Fantastic location with wonderful views. A short walk from the funicular railway directly into the town. The room was newly decorated and very quiet and clean with an amazing view. We would definitely recommend it.

A bit Faulty Towers , you need a sense of humour. On arrival the member of staff seemed very uninterested. We were given a key but no information as to where are room was. We asked if we could book a dinner reservation and were told ‘yes’ but no further details. The reception area was full of laundry and laundry bags as well as bicycles. It was a very strange introduction to the hotel. We found the dining terrace ( which is beautiful) but again the single member of staff seemed very uninterested in giving us a menu or taking our order The food was expensive and quite simple but good. We ordered two starters and only got one with two forks! two mains and then tried to order desert from the menu but were told ‘no desert’ Breakfast was also a mystery! We couldn’t see any staff around.

The location: + above the city centre, + near the funicular station, + in close proximity to the key attraction, the Heidelberg castle ruins, + spacious parking area on-site. Interiors and atmosphere: + all areas are well-maintained, + common area interiors are tastefully decorated, + our room was cosy and had everything needed, would mention ++ the comfortable mattresses and pillows, ++ a modern and well-maintained bathroom, ++ soundproofing. I would definitely recommend a dinner on-site: + a valley view from the breakfast/dinner area, + restaurant cuisine is worth it. The appetiser with cheese, apple and sun-dried tomatoes was a pleasant surprise. Last but perhaps one of the main reasons to recommend this hotel is the very friendly and welcoming staff. They keep the atmosphere and the experience going.

It is an hotel way up the hillside on outskirts of Heidleberg. Right next to the cable car that takes you down to the Castle and town. Hotel guests get a discount. There is a fantastic terrace and view across the whole Town. The staff are professional. The restaurant is classy but a bit expensive, probably due to the view and they cater for events. We had a room overlooking the town. We also had a sofa which was a bonus. The rooms are small. The bathroom has a glass door. Why! Well appointed though. We only used the cable car for our stay which worked well for us. We ate in the restaurant once and did not have breakfast. I think there would be nice walks in the area but we did not fancy it as it rained most of our stay and it is steep terrain.

Cannot understand why bathroom doors are glass. There is a central misted panel but offers no privacy at all. The last cable car at was at 8 pm which restricted time in the town in the evening.

Schlosshotel Molkenkur, just remember this name for the best hotel in Heidelberg. We have stayed for a few days at this hotel. Stepping through the doors i was immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly lobby and reception area. Light, airy and very cosy…very welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always greeting and smiling to us. The breakfast was amazing. The location of the hotel is great. The room was very cosy and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view! I have no hesitation in recommending this gotel to the tourists who want to go to Heidelberg. Will be back to this place for sure…! 10 from 10❤️

Beautiful view from the terrace, personal was very nice and engaging. Pretty, quite spacious room with a new looking bathroom. Clean room. Many small extras to ease your stay; bottle of water, slippers, mini bar, luggage stand. Good communication beforehand to let us know how to get to the hotel by car. More than enough parking spaces.

It was very hot during our stay and there wasn't an airco or ventilator. There were a lot of wasps outside, so we couldn't really enjoy sitting on the amazing terrace. Prepare; an old beautiful house, so no elevator. Very nice to know; as a guest you get a discount for the mountain train next door. But.... during high season, the queues are insanely long as the trains go to 2 major attractions of the city as well.

We loved the room and contemporary furnishings. The bed was super comfortable and the en-suite bathroom was very well fitted with little extra guest gifts. The two full length windows gave us a wonderful view of the river and valley below. We didnt stay for breakfast so cannot comment on that.

Its great the funicular is directly next to the hotel. Its a shame it doesnt operate after 19.45 in the evening so you can visit the town in the evening. Its a long steep climb up to the hotel on foot so we needed to get a taxi back after our evening meal. It cost 12 euros but didnt spoil our enjoyment of this lovely town.

We much appreciated our "room with a view" -- well worth the extra expense to have that view. Created a memory that we'll enjoy remembering for the rest of our lives. Also, the mattress was not firm, not too soft --just right. And the room was spotless.

After dinner time, we ordered coffee and desert. The coffee arrived promptly, but we never saw the dessert. Saved ourselves €14, however.

The 3 best things I liked about this property are Location, Location and Location. The 1st is for the elevation, the 2nd one for the Breathtaking View, , 3rd one is for the proximity to the Funicular for commutation into town. Of course the property by itself is also very good and the food is amazing. Loved the place... They have a forest trail close by for trekking, which looked very exciting, even though I didn't see it completely, due to the rain. .

The hotel is located on the top of the mountain and just a few steps way to take the cable car to Heidelberg Castle and old town with guest discount. We had a breakfast there, which has a lot of choices. Our rooms is very clean and looks luxury. The receptionist is very nice and her suggestions let us finish the touring in the afteroon that we arrived with such a nice autumn weather.

Large, spotless rooms with en suite bathroom, beautiful views looking down over the city and the river. Very easy access to the city via the funicular which took you up or down - this was literally next door so was perfect! One room had a balcony to enjoy the views further! Friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast (additional charge).
