Nice big room, big comfy bed, excellent blackout currents, very important in Iceland in the summer time. Bathroom had a bathtub. The hotel itself is huge and the lobby area looks amazing. It felt like I was abroad and not just staying somewhere for a night in my home country.

The floor was quite dusty next to the bed. Like it hadn't been vacuumed under the bed for a while. The staff was polite but came off a bit cold and snobbish. When you're working in a reception you need to smile to the guests. Found it a little hard to find my way around because of how big the place is.

Free parking, very good breakfast.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we get a room in the old building. I didn't even know it existed. To my mind in Booking.com had no information about such an option. Everything there was abnormally worn! The floor, furniture, chairs - everything was like from the 70s. Scratched, rubbed down to the wood, worn windows, etc. What a shame to offer something like that at all!!! Since I had stayed in this hotel before, I asked the reception to change the room to the new part of the building, because I knew there were good quality rooms. All respect to the administration, they changed the room without saying a word. Therefore, a good rating was given. P.S. Be careful when you make a reservation!

the food was excellent the room was clean

The bed and pillows were far too soft The room (during summer) was too warm. There was no effective way of cooling it down. The window could be opened slightly but it did not help I found that you had to give advanced notice for room service. No room service for such an expensive hotel is unsatisfactory. Also using the excuse that no room service saves the environment is simply not believable. I think it saves the hotel money while doing nothing for the environment.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Dining was excellent. Room was quiet and comfortable. Location put us within walking distance to activities we wanted to explore.

On the morning of our checkout we asked to leave our luggage for pickup later in the day by us. When we got back early afternoon we found our luggage was no longer at the hotel. They had been mistakenly taken with other guest luggage to the cruise port. Luckily we were passengers on the cruise ship where our luggage was taken and we found them on the ship before the ship left port.

Awesome hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast.

The difference between rooms is quite big. There is a newer part and an older part of the hotel. We stayed for 7 nights in the newer part and it was fantastic. After our journey in Iceland we returned to Reykjavik and stayed one more night in a cheaper room. This was located in the older part of the hotel. The water there smelled like sulfur and the rooms were really not comparable so we switched rooms to the newer part of the hotel again. Make sure to book the more expensive hotel rooms to get there it is totally worth it!

Check-in was very quick and uncomplicated. The hotel staff are all very attentive and friendly. Room was spacy, bright and convenient furnished. Bath room was spacy enough, modern and with enough storage space. Restaurant offers a small range of dishes, the dinner we had was very good. Breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. WIFI is stable and fast enough. Parking spaces are available in front of the hotel.

The quality of tea could be better.

the location is great, easy to get into the city.

Only reason I didn’t give it a 10 out of 10 was that it was under construction. Our window was right next to it, once it’s done it’ll be great but defiantly wasn’t as peaceful as it could have been as it was a bit nosier. Again this is a temporary issue so I wouldn’t let it deter you from staying at this property. we just got unlucky with timing and room location.

Lovely breakfast buffet, nice choice of food. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was amazing.

The only real downside was the lack of coziness in the hotel lobby and bar area, especially during Christmas. The lobby area was quite cold and breezy. It lacked a nice cosy fire and cosy places to sit and have a drink or just relax.

The staff was accommodating. The entrance was bright and airy; the bed was very comfortable.

The shower was poorly designed. Water leaked onto the bathroom floor and the bathroom door hit the shower door every time we entered the bathroom. The revolving door was not automatic. So many guests just stood in front of it and didn’t understand one had to manually revolve it. There should have been a sign indicating it was out-of-order and/or that it had to be manually operated. The breakfast buffet was mediocre. The bartender didn’t know how to make a Bloody Mary — but that could be because it is an American cocktail.
