Located right in the heart of Echoland. It was easy to catch the shuttle buses to the different snow fields in Hakuba, especially with a Hakuba valley pass. The toilets and showers were all very clean and never had to wait for them. The manager Jake was always available and responsive if you had any questions, plus he picked me up from the bus station. I slept in the dorm room and the bunk beds were extremely comfortable and warm. This place has maybe the best drying room I’ve ever used in snow accommodation. There is a nice little common area with a fireplace and friendly interactions with other travellers. Nice & basic breakfast included - loved the raisin toast!

Nitpicking but some kind of vacant/occupied signage for the shared toilets would be nice. Hard to find faults for this place, would definitely stay again!

Easy access to shuttle bus that take you to slopes rooms are better than what is in the photos helpful staff breakfast available can accept luggage delivery there is a drying room available

Going back from the slopes is harder as you need to access specific bus stops at specific times, tho I cant say if this is the same for all the other accomodations since this is the only one I have been to washing machine was not working properly, clothes turn out wet, if you have limited clothing, this might be an issue a bit hard to get into if coming from hakuba train station or happo bus terminal, if you have no car.. consider hiring a car with your mates for better accessibility

We loved our stay at the joint! The rooms and beds were comfortable with great blankets and pillows. The heating worked really well and the small bathroom we had in our room was great. We loved the giant fire and lounge room for guests, it was perfect to relax in after a day skiing. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating with awesome tips on the area and picking us up and dropping us off from the train / bus. The dry room for your ski gear was excellent and everything was so easy, we had everything we needed. In a good location for the bus stops and lots of restaurants in the area.

Breakfast was lovely (bread, pastries, muesli, yogurt, juice) We got a lift from the Bus Terminal at the start and end of our stay (included) Room was bright, warm and cosy Bathrooms were clean and supplied nice shampoo conditioner and body wash Common room was cosy and people are very friendly, TV with netflix and some nice books. Room was big (for Japan) and bedding was clean and cosy. Bed was big! Nice food recommendations, very helpful Location was perfect!

maybe a place to prepare simple meals or store food could be a bonus and I would consider staying for longer it this was available! but honestly, no complaints actually.

Really lovely communal area, great showers and everything was clean! The bed was so comfortable and a cozy fire in the living room.

There was quite a lot of noise from outside because the windows are quite thin, and the room was extremely small. But this is quite normal in Japan, I think. The breakfast was big, but predominately beige. Would be so nice with some vegetables or something hot too. Jake was absolutely lovely, but the other workers are "workaway staff," I think, and so they only worked a few hours a day, so most of the time there was noone around to ask for tips or advice on things you needed. But you can always text Jake 😎

The joint was so good for so many reaasons!! I stayed in the Dorm room and shared with 5 other people. They only have one shred room and all the rest are private rooms. Usually shared rooms have other people on bunk beds, but not here as your bed is all yours, so there is no worries about shaking the bed when you turn over. They also put the sheets on the bed so it's quite a luxury. The mattress was also soft and has quite a luxurious feel which made sleeping easy! The showers were amazing! One of the best showers I've ever had. So clean and modern with rain outlets from the roof. Plus lots of space! They provide a light breakfast in the morning, and they do all the cleaning for you, so there is no worries about cleaning up. The location is also great as it is 1 minute away from great bars and restaurants. Also about a 5 min walk from the bus station to take you to all the different resorts. If you want to go up to Happo ski resort and village it's just a 15 min walk up there. They also picked me up and dropped me off at the main bus station on arrival and departure. Overall, The Joint was fantastic! They have created a really friendly atmosphere and the common area was a great place to meet others and chat about the days fun. I would highly recommend The Joint! Tip: There is a bar hidden behind a vending machine on the main street. Ask around to find it!

Nothing!

Every single person that worked there was so genuine and lovely. Special shout outs to Jake, Sam, Tahlia and Adam - you guys made the stay amazing. It was such insanely good value for money, with small details like having a fire made every day, breakfast included and pick up/drop off was great. The location does not get better. The dorms were fabulous to stay in, the best part being that they are bunks and you have so much space underneath the bed for all your stuff. Nothing beats the staff though - thank you team for going out of your way for our stay !

Easy 100 meters to train station in echo land and close to lots of restaurants although bookings are required at many or you’ll need to eat early. The Joint was very clean and homely and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good and the bed was super comfortable!
