We were a group of seven--two young adult couples, one middle-age couple, and one elderly parent. We asked to be in the older part of the hotel in near-adjacent rooms, but they were not handicap accessible (for my elderly mother). The staff was able to accommodate her in another modern and accessible location--just around the corner and closer to the restaurant--with no fuss. Greatly appreciate that! Meanwhile, the older hotel was quirky and fun--even with the pigeons in the rafters--while also very clean and comfortable. Also appreciated the location--just steps from the river in one direction and a lovely square in the other direction. The associated restaurant brewery was fabulous--we ate there for breakfast, of course, but also a dinner meal--and there were other eating/drinking options a short walk away. Finally, the parking was available as we had to have cars (for my mother).

The pigeons roosting in one room were a surprise, but we eventually got them out with much hilarity. (Likely our fault for leaving the window open!) My super-tall son-in-law bumped his head a few times on the rafters in his room and the winding stairs might be difficult for some people, but that was part of the charm of the older building and we enjoyed it!

The best two things about this hotel is the location and the staff but these are not the only reasons to stay there. They have a beautifully decorated restaurant and a beer garden which is iluminated by the sun. But don't worry, you won't get sunburned, since the seating area is protected by ombrelones. We stayed there for 2 nights and we recommed eating at the restaurant, which serves delicious authentic German food. It's also worth having breakfast there. The bread is crunchy and kept warm as if it had just come out of the oven. The scramble eggs is prepared on the spot. The room is comfortable and have good blinds which allows you to sleep in late. The area is quiet and you can hear birds singing. They have limited parking space so you have to book that in advance. They charge 20 euros per day. There is also public parking next to it. I used the P13 which costs around 20 euros per day. It's very close and practical. We were traveling with our bernese mountain dog and I must say that this is truly a dog friendly place. However, if you have a large dog (50 kg), ask for a room on the ground floor. The stairs were a little slippery for the dog to climb but nothing that we couldn't manage.

This place has an excellent location with an easy and walking distance access to all city sights. All the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We got our room upgraded to a Suite which was a very nice surprise. This room is absolutely lovely with a view on the Castle. The restaurant and own brewery downstairs offers absolutely gorgeous beer and very delicious food. The breakfast was also awesome. The hotel has its own garage just on the next street, but the parking place must be booked in advance. There is also a large underground parking on the square nearby. The front desk lady was very helpful and allowed us to leave the car in the garage for a few hours after checkout while we walked around the city. Really not sure if there is a better place to stay in Heidelberg than this. This is surely one of those places that you want to return to.

The location of the hotel and the ambience of the actual Restaurant are the best things about this hotel. IT is very close to the central downtown ( you are right there... Just walk into it) and also to the S-Bahn train station, which is about 5 minutes walking distance away. The restaurant has excellent food and of course beer. Do not count on drinking anything but beer unless you are okay with mediocrity.

It is just a German hotel with all its typical cultural drawbacks. The rooms are small, the beds are small, the shower is small and there's no such thing as a double bed in Germany. You have two beds pushed against each other and in between the yawning "Ravine of impure thoughts" ...as we are now calling it. This is in no way unique to this particular location but it is just one of the drawbacks that I've found.

Hotel in old brewery building. WIth restaurant downstairs - a little noisy. Many customers! Means good restaurant! Rooms are spacious and everyday bedsheet change over. Not new, not fresh but good enough. Hotel located in the walking distance to the centre of the Heidelberg city. Excellent. There is a small private parking with charging spots for electric and hybrid cars!!!! LOL. I like this palce. Highly recommmend.

Maybe need a renovation but in fact there is everthing I need. Worth the price. Maybe coffee set would be an extra room's necessary.

As expected, a characterful hotel in the lovely old part of the city. A pity the traffic south of Heidelberg was very bad, so we lost 3 hours and could not arrive In time to see the old city.

I didn't check the booking website well enough, the room did not have air-conditioning. I am usually too hot at night, but luckily it rained that evening which cooled the outside air down enough to get the room cool enough to be comfortable.

Location at end of Heidelberg old town’s cobbled Main Street on a charming square near castle. Spacious high ceiling room in old building with king bed, table & chair and sitting chair. Large marble bathroom with tub and separate shower. 50 restaurants in walking distance. The on-site restaurant and beer garden around the corner (by the reception desk) is definitely worth a visit. Staff was helpful finding us a laundry (drop off in nearby Universitätsplatz and pick up later same day)

Rooms are large and comfortable but the entry and narrow stair are not yet remodeled so ask for a room in another building if that’s an issue. Expect some noise from people and the few cars on the cobble street overnight. Internet drops frequently but reconnects automatically. The two large windows have light blocking curtains but no sheers.

Having a restaurant as part of the hotel was a great bonus and food was good. The location of the hotel is also great as it's in the old town and you can reach the castle with a quick walk.

All the hotel guests (as we've seen) put in a dark place of the restaurant. I'm not sure if this was because of an event or not it felt like a 2nd class. The pillows were not comfortable as they become flat soon after laying on them.

Beautiful characteristic hotel in a historic beer brewery in the old town. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Staff is friendly and very professional. Very nice beer garden (and very nice beer). The restaurant is located in a very special historic space with beautiful old ceilings. Parking garage on Karlsplatz within a 5 minutes walk S-Bahn Altstadt within a 10 minutes walk Bergbahn Station to the old castle within a 5 minutes walk Many restaurants close by (Marktplatz, Steingasse etcetera) The river Neckar and the Tourist Information are right around the corner

What a great location to the old town of Heidelberg, a short walk from the hotel to restaurants, bars and historic attractions such as the Schloss Heidelberg. I didn't have dinner here, but wish I had, their menu looked great. Breakfast was very good, with an a la carte option. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone and also stay here again if I get the chance.
