We visited Heidelberg on our way to Slovenia and booked this small hotel in a historic building in the city center, right next to the beautiful old bridge. You have to find the reception first, it is through a door in a corner by the terrace of a bar, on the 1st floor. Our room was small, on the corner of the building with a direct view of the bridge. The toilet is the smallest we ever saw. But that is not an issue for 1 night stay at a reasonable price. The downside is that it is noisy until about 2 AM as it is next to a narrow street with bars and restaurants. A drunk couple spent an hour sitting at a table at the terrace below (which was closed...) making loud noise. But, all that we could have known upfront and it is compensated by the wonderful location. Heidelberg is a beautifully preserved Medieval town. Note that the hotel has no facilities. Parking in a garage 200 m away, breakfast we did in a coffeebar in the street and there are plenty of places to get food in the evening.
Be aware the location comes with significant noise until around 2 AM. If you are overweight, the toilet may be difficult to access :-)

The room was cozy. Felt like being at home. The big wardrobe was very nice, too bad my stay was very short. The breakfast was continental, but with good selection of bread, jam, fruits and tomatoes. Each floor seems to have its own small breakfast room with big windows to the inner garden. A nice way to start a day. There were several female staff and everyone was very friendly and helpful. One of the ladies carried my heavy suitcase down the stairs. I would love to come back. I think a single room stay at this hotel would be recommended for a female single traveler like myself.
The hotel cannot do anything about it, but because of the good location right by the Alte Brücke, there was loud talking or yelling until midnight every night, and somewhat irritating. Because my room was facing this very touristic spot, I could not turn the light on with the curtain open.

Location was right in the center of pedestrian area. Perfect for shopping, dining, and wandering around. The room was wonderful with our own balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay very much.
We were on the third floor and it was very warm, BUT our hosts went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and gave us two fans. It made a huge difference, and we appreciated their attention!

We stayed in this hotel on our roadtrip through the southern part of Germany. We booked this hotel on short notice the night before and really enjoyed the stay. You cannot find a hotel closer to the city center and next to the old bridge. We were initially concerned as we arrived by car and the hotel is in the pedestrian area and has no parking, but actually it turned out to be no problem: use the parkhaus 12, from there it is only 5mins walk through the pedestrian area (the hotel even offers a voucher which gives you a nearly 50% discount on the 24hour rate of the parking - but watch out: it only works for the Parkhaus 12!). We had a fantastic big room with view on the bridge in the second floor. Very spacious and nicely decorated. Very friendly staff. Despite being in the pedestrian area we had no problems with noise at night (actually we had lot of fun watching the tourists making a fool out of themselves by trying to make selfies with their head inside the Heidelberg bridge monkey sculpture next to the bridge ;-). Hilarious.
Nothing negative. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so I cannot comment on the breakfast, but there are plenty of cafes around (actually there is now one directly in the basement of the same building which opens on weekends at 9). Yes, there is no lift and you have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself, but that was no problem for us - and you cannot expect a lift is such a traditional charming old building. We liked it.

Great room with views of the Alte Brücke. Friendly staff, excellent location. Breakfast simple but with good variety, good value for money. Room and bathroom spotless. Room is bigger than it looks and bigger than the average hotel room. Hotel is old school family hotel, run with efficiency and good customer service. You can't beat the location. Definitely staying again in the future.
Blinds or blackout curtains in the rooms would make a difference. The curtains were very thin and light got through. It was winter and I got up early, so it didn't bother me much, but I expect it makes a difference during the summer.

Location, Location Location! Friendly staff , clean and the character of a very old hotel.. a plus for us. Across the street from the old bridge.. we wear earplugs to sleep so we had no issue with noise. No blackout curtains, but we always carry sleep masks.
The beds were just okay. Not a problem for us, but for those with mobility issues there is no elevator.

The location was perfect, right next to the old bridge. The room was overall comfortable and we had a fan for if it got too hot (which we didn't have to use). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The pillows were not very comfortable. While the location in the centre is great, it also meant that it was very noisy at night with the windows open.

We loved the location right by the old bridge in the heart of the old town, we had easy, walkable access to everything lovely Heidelberg has to offer.
The curtains were a bit thin, and some folks were a bit loud with their late night revelry, but we were severely jet lagged, so I can't point blame for my lack of sleep!

The location is truly the best in the entirety of heidleberg, close to everything in walking distance. Love love loved it. And receptionist spoke fantastic English.
Hotel room is definitely small, and cheap, I ordered a double bed and they gave me two single beds with two blankets. So when u joined them together it has that annoying gap in the middle.

The room was really comfortable with an excellent view of the river. The bathroom was clean The windows in the room can be opened, so that is a plus. Really close to the city center to go for coffee, beer, etc. Hotel does not have a parking lot, but the parking garage is about 5 minutes walking, by the castle.
We did not book breakfast, but it was not very clear where it was served, in case we had wanted There is no lift, you have to bring your luggage up the stairs Everything else was really nice
