The room is well appointed and it has a very spacious ensuite. The location is excellent, you are in walking distance to all the main attractions and restaurants in Port Douglas. We did not use the pool but we did walk past it and the pool area looked clean and modern.

Be aware there are a lot of stairs on this property and no elevator. We were aware of this prior to arriving but it was still a hassle when bringing our luggage up to the room. The room itself is a little small. The bed takes up most of the room footprint, the ensuite is almost as big as the entire room. The room could have been cleaner, there were stains on the window blinds.

The Newport is in a great location, right on the main street near the water. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. There is free covered secured parking in the hotel too. The pool looked very nice, but we didn't have time to us it. Our Queen room was on the first floor, so not many steps to climb. We had a large jacuzzi ensuite and a covered patio which I appreciated. Reception was very friendly and helpful, though you will need to phone him if he's not there.

The room was a little small so we didn't have much room for our second suitcase.

This is a very clean, well maintained complex with a friendly, approachable manager. We checked in after hours and this process worked well.

The main problem we had was not directly to do with the complex however, while the location was super convenient for markets, shopping and restaurants, the noise from Central Hotel at night was not great. The apartment has thicker glass to the bedroom which did help however, there were bands in the front of the hotel and this was quite noisy. We spoke to the Manager and he was going to resolve this with the owner of the bar.

We enjoyed the central location with secure basement parking. The pool and surroundings exceeded expectations and was heated to a comfortable temperature. We liked the easy 24 hour key access from the street and having a spa in our bathroom.

The outdoor area for our room 208 was a good size but lacked any view and was rather dark. The table and chairs in this area lacked a power point for our laptop and, not the fault of the hotel, we only had one key so we had to leave and return at the same time.

Everything. The location is perfect in accessing everything you need. The service is super friendly and accommodating. Being an adults only venue, even though it was off peek, can imagine it will be a great environment when busy. The room was clean and great design, enjoying a balcony on both sides. The pool is lovely and receives unexpected shade over the pool in the afternoon. will definately be booking there again.

Patrick the host was very friendly and helpful. He moved me into a ground level for at my request at the last minute and helped carry my suitcase up and down the stairs. The pool was amazing to swim in and relax by. The location is great- 10 steps out of the property and I was in a cafe for breakfast and receiving a massage next door! Although my room was small, it had an incredible bathtub- my favourite part of the room!

I didn’t realise when booking that there was no lift at the property. The ground level floor didn’t have much natural light, but I chose to stay in that room for to knee injuries so I can’t complain!

Comfortable bed and room size.

The beds didn’t get turned down and we had to take our own rubbish to the bin. I’ve travelled all over Australia and to a number of different countries around the world and never had to remove my own rubbish. I was actually quite surprised by this, and it came across as laziness of hotel staff/management. When you take a holiday, it’s for resting and relaxing. That’s why we pay for it.

Check in was easy, quiet room but central location,loved being able to walk out and eat, pool was great, liked to be able to use books, availability of washing machine and cutlery and crockery in room

Coat hook on back of door for coats would have been useful as wardrobe was small. Lighting in bathroom was difficult for putting on makeup. (Pick up for return journey didn’t go to plan - voucher emailed to us said 7:30, minibus arrived at 7:15 and went without us, but we managed to contact the co. and get collected in time for our flight. 45min delay. Driver said there was no 7:30 trip, only 7am?)

The Newport on Macrossan is located on the Main Street in Port Douglas surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Pat was friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to help us out after my son left his glasses behind. Our room was quiet at night. The pool and seating area were lovely during the hot days. The apartment was stocked with all that we needed. I'd definitely stay there again.

The apartment was nice and clean. Great location. The pool area was nice. They had a great range of books and magazines that you could borrow.

There were a lot of stairs as we were on the top level. It would have been good to have more bench space in the bathroom and kitchen. There was a bit of noise coming from the pubs close by.
