Excellent location. Bed was very comfortable. Only a short walk to Riverside Quay cafes/shopping. Close to Crown Casino.

Some of the hotel was being refurbished during our stay so a lot of construction activity around reception area daily and very limited room service food choices available - only snacks like packet chips, chocolates, etc. Washing machine/tumble dryer available on a different level for an extra charge of $3/load but no card payment facilities so have to ensure you have correct change as no change available at reception. No clothes drying racks available from reception for clothing that cannot be tumble dried.

Clean, comfortable, quiet (if you’re not in an adjoining room which has just a door between - we heard noisy children late at night and had to ask to be moved). Very nice location and walking distance to many attractions. Front reception staff always welcoming and friendly. Room had nice sofa, dining table and chairs, kitchenette. Nicely carpeted. Bathroom lovely and had hairdryer, shampoo etc plus several white and new towels. Very nice.

There was no dishwashing liquid, sponge, tea towel. I actually brought my own tea towel and bought the other items at supermarket as we need to be able to wipe surfaces and wash up, especially as crockery and cutlery limited. Had to request room to be serviced; only needed tea bags and bins emptied but were surprised it didn’t happen when we were out most of each day.

We booked in Friday 22nd & Saturday 23rd. Each Night was 158.94 , This was charged separate We had breakfast on Saturday for 2 people only, This was charged on our creditcard 40.56 we think. Then when we booked out 230.89 was charged. Can we know what the break down of this is, we feel that we have paid for an extra breakfast???? We had to pay for parking but, I think this was in the 230.89 and then we had another $30.42 get charged after we left. Can we pkease have a recipt sent to explain costs??? Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We were offered an early check in on our arrival as the room as ready. Loved having a checkout of 11am which allowed more lazy time on the Sunday morning. Fantastic location. The room was larger than we expected and incredibly clean. Facilities were great - probably one of the better showers I’ve had in a hotel! Wilson’s carpark literally within 200m walk.

Would have been good to be notified of the fact there are planned renovations at the hotel, during the booking process. We didn’t realise until we arrived.

The central location was fantastic, my room was very comfortable with all that I needed. Great shower and comfy bed. The view overlooking the Yarra River and the city was amazing from my room. The Mercure is very close to all the fabulous restaurants in Southbank so just a short walk for dinner and drinks, it is also very central to the city, so also a short walk across the bridge to Flinders Street for some great breakfast spots. The staff were happy to stow my luggage for the day without any problems as my flight was not until late in the day, they were all very helpful. I will stay again.

Great walking access to everything on Southbank, Trams, Federation Square and Flinders Street Station. Staff were extremely helpful. Rooms are a little dated but a good size and comfortable. Breakfast is a great deal.

The air-conditioning resets itself every 2hrs back to 23° no matter what temperature you set it to. Becomes very uncomfortable when you go out during the 30° plus days or overnight. Staff and maintenance tried to fix it in 2 rooms we stayed in but seems to be programmed that way. Breakfast needs some lactose free alternatives added e.g poached or fried eggs, as well as the scrambled, lactose free yoghurt and milk. There's no ice available on site for drinks etc.

It comes down to Price and location, I hope it maintains its affordability for people that don't have much money to stay in a 5 star hotel but having to stay in the middle of the city is like a five star without the hefty cost. I have stayed here many times before because it made it affordable by Travelodge. Thank you for looking after us during our stay. I highly recommend it.

We had to queue up for a long time to be checked in , it was the Ed Sheeran concert night. It was almost 30 mins before we got attended and it went on for the next 2.5 hours. There has to be a better plan for this kind of situation in the future.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Our location was great. We were going to see Phantom of the Opera….it was a short walk to venue. Room was attractive, clean, and bed very comfortable. It was great to be able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checkout and to pick it up after the show. Breakfast was very nice, plenty of variety and the restaurant clean and comfortable. Would definitely book in for another stay when heading, into Melbourne.

It would have been nice to have tea towel, detergent, sponge for use in kitchenette area as I like to wipe down bench area, microwave etc. if needed and leave cups washed and dried prior to departure. Understand that not everyone does this, however, I’d like to have that choice.

We had a show on at Hamer Hall so the location was perfect - a five minute walk. It was literally a one minute walk to beautiful restaurants along the riverside. The car park was in the Eureka building right next door. We had breakfast included with our package and it was absolutely delicious and a magnificent variety. Will definitely stay there again when we attend shows at Hamer Hall, Arts Centre, NGV etc

Nothing really. Couldn't work out the tv, but that's just showing our age! Older style hotel but perfectly clean and comfortable.

Exactly the best position for my visit.

Checking in was very poor, 2 desks, 1 desk with 2 girls doing I don’t know what for 10 minutes and the other desk 1 male and 1 female( not there for half the time) in the 20 minutes I was there 3 customers checked in. Customers queued out into the street. I don’t think that the renovations were to blame but it was very inefficient. I also tried to phone reception 5 times to book a spot for breakfast, no answer.
