I always love the Brehon it’s location was perfect this time as we were attending the bike festival which is held on the grounds. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly and lovely comfortable rooms

The correspondence coming up to the stay was very poor I kept receiving emails stating I had only one room booked so I eventually had to ring and check as I had two rooms booked. Also on arrival our friends got a bottle of Prosecco in there room there was nothing in ours which was kind of strange as we both paid the same and I did all the bookings. Not a deal breaker but would be nice if everyone is treated the same

The hotel was good no complaints at all. Lovely staff and the room was clean and quiet. The distance wasn’t too far to walk into town

I was very disappointed when I came back home and discovered I could have gotten the great southern hotel for 315 for 2 people for 2 nights plus dinner on both evenings. Where’s I paid 359.10 for bed and breakfast only. Plus we had to pay to get into town as it rained constantly. So I can tell you I will check out other deals in the future.

The room was excellent - great lighting, large windows, comfortable beds, and lots of space and thoughtful storage. The bathroom needs a facelift, but the shower pressure was incredible! Breakfast is well organized though the food selection is very poor apart from the pastries. The hot food was not appetizing and is exactly the same every day. Great cocktails in the bar and very accommodating bar staff to serve us in the lobby when the bar was full - so amazing!

I wasn’t able to book in for a spa treatment - I asked when I checked and was told to go to the spa to organize. Once in the spa, the person working said they were training and someone would call my room - noting that I wouldn’t be there I asked for an alternative to book. I’m pretty bummed - the thermal suites are lovely and I would have loved to have had a large treatment to accompany.

The “welcome back” greeting upon arrival by reception . Card details already on file - would they use them. Also the Staff in the Dining Room for breakfast could not be more pleasant

I left a housekeeping note with reception early on morning 1 (broken dispenser in conditioner bottle in shower). It was unusable. I was away all day. Upon my return to the room after 9pm it was still the same. I mentioned it upon check out the following morning at reception (to the same gent). ‘Well I did tell the supervisor’ was the response I received. The usual ‘thanks for staying with us’ or ‘ safe home’ or actually anything at all left me walking out of your beautiful hotel shaking my head in disbelief.

The room was lovely, comfortable bed and tea/ coffee making facilities. Iron available which helped too. The food was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful too. Had a gym which was OK and got a nice massage..

The one thing that was a problem was the door to my room key cards .I must have had to complain and get a new one on at least 3 to 4 occasions, which was very frustrating, especially once, after I returned from a massage and I was in a robe. Luckily a member of staff came along, or I would have had to go to the front desk with people around..

Very well appointed hotel with excellent bar and restaurant. Good sized rooms, clean and well equipped. The location is relatively quiet as on one of the main routes into town. It's about a 20 minute walk into town following the main road. The restaurant serve a very full breakfast and the breakfast staff make sure you don't wait long to be served if needing anything extra. We also had a fabulous evening meals in both the bar and restaurant.

I would have preferred some secure parking for my motorcycle as the parking around the hotel is very open and accessible to anyone. This was not offered.

The dining suited us really well with great vegan options included, and we used all restaurant, bar and in-room services. We also made good use of the spa facilities making it great value for money. The reception and first floor open seating areas were also so lovely where we felt at home either reading or dining or relaxing.

From our arrival to departure the staff couldn't have been more helpful The facilities were great unfortunetly , our stay didnt allow more time .

We were under time pressure so we chose to eat in the bar The hotel was very busy and finding space was at a premium , The space was poorly untilised ,for example 2 people sitting at a 4 seat table . That being said it was 2 people sitting at a 4 seat table , allowed us join them , and we had great food and good company.

Staff: Exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room: Great layout, beautiful view towards mountains - loved watching deer and herons in field in front! Breakfast: Especially loved the porridge. Restaurant dinner and bar supper: both excellent. Location: Quiet spot, but easy enough to walk in or drive in and park in town, and perfect for going to the races.

The prices of Irish hotels compared to other countries - but The Brehon was good value within Ireland.
