loved everything about it.

Fantastic breakfasts, beautiful pools and wonderful location. Great food at the restaurants with almost everything available for takeaway for a quiet night in. Excellent WiFi and extremely comfortable beds and spacious room. Housekeeping was very accommodating to our requests to just replace towels and minimise services when not really needed. Great range of day trip options available.

AC was a little noisy, but needs to run constantly. Rainforest walk isn't signed as steep and dangerous from the resort end entrance, but is from the south side of the island. Some spots of mould in the silicon in the shower but understandable it's impossible to keep everything perfect in the tropics!

Upgraded room was a lovely surprise... although I wasn't too sure if there was any difference to what I originally reserved. Breakfast was superb. Garden and facility maintenance was lovely. The restaurants near the pool had amazing food! Weather was lovely. Your Aquarium is INSANE!! (and mesmerising). I wish I took advantage of your snorkelling sessions or animal interactions.

The room's airconditioner kept cutting out randomly through the 2nd night of our stay - we had alot of broken sleep. At the time we attended, the restaurant downstairs didn't seem overwhelmed with guests for saturday lunch (unsure of staffing numbers) but unfortunately, one round of drinks were served with the ice 90% melted - I watched it sit on the bar for ages whilst the bar attendant was making more drinks. it was obvious that the bar attendant was glancing around the room to grab a waiter's attention. The first cocktail was also served close to tepid - like it wasn't shaken with ice for a long enough time or possibly rushed.

The staff were awesome and helped us with anything we needed. I felt sick the first night after the store had closed and they were more than helpful, highly appreciate it. The pool is awesome, bar is even better. The buffet breakfast was the best as well as the buffet bbq dinner, awesome variety of food. We also did jet skiing - highly highly recommend! As well as had a 1hr massage, really finished off our holiday right. Came home completely relaxed after 4 nights 5 days of nothing but eating, drinking and swimming.

Maybe need 1 more option food wise for lunch / dinner as well as maybe a buffet for lunch option too? The pool bar needed to stay open past 5pm for summer. It should be open til 7pm and have a few more snacks.
