The location could not be better, located on the Yarra river in Southgate and being a very pleasant walk across the Princess bridge to the CBD. The rooms were very good and appear to have been recently refurbished, with the added benefit of a balcony and open windows for fresh air. We had a separate lounge area along with a kitchen area off the lounge. You did not feel cramped in and had lots of space to move around. The staff were very receptive in all parts of the hotel.

The buffet breakfast could have had more choice. The bar and beer garden needs an upgrade. Though it is clean and tidy, it is out of date (early 2000's). It would add to the hotel's overall ambiance.

Phenomenal hotel -- exceeded expectations! Upon arrival, we got a free upgrade to a superior one-room suite. It was huge, especially for center city Melbourne! (I've stayed in several hotels in Melbourne's CBD, and this room was by far the biggest and nicest.) Beds are super comfy. Rooms are very quiet. Our room had a full kitchen, in-room laundry (very convenient!), living room, large balcony (complete with a table for dining and sufficiently big for a morning workout), large bedroom with a comfy bed, and large bathroom. Staff were really accommodating (willing to let us store our stuff for multiple days while we were hiking). Included breakfast was very nice and efficient, complete with a DIY avo smash bar. Didn't have time to visit the gym (or the sauna / spa) since it didn't open until 6:30 am and we need to leave early, but I expect it's nice given how nice the rest of the hotel is! The location couldn't be better either. SMACK in the center of the whole city. Highly accessible to all major sites, lots of public transportation, etc. Would definitely recommend to stay here. It's going to be my future #1 choice for my return trips to the city!

Only tiny suggestion would be to make the gym 24/7 so that those with early departures could use it before they go. :)

Wonderful in every way. Ideal location. Quiet but 5 min across the bridge to the CBD. Beautiful asthetically inside and excellent service. Very comfortable and delux 1 bd apartment with verandah had everything you could want and more. Very clean and quality appointed. Bed very comfortable and veranda view gorgeous. Could air con. Excellent shower. 3 blind/curtain coverage for good darkening when wanted. Very quiet inside. Good TVs and vision choices. Beautiful heated Pool, Spar, Sauna and Gym!! Best place we have ever stayed!!!!!!! The restaurant meal there was also great and their breakfasts were awesome in choice and quality… as all you can eat I didn’t want to stop eating 🤣

Location right at the heart of Southbank, easy parking within the hotel apartment itself (very secure I must say), clean facilities, very comfortable and sufficient breakfast. We felt really right at home. Staff were on 24/7, which is great and very helpful too. Kudos to all Quay West Suites reception team!

Breakfast menu can be quite repetitive nevertheless sufficient. Housekeeping team varies; some did an excellent job some left stuffs behind untouched. Parking area is a bit tight space, mindful that there are residents living in the apartment as well so park according to the instructions. Though from outside looks a bit tired so abit of facade work should be done I feel :)

We were given a complementary upgrade to our room on arrival. The staff were attentive, helpful and professional. We enjoyed the pool, spa and sauna, all of which were clean and well maintained. The room was clean and well dressed and had a beautiful view across the river to the CBD. We had a show booked at Hamer Hall which was literally outside the hotel foyer. We enjoyed our dinner at the Jarrah restaurant and the breakfast the following morning was lovely. We had planned a day in the city and the reception gladly accomodated our request to hold our bags after we had checked out.

Minor nit-pick that the bed was too soft and the pillows were too big for my liking. There was a bit of confusion in the morning at the barista station with the coffees we ordered. However, the staff member approached us politely to ensure we were served the correct drink (a minor opportunity for improvement of the coffee ordering structure and training). Overall we had a genuinely positive experience :)

From the moment we walked in the reception staff greeted us with a smile and were outstanding! When we entered the room we both said ‘Wow’. The views were amazing, the property was well presented and of a high cleanliness standard. When we required assistance from housekeeping they were friendly and helped immediately. During our stay we asked for directions and suggestions of places to visit and, once again, the reception staff were spot on and we had a great experience. Thank you

That we couldn’t stay longer…

The room was very spacious, and WOW to the view, such a great view of the river and the city. Night time light was fantastic. The staff was very accommodating with my request of a bathtub for my son, it was very much appreciated on my back. The accommodation was on the right side of the road, (we usually stay at Mantra across the road, and always had to cross the windy road). New Quay West is is right next to the food court, about 1 minute walk to some food. Bed was also very comfortable, one big bed (When staying at Mantra it was two single beds pop together, made it uncomfortable)

On the Thursday night, I am not sure if there was an event, there were some loud noises/music coming through the bedroom, which woke up my son. The drive to parking is quite steep and narrow.

Our room was excellent. Very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was good though we didn't use it as we were only there for 2 nights and preferred to eat out. Breakfast was very good. Spa and pool were both very good.

Some basic supplies in our room like a complimentary jug of drinking water and ice in the freezer would have been a nice touch. Mini bar was pretty overpriced. For the cost, I would have preferred the streaming apps on the TV were available for guests to use their own log in accounts and access something more than regular national TV.

We loved that even though it was tucked away, it was still walking distance to everything, like the MCG which was the reason we were there.(To watch the Bledisloe Cup match)It was also near all the restaurants, the casino and shopping. The rooms were spacious and clean, but best of all was Malcolm:). Malcolm welcomed us with a smile and warmth that made our stay extra special. His accent was also wonderful to listen to ☺️In the morning, when we checked out, the staff on duty were also very friendly and nice. As we were heading to our car, one of them came looking for us, as the cleaners had found my gold earring when cleaning out our room. Was grateful they were able to find it before we left. All in all, a wonderful first time experience at the Quay West Suites, and definitely will not be the last. Thank you.

Prob the only issue was the narrow drive into the parking area. Having a family van made it even more difficult.

The staff were wonderful! We received an upgrade upon arrival, which was nice. Location was great!

The room looked like it had a party in it once before. Holes repaired in the walls. Marks and liquid spills on walls. Door to verandah didn't lock. One chair was broken, marks on the kitchen drawers. Vent in the bathroom missing its cover. Breakfast was disgusting and didn't allow for children. We ended up getting uber breakfast as it just wasn't worth our time going downstairs. Just didn't feel like the room was worth the money. Bed was very uncomfortable!
