We absolutely loved everything about the property and our stay! To sum up how striking the property is, I found myself snapping pictures of it as we approached the village from the mountains, not realising it was the property we'd booked. The property is spectacular, with unique features and real character, surrounded by expansive gardens and stunning nature. It is on the edge of the village, offering absolute peace and relaxation. The owner was excellent at communication prior to our visit and during our stay. She was great at being able to offer lots of tips about getting about the local area and was incredibly helpful assisting us with spare towels when we arrived back at the B&B absolutely drenched after getting caught in a storm during a bike ride. Whilst it is not right in the middle of everything, we did not mind as it is easy access to the lake either on foot or by bike (we had our own bikes). Everything about the local area, the lake and the nearby Annecy is absolutely magical. We only wish we had had more time to explore and enjoy it all and hope to be back again one day in the future, hopefully for a longer stay.

The location was fantastic with beautiful views over the Annecy lake, the hostess was very friendly and gave us a lot of tips where to go in the neighbourhood, the garden was beautiful to watch stars and the breakfast was amazing! On top of that, the beds were so comfortable, we were very well rested after our stay at La Vallombreuse, I would 100% recommend everyone to stay here.

A comfortable, spacious bedroom and bathroom, well furnished with a small sofa, coffee table, desk, and armchair. The bathroom had a well-designed spray screen that actually succeeded in keeping the floor dry from a shower -- a rare feature in many bathrooms. The manager was very pleasant and accommodating, and breakfast was good. The gardens around the inn provide a beautiful and relaxing setting that makes one want to stay longer.

GPS directions from Geneva will likely take one over country lanes on an approach to La Vallombreuse from the north. This presents a nearly impossible hairpin turn to enter the driveway from a very narrow road. Approaching La Vallombreuse from the town center of Menthon-St-Bernard is much easier, though one has to stay alert to spot the sign for La Vallombreuse, which is partially obscured by leaves.

A very special guest house indeed and we were made to feel most welcome. The house itself is full of character and immaculately presented with spacious clean rooms and all the amenities you would expect. We especially enjoyed the peace and quiet and having access to the very beautiful and tranquil gardens. Breakfast was enjoyed at the top of the property with views out over lake Annecy.

The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. You can take a short walk up the trail to Castle. You can relax in the exquisite gardens. The villa inside has many beautiful paintings and artifacts, that delight the eyes. The owners and the staff are very kind and informative.
