Breakfast and the size of the bed.

We did not like the fact that when we arrived at the hotel we had to wait for about half an hour because "the manager needed to validate the cleanliness of the room". Please note that we arrived after 4pm. The same was happening to all other guests that were arriving at the same time. Additionally the lady at the reception was not polite and had a bad attitude.

I value reviewers feedback when making hotel selections so hopefully this will help others in choosing. In short a superb hotel, in an excellent location. Slightly out of the traditional tourist spots but perfectly so and literally minutes walking into the main central area. Fabulous spot for cafe culture, art and restaurants. Bedrooms were clean, spacious and very well appointed, the beds substantial and very comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and reception staff attentive and super helpful with excellent local knowledge and recommendations. Many reviewers have commented on the amazing breakfast - absolutely agree - worth adding to your booking, saving the need for any lunch. The options are extremely varied (children and adults alike will be enthralled by the DIY waffle making and toppings station alone!), numerous tea and coffee options including takeaway cups and the different stations are consistently refreshed by the attentive catering team. All in all I would highly recommend, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for many years.

Loved the location, it's about a 5-7 minutes walk to the Grand Place. So while still in the center, it's actually a bit more quiet. We slept with open window and it was great. There is a small candy cart near reception. Loved getting some fruit gummies every time we entered. Great service at reception, they called us a taxi to the train station and got us coffee while we waited.

The room was prepared for one person, accept for the towels. But no second pair of slippers, no vanity set etc. We asked for that at reception the next morning and got everything we needed. But we also asked to get the fridge fixed, because it was making loud noises. They repaired it by unplugging it. There was mold on the shower ceiling and no obvious ventilation to switch on. I mean there must have been anyways, because the steam disappeared eventually.

The NH Collection Grand Sablon Hotel is situated in an attractive square that includes several very good restaurants. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was well-designed, and everything in it worked well. There was an excellent choice of food for breakfast. The staff were always attentive, friendly and helpful. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

It took the first night to get used to the pillow, but really there was nothing not to like.

Spacious comfy room, a lot of space for cosmetics in the bathroom, huge bonus to be able to open the window fully.

Advice to the management to train the bar staff better to accommodate the hotel guests in the dining/bar area when is empty. The staff did not allow us to seat at the table because we wanted to have a champagne only not food. The chairs at the bar are rubbish, and no lights around the bar either. This is a ridiculous arrangement for a higher end hotel and for the guests not being able to seat at the table in an empty restaurant evening hours just wanting to have a drink.

We stayed for the first time in this hotel’s network. Straight away the experience was excellent! The check-in was fast and easy with a very friendly staff at the reception. The room was spacious and comfortable, had included everything you might need for your stay. If, for any reason you had any requirements or needs, all would be sorted just in moment. The hotel is located in a very great place, close to every main points of the city. The area is very different to the rest of the city, it’s nice and quite. I would highlight one staff member named Kader, who happened was every time at the reception, when I had to contact it. The person was really very helpful and friendly, helped to enjoy our stay. I would like especially to thank the staff when I asked them to leave a greeting card in our room, while we were away for the reason of my mother’s birthday. Instead of it we found set of sweets when we came back. Thank you for that! All overall the hotel and the staff really made us to enjoy our visit of Brussels.

We stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic and a real treat. The breakfast was by far one of the best we have had in a hotel and really good value. Location of the hotel was great, with excellent restaurants just a little away from the main tourist area, which meant better prices and availability. Things like the sweet trolly in reception were a nice touch! A hot water problem impacting the hotel was dealt with swiftly and we appreciated the mini bar reimbursement to make up for it.

The hotel didn’t really have its own bar, and the person running the connected Spanish restaurant clearly didn’t appreciate hotel guests asking to buy drinks there! We were more than content with other pubs in the local area and the mini bar though!

They gave us connecting rooms which was great. Even though we were beside the lift we heard no noise. Great location, Sablon is a busy spot with lots of restaurants and a lovely place to walk around. We stayed there because of the location and because of the fabulous Spanish restaurant that is in the hotel, but not run by the hotel.

Everything was great. I would advise that they renovate the bathroom in the handicapped room, it's a bit tired and dated. The toilet should be higher, but the bathroom functioned really well. A towel hook in the shower please. Remove the large mirror from the bedroom, it makes it more difficult to move around in the room. (attach one instead to the wall)

Great location, friendly and efficient staff. Rooms were comfortable with a good bed and decent shower. Breakfast was very nice, lots of good options. Liked the 'green option' of not cleaning rooms in exchange for minibar vouchers

Soundproofing in the room was not good, especially from the front door. When staff were talking in the corridor in the morning felt like they were almost in the room, perhaps a lack of awareness of how loud they sound to guests

This is an excellent hotel for a stay in Brussels. The Beds are so comfy and the breakfast is always so good in an NH Hotel. The location of this hotel is just great, a fabulous square with all the things that are good about a city together here, well the things I love. Antiques, Art and many of the top Belgium Chocolate shops all in The Sablon square, with the main art gallery just around the corner.

I was sorry we did not get a taxi from the Grand Central station, if you have heavy bags which we did, it was a bit of a step, not so for younger people I guess, I am in my 60s!
