The moment we arrived, the concierge welcomed and assisted us. The check-in was seamless and timeous. The room was very spacious, with an en-suite bathroom. The kingsize bed was great, with a selection of different pillows. Big bathroom with great shower facilities. Throughout our week's stay, the staff were excellent, assisting us with restaurant bookings, and Bert always helped with bags or to pass us an umbrella for the rainy days. The daily breakfast was world-class, and the waiters/waitresses were friendly and on point. This hotel is up there with the best, and you won't be disappointed.

the location is Perfect and love there is cafe has nice view at canals and small grocery with nice baking and they make nice sandwiches try to get room has view on canal bathroom is amazingly clean

if you’re friends and get twin beds ,, it’s bad choice because their bed really tight and beside each other !! I do not know what the benefit of twin bed in that case haha ! but if you’re couples it’s amazing hotel choice and there’s no gym inside

Really good experience in this historic hotel. The management group really hear customers out. They acted quickly and really listened to their guests’ need and cater to you. Breakfast has been improved greatly within a few days of my stay there. Room was clean and with enough light. Not very spacious room but that’s common in Amsterdam. Friendly staff who are keen to communicate with you so for solo traveller, this is a plus.

The water pressure is not as strong as it was in my city.

The NH Doelen did not disappoint! Did a ton of research on properties as Amsterdam was the last leg of our trip, and we knew we’d want some r&r. The property is gorgeous, extremely well located, comfortable, quiet, well maintained, and staff were really friendly. Everything felt very luxe. I loved having coffee overlooking the canal with the window open in the morning. We also took advantage of the hotel’s bike rental service one day, and it was seamless. Really didn’t want to leave!!! We fell in love with the city and will definitely be back. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

it’s a beautiful hotel. Breakfast was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great. We didn’t use public transportation at all and we really visited a lot of attractions.

The room was very very small. There is no closet, so we had to leave all our clothes in our suitcases which was very uncomfortable. Further the windows are locked and it’s not possible to open for some fresh air. The air conditioning was too hot and altogether it made it impossible to stay in the room for too long. We asked to close the A.C. but that was also impossible. I can say that the rooms facing the canal did not suffer this, because they could open the windows. our room faced the street.

Room was small for two people, limited space for luggage. But the view was lovely and all the facilities were great. The bathroom and shower were great, bed comfortable. Staff always very helpful, booked restaurant and cab to airport, helped with luggage. Classy historic place, very convenient to tourist sites.

Steps up to lobby elevators and staff desk hard for anyone with mobility issues, no railings. Wished the room had more storage space.

This suite was perfect! The canal view from our room was one in a million and exceeded our expectations. I believe we had the best room in the hotel just because of the view! The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was within walking distance of all the attractions we wanted to visit. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and shower were spacious and we would highly recommend this hotel!!

Our only complain was the lack of towel racks or hooks in the bathroom to hang a toiletry bag or wet shirt. There is a heated drying rack but some items don't fit on this rack. This was a minor inconvenience and a pretty common flaw we have found in most European hotels.

The location was perfect.

We loved our stay here! First and foremost, their staff is amazing! It’s a great vibe here and they really do their best to make sure their guests are taken care of; which highly compliments the other perks of being in a cool hotel right in the heart of the city. The hotel’s restaurant was really good for breakfast with a lot of options including made to order dishes. We ate Christmas dinner here too which was also nice. We’ve visited Amsterdam several times and this hotel truly checks all the boxes to make a great stay.

The hotel is very well situated, right in the heart/middle of Amsterdam. North of the hotel are the main canals and the Royal Palace; to the south is Museumplein. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. Staff were always great and helpful - even during a power outage that affected the whole area. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

This hotel is rated 5-star. But it isn't really. While it has some features that characterise a typical 5-star hotel, for the most part, it is a glorified 4-star hotel. Interestingly, when I booked they couldn't confirm the availability of a twin room. This is extremely odd and a terrible policy - especially because if it is not appropriate to be in a double room, a stay in one can be very awkward and uncomfortable.
