The room was comfortable, the double bed we had was huge and very comforable. There is a bus station right in front, which was handy. There is a bakery and a supermarket within 3 mins on foot. The service was good, the people were nice. We had a room with a private bathroom, which was more difficult to find in Reykjavik than I thought it would be, so that's a plus.
We found an old plastic bottle under the bed, we didn't bring it. It stayed under the bed the whole time we were there. That tells me that the room was not thoroughly cleaned before or during our stay. The hotel is pretty far from Reykjavik city center/ bus terminals, so if you are not travelling by car, it takes a long time to get to places and back.

The room didn't have much space to be, but it was big enough for the 3 of us and OK for sleeping before heading to the road. The hotel is located next to a Bonus supermarket and a coffee and pastry shop where you can buy groceries and breakfast. The hotel offers breakfast but it is not included (at least not in our booking). It is close to the main route for traveling around Iceland as well as to Reykjavik.
We felt we had a cold welcome, just handing over the room keys after asking our names, with no explanation of anything. Plus next to the reception was a big jar of flavored water, but we were not offered to drink it. It may not seems a big deal, but I see comments saying that the staff was friendly, and we didn't feel like it. It was our first encounter with Icelandic people and didn't leave a good impression on us, but we had good experiences with other locals in other hotels over the next days.

The owner was very welcoming and helpful in all area's of our arrival and checkout. The hotel was very clean, beds comfortable and shower facility was modern and up to date. Elevator to second floor was a plus also.It is a family run hotel and young daughter was delightful to interact with during our stay. Reasonable cost and good value for the area. Free parking is a plus and while it is a short drive into City Center it is close to any drive you plan on taking or tour to be picked up. In our case the owner was exceptionally kind to let us leave our rental car in the hotel parking lot overnight for a tour that required us to be away for 24 hrs. I would highly recommend Hotel Heidmork especially if you are in a rental car.
The only slight downside is that there is nothing close by for dinner or breakfast options. There is a lovely bakery near by for pastry and coffee and sandwiches if you wish but nothing more than that. not sure why the hotel does not offer a breakfast feature either for an additional fee or included in the hotel cost. In our 14 day vacation this was the only hotel without some sort of breakfast offering and since nothing else near by it is the only criticism I have. I would stay again though since everything else was perfect.

No breakfast offered, although there is a cafe within walking distance that can meet that need. There is also a grocery store right next to the bakery. The room was clean and quiet during sleep hours. The curtains did a great job keeping out the light since Iceland does not seem to have a real darkening hour.
I did not like the mosquitos or whatever those flying things were, but I see them everywhere which isn't surprising as we are near water. Just a bit annoying. I also don't understand why there are tables set up if there was no dining and I didn't ask, so I have no information for anyone in regards to that.

Thank God we stayed here - our flight was delayed for 5 hours and we only arrived at 3 am. Thankfully, we had the freedom to check-in at whatever time we wanted - this hotel offers a keybox where your keys are stored safely until you arrive to pick them up and go to your room. This was a lifesaver. There is also plenty of parking available outside. The area is great to stay if you're just on your way to the South and are not wanting to go to Reykjavik the next morning. Our room was warm and the bed was comfy. We only spent a few hours here but we will likely stay again!

It is perfect if you're looking just for a place to stay for the night to begin or to finish you journey in Iceland. I stayed both in the beginning and the end of my trip and both time were perfect. It serves its purpose of resting. If you don't have a rental car, I do not recommend you stay in this hotel because it is a bit far from Reykjavik center. Also if you are using Reykjavik as a starting point for your tours and plan on staying there, I also do not recommend for the same reason.
Everything was nice. No complaints whatsoever.

Good location and access. Free parking in a hotel parking lot. The hotel was clean and modern. These blackout curtains in a hotel room were really useful against the midnight sun when trying to fall asleep. Everytime I went back to my hotel room from a trip I noticed that it was cleaned up by a hotel staff.
I could use more amenities in the hotel room like a little fridge where i could store food. Next thing is my personal opinion and maybe the other didn't have any problem with it but I'd be very happy for bigger pilow. The one in the hotel room was very flat so i had to fold it to get some head support during sleep. It would be also fine if there was some solid soap or liquid soap dispenser in the bathroom for hand hygiene.

The hotel is exactly what it says it is - inexpensive comfortable accommodation on outskirts of Reykjavík. If you don't need to go partying to the center of the town, it's ideally located for trip to Blue Lagoon, Grindavík area and Golden Circle. There is enough parking space and Skalli bistro next-door was fine solution for quick lunch (horse fillet was delicious). The couple who runs the hotel is very nice and and my daughter was most delighted with the cleaning lady who draped my daughter's plushies in her bed. Breakfast was fine.

The hosts were really friendly, asked us how are trip was so far. The check in was really easy, she gave us the keys and were in our room within 2 minutes. Room was clean and the beds and shower was nice. The shower pressure was so high that I had to turn it down a bit :P They also gave us a tip to go to the bakkery next door for breakfast, we got 15% discount if we showed our key card.
No bad comments actually. The only thing is that I could't find a fridge, maby an idea to put a shared fridge somewhere.

The people who run it are lovely. Made me very welcome on arrival, offering me a free beer! They offered me advice with where to eat, important as there is no restaurant on the hotel itself. There is a decent fast food restaurant just behind the hotel (excellent pizzas) and bakery close by serving basic but nice breakfast. The room was very comfortable and reasonably quiet. Good wifi.
The shower in the room was quite small, as was the wash basin.
