The Guesthouse Vienna

I have reviewed this for our later stay. We split our stay into 2 x 2 nights as we visited Budapest in between and the hotel kindly held our suitcases between stays making it so much easier to pop over to Budapest for a couple of days. Much appreciated. Again - the location is superb and the room wonderful. The view of the Opera from the window seats was beautiful. We felt immersed in Vienna. And even though we never booked breakfast in advance and the restaurant was busy, they always found space for us.

Nothing. I loved it.

It's close to being the perfect hotel. Location is frankly perfect, a few minutes from the very centre and from the Hofburg Palace. Staff are truly wonderful and very welcoming. Much of the in room mini bar is included in the price, including 4 bottles of wine a day. Yes, you read that correctly! They actively encourage you to bring the wine to the restaurant or terrace at the front. How wonderfully civilised. Bathrooms are large and well equipped, and everything is spotlessly clean. It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Breakfast can be pricey. WiFi can be a little unreliable. Fine for streaming movies but not music, go figure. But honestly, there's little at fault, and the hotel will make any stay in Vienna a memorable one.

The location of the hotel was very central, the early communication was excellent, advising on restaurants and making bookings. We were able to get into the room early which was a bonus. There were always plenty of staff on hand at all times. We had breakfast in the hotel which was excellent. It was my partners special birthday and they sent a cake up for him. The window seat overlooking the opera house was worth the extra and we enjoyed the inclusive wine. The shower was really powerful and the quality of the fittings were very high. We wanted for nothing.

There was nothing not to like.

Where should I begin? I have previously stayed at this hotel and I was impressed by their services, their kindness and how client-oriented they are, but this time they surprised me in a big way. When we arrived, my mother had the hangers with the coats and I took the luggage out of the car, and when we entered the hotel, a very kind woman from the reception jumped out and took the hangers from my mother and another coleague of hers took my bags. They remembered our names and as we checked in, they were all smiles.. then they told us they have a surprise for us and we are receiving an upgrade from our Deluxe Double Room (I recommend to take it with a view). We were very impressed until we arrived in the room which was the Maisonette Suite ! OMG ! WOW ! The suite was so beautiful but the view was mind blowing.. I even told my mother that she put the world at my feet and I put Vienna at her feet :D They really surprised us in such a special way since I was having a difficult period in my life. Everything was wow, mindblower, extraordinary. I also recommend the breakfast at the Brasserie&Bakery, they are so client oriented and kind, and smiling and the food is wow.. I recommend Egg Benedict and fried bacon :) So if you want the best that Vienna has to offer, and a home away from home, this is the right hotel ! Oo, and I forgot to mention that all over the hotel and in the rooms, there are always fresh flowers..

I loved everything about this hotel.

This is a great hotel for location……2 minute walk to main shopping street…..opposite Albertine…..round corner to the Sacher hotel….minutes from the opera house….I think you get my drift? The room was excellent with lovely walk in shower in bathroom and separate toilet facility…..nice sitting area to rest in with a well earned tipple…..bed very comfortable. Hotel restaurant is very busy so better to book for breakfast/lunch/dinner so as not to be disappointed….good varied menu for breakfast which is from 6.00am to 6.00 pm…..lunch /dinner menu from 11.00am to 11..00 pm again varied both in cost and content.

I can honestly say that there was nothing we did not like about this hotel…..ticked all the boxes as far as we are concerned.

Excellent location, one is only a short 5-10 minute walk from most of the major attractions downtown (State Opera, Stephans Platz, Ring Strasse, Sacher Hotel, shopping, Albertina Museum, Spanish Riding School, on and on. It was also directly across the street from a small traingular park with trees so one feels a bit "out of the way" in their room and not right in the middle of a street, so the best mix of both worlds, centrally located with a private feel.

No parking on site. There is below ground public parking which was clean and safe and easy to use, but, it still means a walk with luggage too and from the hotel. Not a deal breaker by any stretch.

This is a beautiful mid-century hotel. The room, bathroom, restaurant and hotel are new and of the highest quality. I have stayed at several Four Seasons and this is a better hotel. Also hotel stocks the fridge daily with good Austrian wine, juice, sodas, mineral water all free of charge. Guests are invited to take the wine to the hotel restaurant for no charge. The restaurant is also excellent with beautiful indoor and outdoor dining. Cuisine is imaginative, fresh and healthy. I should also mention that the staff are wonderful. Very friendly and provide great service.

Only minor issue was air conditioning in one room. It struggled a little bit but the weather was very hot. The other room was fine

We love the location and the mini bar! We stayed two nights and visit all the sites we planned only by foot. Albertina museum and opera house are opposite the hotel, and musikverein, hofburg and churches are less than 20-mins walk away. Most of the drinks in the minibar were for free. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us suggestions of where to visit and a detailed map. By the way, the food was nice in the a la carte restaurant at ground floor. The breakfast was not included in the room price but affordable, around 10 euros for a dish. The atmosphere was chill.

Best hotel room I have experienced in all of my travels! Very large with a sitting area, walk-in closet, spacious bathroom with soaking tub and rain shower. Tasteful Scandinavian/Mid-Century Modern decor, bed very comfortable, great views looking out on a park, appreciated the cozy window seats and selection of books provided. Excellent location in the heart of Vienna. Has a “hip” vibe. Staff very helpful.

Very small entry into the hotel, often crowded with restaurant patrons. Housekeeping service was not as timely as desired.

The Staff were absolutely outstanding, helpful and friendly. The Rooms were very comfortable and spacious for a downtown accomodation. The location was extremely good to Rach the Opera House and all attractions around the Stefansdome area - less than 15 minutes on foot to almost every where in the Downtown areas.

The Wifi Service was sub-standard and extremely slow. If this were not the case the overall experience would have been a smasher! Also the elevator was quite slow at times - we had to a long wait several times. Though this was not a killer criteria - more a well-meant suggestion to the hotel management.
