location and room itself

Stayed in room 4 first level. Room above was extremely loud when someone was walking around and having a shower.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of Observatory Guesthouse. Our daughter lives in the area so we visit very frequently but her house is too small to accommodate us. Over a 10 year period we have stayed at about 20 different hotels from Busselton down to Yallingup. The prices are outrageous. We stayed at Cape Lodge when it cost $600, & now it costs $1000! To find a nice place to stay for $163 is miraculous, almost unbelievable. And our room & bathroom, even the outside deck were very clean. No mold in the bathrooom! Yeah.

Brown street is very noisy at night. Possibly worse in room 1 where we were. I don’t like wearing earplugs, but it was thoughtful of them to provide them in the room. We were awoken by loud passing cars several times during the night. It was the first time I ever stayed anywhere and never saw a single staff person. I understand that’s the way of the future, but it still feels a bit odd.

Nice room, very clean. Fresh milk and cold water in the fridge. Good choice at breakfast which is self service. Range of bread products, cereals, yoghurt, fresh juice, jam, honey and Vegemite. Coffee machine, microwave and toaster in the kitchen. Excellent location. Clean and comfortable, would recommend.

Liked everything about the accommodation. Good communication from the owner, very thorough instructions on how to access the building. Simply a great place to stay.

Pretty much everything.

Minor things took the edge off. Telephone staff was not very helpful, with not great English. No peanut butter for what was otherwise a good breakfast. Wrong coffee pods provide so no coffee for breakfast. Mismatched wineglasses in bedroom (one plastic, the other glass) gave a cheap feel. These things were a pity in what was otherwise a really nice stay, especially when they were so easily rectified.

Walking distance to beach and shops. Clean and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely

Self check in instructions provided regarding how to get into the property and room were very confusing and when we rang for help the first time, the guy’s instructions didn’t help at all. Wasn’t until we rang the second time after trying for a bit that we got the proper instructions from a lady that got us into our room successfully. Also, door handles would help on both sides of the doors to close and open doors more easily

Smart accommodation with good quality furnishings, the pillows being especially comfortable. Good choice of items at continental breakfast, which was completely self service (we didn't see any staff during our stay). Each room had its own table in the dining room. Easily walkable to sea front, pier, and places to eat.

I found the electronic entry system a bit tricky on arrival, but got used to it!

Easy access to the room, which was spacious and well-appointed. Parking right outside and a great location for the town and the jetty. Highly recommended.

Very confusing check-in system. Room given location, name and two different numbers, which didn't match actual arrangements. Could easily be sorted out by rewriting the check-in instructions! Also access to the breakfast room is not as the instructions.

Cleanliness.... size of room No 5..... location.... brekky supplied..... everything worked. The size of the room and the king size mattress was a bonus. The brekky was adequate to start you off for the day. The shampoo etc and shower caps were great.

The decking on the approach to the entrance was breaking up and a dangerous hazard at the end near the driveway. The fan in the bathroom had not been cleaned in a long time and created a bad impression for something so easy to fix. We would liked to have met the owners and chat at brekky time as in every other B & B we have stayed at.

Great location, nice room

Didn’t respond to my request that we have breakfast early as had to leave before 8 It was self check in and locked boxes were confusing as no longer used Had TV problems but when looked up to see about getting sorted it said there was a number to call if urgent so didn’t call Overall great location nice place and clean just some communication would be nice

We expected the Accommodation to be a little awkward (being a guesthouse; sharing common areas with other patrons), but it exceeded our expectations! Check in was seamless, and no hassles. The room was lovely! The bed was HUGE!! and comfy. Cold water in the fridge. Beautiful location and quick walk to the social hotspots of Busselton. Will definitely stay again.

The shower curtains smelled “funny”. Cleaning products perhaps?
