Perfect location in the middle of the city. Awesome historic site! No need for WiFi here! The people complaining about the WiFi need to go outside and look at this beautiful city! :)

it's a three star, we got what we paid for!

I still have a hard time believing I paid so little for such a nice place, I may have benefitted from a Booking.com discount, so keep that in mind. Still: + The building is magnificent, a historical one right in the touristic core of Heidelberg. People are taking pictures of it all the time. I felt proud to sleep there! + The whole hotel is a bit old-fashioned but comfortable. + The rooms are equipped with a small (noiseless!) fridge and a kettle. I always yearn for a kettle so I was especially for it. Some herbal teas and coffee powder are also offered. + Despite the hot-spot location of the hotel it was very quiet. + Perfectly located, I could walk uphill to the castle before breakfast in 10/15 minutes. + Splendid, delicious breakfast. The "pancake machine" may be a bit gimmicky, but it's really good and I loved it. Fresh fruits, good yogurts, and lots of cereals to choose from.

- Whenever I took a shower, there was water all over the bathroom, despite my best precautions.

A welcome arrival by Zilas on reception. He is a first-rate member of staff! Easy check in (we had already done this on-line before we arrived). A superb historic building right in the centre of the Alt-Stadt. Room was clean, comfortable, with excellent shower-toilet facilities. Good to have fridge and tea/coffee making facilities Quality decor in all the public rooms. Comfortable beds.

The real disappointment was the breakfast. Limited choice - the basic minimum of what we would normally expect compared to the many similar hotels we have stayed in. So many 'standard items' missing. Mainly prepacked items - cheese etc, We originally booked without breakfast but changed our minds. We would stay here again but give the breakfast a miss. Ironically we paid for the breakfast on arrival the night before and was then asked to pay again on leaving. Looks like someone had mistakenly charged it again to our room. Sorted out.

Located in the middle of Heidelberg near the university, the lift to the castle, the river, and shops. It has a very good view of the castle from the window in the Hall way. Historical and relaxing. They cooked separate egg dish at the breakfast.

Lack of knowledge of public transportation from the hotel to the station. Lack of communication when I asked questions before I arrived. Felt a little bit expensive for what I received from this hotel. They could get me a taxi right away, but I wish they could provide me the public transportation information as the station is near to this hotel.

This hotel was able to maintain the original layout which is very old and unique but the beds are brand new and very comfortable and the bathrooms are all updated and modern. You get the historical side but all the important aspects have been updated in the rooms. The staff walked us all up to our bedrooms to make sure everything was OK which I have not had done in any other hotel besides the Four Seasons. The breakfast was not only an extensive continental breakfast of fresh items but you were also able to order off menu items to be freshly prepared. We were not able to have dinner at the restaurant but it was so nice that it was an option if we needed it. It is located right next to the church, the lift up to the castle, and the downtown area where they have their festivals as well as all of the major shopping. It is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend it !!!!

Nothing! It was amazing! Historic meets modern!

A lovely old building in a great location right in the middle of Heidelberg. I stayed in the attic which gave me a beautiful view and it was quiet at night despite the main high street below. The room itself was nice and cosy with everything you need and I slept very well. The staff were excellent and went above and beyond. This is important for me to emphasise as after a day of travelling with all sorts of problems and delays I arrived late and exhausted and my beginners German was politely listened to before they asked if I would prefer English instead. They got me into my room and on the WiFi so I could let loved ones back home know I had arrived ok. The breakfast option I went for the next day was fantastic, very continental and all fresh and tasty. The portions were great too and I couldn't eat all the cheese variations in the end! I feel it was all very good value for money and in the end I regretted not staying longer. If I come back to Heidelberg I know exactly where I'm staying.

There was absolutely nothing I didn't like. It met or exceeded every expectation I had and there were no issues or problems at all.

Chosen this hotel just by it's look - old (actually oldest building in Heidelberg) baroque facade, also inside there is some intriguely mysterious hall - but at the same time room is completely modern and spotlessly clean! Location is superb, it's just the heart of old town. Also due to heat they provided portable ventilator. Definitely the best hotel during this trip

Seems that staff doesn't speak English much, though it was not a problem. Window in bathroom could have been replaced when bathroom was renovated. A bit noisy in the evenings (due to bars around) and in the morning (street cleaning)

Despite our very last minute reservation, the establishment received us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. The reception went above and beyond in extending their kindness, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Their welcoming attitude and their willingness to assist us with our needs and provide helpful recommendations truly enhanced our overall stay, leaving us with a lasting impression of exceptional hospitality.

Very central location in a historical building. We had a good stay.

We booked a room for 3 persons, and the room rate already depends on the number of people, but then the extra bed (which was just a sofa bed already in the room) was charged another 30E, which is a very unfair way of showing the prices, both from the hotel and booking, because who would book 2 twin beds for 3 people ? The breakfast would have also been very expensive at 17E per person so we did not take that. Other than this, the hotel was really good, they just opened after covid, so very clean and fresh.
