The restaurant was superb - the best Reuben sandwich I've had in Australia - thick with meat and sauerkraut. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. And the self-serve breakfast had better coffee (plunger!) than anywhere else I've stayed.

The music from the kitchen, which was right below our room, was VERY ANNOYING. And when my husband complained at 9:30 and they said they'd turn it off, it stopped for around 30 seconds and then didn't end until 10PM. We were tired from a long day travelling and to have to put up with this sort of spoiled our stay. But the property otherwise was really great. So don't let them put you in room 1!

Property had a lovely guest sitting room which had tv, fridge, microwave, and water kettle. Good place to chill or have dinner. The room was simple yet adequate, bathroom was clean, hot water worked fine, heaters in room and bathroom worked, handsoap had nice fragrance. Deloraine is a beautiful quiet town

Breakfast selection is a little limited. Property and furniture were dated. No lift access to upper floor, though you can drive up the slope to access the back door on second floor (if only we knew this beforehand). Room had a strange metal fixture on the floor which was a major tripping hazard, not sure what purpose it served but we had to constantly cover it so we won’t get hurt by it.

We liked the central position of The Empire Hotel in the main street of Deloraine. The hotel had a lot of character and with a restaurant and a bar it was busy and had a good vibe. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful and Marc, the owner , even took a bunch of guests to the river to spot platypus. We were not disappointed and saw several and Marc was a wealth of information on them .....it was very informative and fun. We had a good dinner in the restaurant and in.the morning we helped ourselves to a continental breakfast in a large period room where we met other travellers and shared stories. The bed was very comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Would stay here again.

Our room was at the front of the hotel and so on the main road through Deloraine. The traffic and trains could be heard in the evening and early morning. It was part of staying in a centrsl location and I'd still stay there again.

Staff were amazing, the work I was doing in the area had me finishing quite late so I arrived around 8.45pm. The rallied up some tucker for me and enjoyed a nice cold beer at the bar. It is like stepping back in time visiting these little towns in Tassie, Love it. I had a little visitor drop in early in the morning while I was in the shower. Needed some help finding the window but he left in the end. See Pictures

I hated the fact I only had one night and day in Deloraine, it is beautiful and would love to have had time to look around.

Our room was compact, fairly well laid out and in the middle of the main street of Deloraine. The hotel is steeped in history and a beautiful old building. Breakfast was included and fabulous, it was continental, help yourself brekky, served in a large drawing room filled with period furniture and we had the opportunity to chat to other guests while eating.

We did like our room, it had been fitted with a galley ensuite and you have to walk through the shower area to get to the toilet which is fine until someone uses the shower and then it becomes necessary to dry the floor with the towels to prevent a slip or fall. A TV in the room would have been great.

Hosts Amanda and Mark are very welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was everything we wished for. The restaurant served individually prepared dishes to a high standard. Mark is an authority on the diverse wild life of the area and in particular takes a group every evening to look for platypus in the nearby river - well worth doing.

Not a lot not to like - the hosts do their best to ensure their guests have an enjoyable stay..

Love love loved this venue! Warm and welcoming staff, very clean and comfortable room with plenty of room for the three of us. And best of all, a lovely communal lounge room with a fire, a TV with movies and a complimentary breakfast that we weren't expecting. Lovely to sit in this warm and welcoming room and have an easy dinner and a glass of wine in the evening and then a complimentary breakfast the next morning. Thank you Empire Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you. 🥰

Good value for money, in a convenient location, and with car parking. The bedroom was sparkling clean and bed was comfortable. The pub and restaurant below were great. It was also good to have breakfast available, although very basic. There is a common area to sit, stay, play a board game if you like, and make yourself a cup of tea, which gives the opportunity to chat with the other guests. It makes you feel at home.

A bit noisy at night because of the pub below, as we were there on a Friday. Our bedroom only had a small window in the bathroom that didn't open, so it was a bit dark and unventilated. Also, no door between the bathroom and the room, so not much privacy. We kept our door open to the corridor to ventilate a bit, which helped, and used a common toilet in the corridor for the number 2 thing. Those small inconveniences were ok for us as I felt all the important things were covered, so it didn't bother us.

Overall great vibe with a friendly mix of guests. We had a private room and bathroom and the room was comfortable and clean and even had heated blankets. Good options for breakfast and a nice common room where we were able to watch TV. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic.

The bar/restaurant in the hotel played music that we could hear in our room. We were going to bed fairly early, so it was a little disruptive, but I think they turned things off at a reasonable hour. Once the music was off, the area is very quiet and we slept well. It was challenging to find any staff after hours (or even in the mornings before the cafe opens at 10).

Old style hotel. Clean, nice bathroom even though mine was next door to my room. Lovely big lounge dining area to help yourself to breakfast or drinks. Good location. Nice dinner downstairs..

My room was very small but I did have the budget room so that was fine, but it meant no cupboard or place to put my bag other than on the floor. Bathroom was next door, but you could pull a curtain in the hallway for privacy.
