We liked the apartment, and the little balcony. The location, between the waterfall and the Tamar river, was very pleasant

Breakfast wasn’t available in Penny Royal on Thursday so we had to walk down to Kingsbridge. We liked our apartment but found it very frustrating having to walk up and down the staircase from the carpark. The gate leading to the inner area of Penny Royal was padlocked, so while we could take the lift up there we still had to walk up and down the stairs to our apartment, not easy carrying luggage when suffering from painful knees

I liked the oldly wordly look of the place from the outside. Clean room and comfortable bed.

It was difficult to find the room when arriving after hours. We were left a map However the complex was split in two. Where we picked the keys up was not where our room was but 330 metres up the road It can be difficult when arriving late. We left our cases in the car only taking our toiletries and change of clothes as there were a lot of stairs and as we were only staying there overnight, didn't seem worth taking the cases up I did see a lift so I'm sure it would be fine.

The minute you entered for check in the staff were very friendly and nice. They make you feel comfortable and provide you with all the information not only about the hotel but about the places you could visit if something you've missed online. The room was impeccably clean and had all the amenities that you wanted. The bedroom was isolated from the living room in the apartment we stayed in and made our stay perfect. The waterfall next to it just gave it a good vibes and it's turned off at night so that you don't get disturbed. Highly recommend.

There's nothing much to complain about.

The shower was great. Tv allowed you to log into your Netflix etc accounts. Even though there was a big gap under the door, closing the solid door wood blocked out a lot of traffic noise.

The blinds did not shut properly and there was a flood light shining up at our window. Even with a towel over the blind the light was intrusive. The mattress hadn’t been turned. Obviously everyone lies next to the bedside clock and there was a very significant dip when you lay there and mountain on the other side where it doesn’t get used so much. There was building work to install a lift and other repairs, removing part of the parking and access to rooms. We were able to get a park, but it was the last one.

The apartment was excellent. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms were great. It was only serviced on the last day of or stay of 5 days which I thought was silly to change beds etc for 1 night.

The location was an issue, not expecting to walk a further distance uphill and then 31 steps to get to our room. Fortunately we were both able to do this although aged 75 and 78 years of age. Maybe my fault that I didn't read the info on line correctly but possibly could have been explained better.

The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious and had lots of room, The beds are really comfy and it had a decent shower or a bath if you have young children. It was a 10min walk to woolies to collect anything we wanted for dinner/lunches. Our rooms were right next to the adventure park which looked fabulous and the younger kids would love hanging out there.

There were a lot of stairs you had to drag your bags up to get to your room. No Lift? This would not be good for any families with disabilities. It was really quiet next door so the restaurant's were closed till later, so no late lunch. We had to check in down the road and then return to the apartments (2 different properties but 1 reception)

The room was well set up and the bed comfortable, and the spare blankets were appreciated. The bathroom was spotless, and the room was very quiet and super close to everything we needed - walking distance to wonderful restaurants and shopping. Onsite carparking was an advantage as well.

I know the room is set up for a maximum of 3 people, but it would have been nice to have more than 3 teaspoons, 3 cups, etc. The cutlery was a little old and battered about - a refresh would be good.

What an exceptional and incredibly lovely place. We stayed for one night and found the room was perfectly clean, albeit quite compact, but it worked for us. We went to Alida Restaurant and I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had anywhere in the world. The wait-staff were incredibly courteous and professionally obliging. The food was amazing, I really can't do it literal justice, just try the crumbed oysters and you'll know what I mean! I will be recommending this place to absolutely everybody I meet. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Ground floor which was good for my age

When I turned off the lights my TV went off too. I got caught by putting my phone on charge, overnight and when I got up in the morning, I found out I had no charge on my phone. I had to turn the lights on before the power came back on in my unit. I was also woken up through the night with a loud crack noise. I couldn't tell if the noise was coming from the fridge, or perhaps something in the ceiling, in between the kitchen and bathroom.

Not really an issue for us, but atm some Reno’s to pub side of accom (new stairs etc ) not very much noise but just had to manoeuvre a few stairs to get luggage to room etc. not an issue for us but if your elderly or not able to navigate stairs you may want to double check with staff room options etc
