Excellent service - room was superb - Breakfast was excellent - Staff were very helpful and was extremely nice to our little girl. A lovely child friendly hotel

We were inside in the bar and a elderly gentleman had fallen between the chairs and a table. Only the lady staff went to help him up while the men staff just stood and watched . My husband and our friend actually helped her as she was finding it difficult to help him up . I just thought it was very wrong that the rest of the bar staff just stood watching.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good.

A walk in shower would be better than a shower over a bath.

Normally stay in slightly more basic places than this, but decided to splash out. The Ashling was perfectly located (for us) by Heuston station, and was only a little more expensive than the cheaper options, anyway. Was very happy with my choice. Fantastic staff, nicely appointed rooms and a bloody great breakfast. Seriously. May well be the best buffet breakfast I've ever had in my life: I travel a lot in Asia and have had sampled the buffet breakfasts in their top end hotels. This was better. A better selection, with all the usual stuff but with Irish staples like black and white pudding (all HOT) and a damn fine cheese and cold meats selection. All looked over by some of the loveliest, friendliest staff. I dig. And it made my other half very happy indeed.

Hmm. Nothing upset me, but... Well, there were no toothbrushes or razors in the room. I know the hotel is big into sustainability and all that, but it would have been nice to have these basic amenities. (They do recyclable bamboo toothbrushes and the like now, no?)

The location was ideal - far enough from the bar scene to be quiet, close enough to walk everywhere. Very convenient to the train station and Phoenix park. lovely room. the breakfast was wonderful

Returning trip - Find the location excellent when traveling to Dublin by Train as its only walking distance from Heuston. Breakfast Excellent. Staff Excellent. Food Excellent. Rooms spotless. Gave my little girl a goodie bag when checking in.

Only downfall was staff in bar were very slow. Waited over an hour for our table to be cleared. Staff were not that busy as they were chatting at the bar to each other. They did come down a few times when we ordered, looked at the table and walked away. Even cleaned all tables around us but too ages to clean ours.

We have loved everything in the hotel - from the reception, facilities which are well thought and providing comfort and practicality. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are perfectly clean and cleaned on a daily basis, there are different meal options and availability of the bar and the restaurant in the hotel, there is a parking and luggage storage professionally managed. The hotel is located near the train station and at a walking distance to the city center and the main tourist attractions, distilleries etc. It is at the same time outside the tourist flow and in a very quiet area.

Hotel was in a great location, with a tram stop right beside the hotel at 'Museum' stop, just 3 stops from Temple Bar. The atmosphere in the hotel was really nice, very popular bar and restaurant inside, family friendly. Our room was a superior twin with a view to the frontage. The trams run right by the window, so they can be heard from the room but this isn't a problem, they don't keep you awake, and they don't run through the night anyway. They have parking on site which was very convenient, chargeable but special rate for guests.

Everything was great, there was nothing I didn't like.

Great location, not in a busy built up area slightly out of town but opposite Housten station for a really each coach transfer to the airport, near the tram stops or a 20 min stroll down to all the action. There's a few lovely pubs next door on the left of the hotel as well. The breakfast at the hotel is plentiful so much to choose from! All tasted great and is eat as much as you like. All the staff were very helpful and professional. Room service was quick and Easy to use. The bar was reasonably priced and the food looked really nice even though we didn't eat in there. Would definitely stay here again if we visit Dublin again which I'm sure we will!

The pillows were a bit firm for our liking as was the bed but we still slept fine.

Loved the size of the room - 4 people so we had 2 single beds and 1 double. Lots of space to store ore belongings inc a dressing table Breakfast was great, lots and lots to choose from even as a vegetarian we still enjoyed the classic breakfast without any of the meats. Staff were lovely, particularly reception staff who were so helpful and also one lady in the restaurant during breakfast who was always so lovely and sweet to us. I wish I took her name, she was so pleasant and always had a smile. Room cleaned daily and they were generous with supplies e.g. bottled water, blankets because we were cold, slippers Location was perfect for us - it’s along the big bus tour route so for the weekend that became our main transport as we had a 48hr ticket! Close to phoenix park and the Guinness factory. Also it’s not far from the centre but far enough that it’s nice and quiet. Following the recent riots we chose not to be right in the centre anymore and this hotel was a perfect location for us.

Room was quite on the cold side and the heaters were not on. Also the bathroom had a weird smell which I think was coming from the wood in the bathroom (lots of hard wood cupboards and sides) and being a bathroom, I presume these might have been a bit damp as it was a musty earthy smell

I did a lot of researches on area hotels and found Ashling would be a great location for us to stay. The Train station is a minute walk from the hotel and will take you out to Galway. There are two tram stops nearby that can bring you close to areas of shopping, Temple Bar area and other locations. Guinness Brewery is a short walk as well with a few good pubs for food and drinks nearby. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with any questions we had. The breakfast is outstanding. Initially, I didn't pay for the daily breakfast thinking we would be heading out early sightseeing. After having one breakfast, we decided to eat there every morning. I purchased a larger room with a king sized bed and a very large bathroom. It was excellent. If we return to Dublin we are definitely staying at the Ashling.
