From the first second we arrived everything was fabulous, and we were made very welcome in their home... the room was comfortable and clean with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains of the Beara peninsula... We didn't think it could be any better than that but breakfast surpassed with a yummy fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, followed by the obligatory full Irish and fruit juice and tea/coffee with more fruit salad if required 🤗... Our only regret is that it was just a single night due to our tour of the W-A-W on our MP3 trike and tight schedule but we have decided to return and book for a few nights next year to resume the tour using this place as a base...

May 2024

Our family stayed in this lovely home in May 2024 when the weather was warm. The house is warm, cozy and very beautiful. The beds are very pleasant and clean, with a soft and refined design. The house smells of fresh flowers, and the living room and rooms are decorated with amazing live paintings created by the homeowner. In the evening, you can watch TV, enjoy the excellent high-speed internet, and relax on the soft, even lawn with a view of the mountains. The windows of the rooms open onto the southern slopes of the mountains, creating a panoramic view. It is the peace and tranquility of a cozy Irish nest. In the morning, we were treated to a very delicious and varied breakfast: an Irish set of restaurant-level service and the best pancakes in Ireland! Wonderful coffee, tea, juice and an amazing children's menu of yogurts, huge plates of berries and fruits, cheese, and rhubarb jam. This is the highest level of breakfast service in the country that we have ever seen. It's worth adding that the living room is a separate masterpiece: cups from international football tournaments, dozens of medals in the wall collections. Everything is incredibly clean and tidy. The house itself is a model of care and attention. The dog is kind and elderly, friendly. The owners are the most wonderful people, kind, attentive and caring. We thank you for this traditional vacation and will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Warm welcome with hot tea and cookies on a windy afternoon. Awesome breakfast made by the host and great view. Ample parking space for rental car as well.

Not a big fan of double bed with one mattress and blanket for both. Also the big panorama windows were towards the parking space, so everyone could watch you in bed unless you closed the curtains, but that is complaining at a high level. Had to drive to get to city centre for dinner as it is too far.

We wanted a quiet location, which this was! About 5-10 mins from the quaint village of Kenmare. Had everything you needed for a one night stay including tea/ coffee with milk! Eileen the owner let us check in early as I was very unwell and needed to lie down. In the morning she brought me the most beautiful laid tray of breakfast as I was too sick to go to dining room. The rest of our family said the breakfast was delicious. Thank you Eileen so much. We enjoyed our stay there

Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice including a cooked breakfast. It was served in a lovely bright room and the all white high quality table linen added a touch of 4 star in a B&B. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. The owner/host was away the night we arrived but her deputy Dennis was a delightful stand in. His briefings about Irish culture, highlights of the Ring of Kerry and the specifics of the district, including details of the history of Kenmare, were informative and very amusing. With Dennis's help we caught some live, traditional music - one of the few occasions we were able to experience something so intrinsic to Irish culture

While not really a 'dislike' River Meadows is off the main road and might be a little difficult to find in the dark. The directions given were detailed and very helpful and we had no trouble.

On arrival we were shown the cozy lounge room and afforded tea or coffee. Our room was immaculate with cute furniture with sitting area overlooking the countryside. Beds were comfortable with extra pillow provided. The location to drive into Kenmare was excellent… just minutes away. The morning breakfast was superb! Thank you P.J and Eileen for your warm hospitality!

We loved everything about this property.

We were 5-10 mins out of Kenmare which we knew when booking. Wanted somewhere quiet which this was! Everything you needed for a night’s stay was provided including tea/coffee/milk. The owner Eileen Ryan was very kind and let us check in early as I was very unwell and needed to lie down. I would particularly like to thank Eileen for bringing me the most beautiful laid tray with a magnificent breakfast on it the next morning, as I was too unwell to go the dining room. Thank you so much. We enjoyed our stay here. Good value for money

A delightful experience in an impeccable immaculate home with special people. PJ and Eileen (sp) were exceptional Ambassador’s of Irish hospitality. They exceeded all expectations from sharing of local knowledge (restaurants, must see places). The Full Irish Breakfast and Salmon with scrabbled eggs was a delight, filling and elegantly served.

Nothing! No staying longer!

Eileen was just great, she did everything to make us feel comfortable. The choices of breakfast were incredible, we had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and pancakes with bacon, toast, fresh fruit salad, yogurt etc. The room was well equipped, small, but cosy. We (and our dog) didn't miss anything. Nice lounge for the guests. Eileen's tip not to go to Bantry on N71, but to go over Healy Pass was great, spectacular views!

That we couldn't stay longer and try all breakfast varieties.

Irene is a great host. She offered us tea and coffee when we arrived. The property is off the main road just outside of Kenmare. But it is only 5 minutes from town. It’s very convenient for touring the Ring of Kerry. Private parking is right in front of the house. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay.

The bathroom is smaller than we expected. But it is fully functional.
