The staff were above and beyond expectations. Especially for breakfast. The food was also Michellin star quality.

The response was curt when requested an early check in by 1hour... arrived at 14.45.. check in time 15.00.. room not ready until 15.45.. Late check requested at 13.00 hours.. normal check out 12.00 hours.. not available because the hotel was apparently . FULL..yet it was plainly evident at less than 40 percent occupancy.. the system undermines the quality of the staff.. very sad for such an expensive hotel.

The Fairmont hotels really do pride themselves on luxury and this one in Rio topped the lot. The staff here go the extra mile for you, for example they brought around complimentary cold scented towels from the spa whilst we were sunbathing around the pool. They also gave us glasses of bubbly when walking past reception on more than one occasion, and these little touches really make the stay special. The breakfast is delicious with lots of pastries, hot dishes and fruits to enjoy whilst looking at the glorious view of Copacabana beach and Sugarloaf Mountain. These views are the best on Copacabana beach by a mile and with the pool over looking this too, you can spend all day staring at it with a delightful Pina Colada made from the bar. The rooms are very big and so are the beds, they’re extra comfy and we were actually sad to be leaving as we loved sleeping in those beds. the shower is powerful and is a waterfall style shower with lovely smelling shower gel. The smell of the hotel is amazing too, which I think is a Fairmont staple as other Fairmont hotels I’ve been to smell fantastic. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you’re thinking of staying in Rio, with lots of things to see and do in Rio, this really is the best place to come back to everyday!

We had a perfect stay, there was nothing we didn’t like.

The staff was up to the level it supposed to be, but i would like to underline it to as the service was exceptional. The location was great, both terraces of the hotel with the pools were nice and relaxing. Amazing view from the terrace facing the beach. The cocktails of this hotels are probably one of the best in the city. I would highly recommend the bar! Very good food.

The beach club could be more isolated… But I don't know, maybe there is a law which forbids to isolate a public beach…

The hotel had a recent complete makeover, and is absolutly stunning. Room was great (we asked for a Sea View King Suite), the view incredible and the experience very positive. The fitness is an absolute top class gym, the pool and bar area great, food is good. Mohammad is an absolute masterclass in hospitality and makes the difference in client experience. Can't underscore enough how skilled he is. The Gold Lounge is superb and staff there very attentive.

Noise proofing from street needs improvement (isolation rubbers on window are not there). Despite 50% of staff being SUPER, Staff know-how is inconsistent. Try calling the hotel and you will need 4 attempts until someone picks up, to tell you they don't know how to solve (asking if early check in was possible...). Ground Floor Concierge can be selective on how to treat you - we dress relaxed and despite taking one of the best rooms, felt treated second class vs branded dressed hotel guests. This happened twice.

Great location, spoke English, very accomodating, great concierge, all staff was attentive and made you feel welcome.

The person who designed the building structure took advantage of the beach views. But the rooms on the ocean side faced each other, at least in part, so it could be a little awkward as you can see the others in their rooms. Was surprised by that structural feature. Not the staff's fault, but it was initially disappointing, particularly at the 5 star price.

Brilliant from start to finish. We received a very generous upgrade as we were celebrating our engagement. The staff were very attentive, polite, and friendly without being overbearing. Rachel the guest relations manager, organised a booking for us at a fantastic fish restaurant after we mentioned it in a conversation. The food and drinks prices were actually very reasonable considering it’s the Fairmont (about £8 for a large gin and tonic) when you compare it to London prices. Facilities and location also excellent, we loved the beach facing pool and surrounding bar/restaurant (perfect view) Amazing stay. 10/10

Room not ready at 15:00 when we arrived Noise from next room (through the communication door) Breakfast tables close to the ocean occupied for hours by people who actually had finished breakfast Late cleanup of the room (around 13:00) Room service : we had to ask 2 times for ice, which finally arrived 1 hour later

Room service - restaurant. The McDonald's bag totally destroy the experience. The various menu items I have ordered were also no good. Wrong packaging, everything was wet, sauces have escaped de packaging making a mess. Just awful.

The security following me outside when I went to speak to a local guy I met during the beginning of my stay at the WINDSOR CALIFORNIA. I stayed in Rio and Buzio the finished at the FAIRMOUNT. so I was here a good while. I met people and didn't appreciate getting stereotyped because it was two black people outside sharing a cigarette talking
