The facilities were excellent. The hotel has an onsen in the basement (seperate mens/womens). Very relaxing after a day's sightseeing. When we booked we knew that breakfast was included. The breakfast had a wide range of hot and cold food. There was japanese breakfast items (hot and cold). Cereals, fresh fruit and croisants and pastries. What was not known to us was that the hotel served afternoon tea/coffee/wine with cookies and tiny scones with jam and cream and rice crackers and nuts. In the evening there was more to eat a light supper of rice and a selection of toppings. Both of these were an exellent surprise. The room was very comfortable and quiet. It was a good temperature and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. We were provided with Jinbei style pajamas and slippers, which were handy for visiting the onsen. There are two washer/dryers which were very useful. The staff were very helpful, showing me how to use the washing machine, looking up taxi cost from a local taxi firm. The walk from the local rail stations is about 1 kilometer but the walk is flat and easy and almost a straight line on one road. The local bus service is excellent and there are lots of buses that stop only a couple of streets away. For sight seeing it is not far from the river and some picturesque streets. Also Nishiki market is not far, worth a visit for lots of fresh street food. On the day we checked out they let us leave our luggage there which we collected later in the day.

Great location. Very close to buses and the train lines for sightseeing. Very comfortable and spacious room. The hot pool here was really big and very clean. Loved using that after a long day walking. Staff were really helpful. I came back and my lights in the bathroom weren't working. And the housekeeping staff fixed the problem, the the gentlemen from the front desk came by to ensure that it was all working for me. Lovely staff, always polite and greeting me. Great rooms, and the tradional japanese food option for breakfast was great. Loved it, would stay here again.

The afternoon happy hour was just to short.

Room was typical Intergate. Functional, quite small, very clean, huge TV, 4th floor with minimal view despite being described as city view. The breakfast was excellent, a great selection to meet western and japanese tastes. Bed was very comfortable. Also, a small point but the Intergate disposable razors are the best I have ever used. The Onsen was not busy and very pleasant. The daily happy hour was brilliant, a great way to wind down. The lounge area, also used for breakfast, is large so plenty of room to sit. This feels a spacious hotel in its public areas. It is not too big so retains a pleasant intimacy. The location is close to a Metro station and eveywhere in the city is easily accesible. NB you have to hunt for the station to street level elevator if you have luggage, its in the lobby of a building; Exit 24 at Karasuma station

Explanation of "city view". The hotel only has 6 floors so inevitably the view is of other buildings close by, so city view is misleading. We have stayed in other Intergate hotels, eg Hiroshima, where city view really means you can see the city.

Perfect location near trains and subways and attractions. Close to Nishiki Market. Hotel far exceeded our family expectations. We had two adjoining rooms for a family of 4 so we had plenty of room. The hotel is modern and super safe. There’s even an onsen available during specific hours that we tried. Laundry room available with two machines that wash and dry. Hotel staff was super helpful and accommodating for all our needs. We arranged our luggage to be shipped from Tokyo to the hotel and it was ready and waiting when we arrived, perfectly. We would absolutely love to come back to this hotel when we visit Kyoto again!

There really isn’t anything to note that we didn’t like. This hotel way exceeded our expectations for a safe family hotel with plenty of ammenities.

The breakfast was perfect! Tasty and healthy food!! The room was well equipped, modern, clean and cozy.

I could not look out of my window, cause it was blurred. Usually I'd prefer to be able to look out the window, but I assume they have their reasons. I am not sure if it is really required to war plastic gloves for breakfast. It is just a lot of plastic trash in the end.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very affordable. We had a connecting room for our family of four which gave us plenty of space. The neighborhood was close to a busy bus stop and the metro, so it was very easy to get around Kyoto. There were tons of affordable restaurants near the hotel. The breakfast was phenomenal - so many wonderful Japanese breakfast items to sample, but still plenty of Western-style options for our kids! The free afternoon sweets and late night soup were a nice treat. We also really enjoyed the Maiko performance offered by the hotel. We’d definitely stay here again!

Only slightly annoying, but one member of the hotel staff kept insisting we sit in a couch area for breakfast instead of letting us sit at a table. It’s very difficult for kids to eat at a sofa/coffee table without making a mess.

It is a busy hotel with a lot tourists like us. The interior and exterior are very aesthetically pleasing. Front desk staff were extremely helpful to us when we were a little lost with the laundry machine. there is a very lovely message shop down the road near the convenient store. the onsen was clean and was quite busy. best of all the provide free refreshments and supper throughout the day (except breakfast)! We particularly enjoy our late night green tea rice as supper!

It can get quite busy at time. but it doesn’t feel overly crowded.

The facilities were amazing and we felt so welcome at the hotel. I particularly enjoyed the free amenities like the happy hour drinks and snacks- it was unexpected but made our experience feel more special. There was also a communal spa at the hotel which was really relaxing after our long days of exploring the city. All the facilities were very clean and the staff were super kind. Had an amazing experience overall and would definitely come back again one day!

The facilities were very clean and comfortable. Loved the lounge and how there were snacks provided almost all day including happy hour wine and beverages. Made coming back to hotel for a rest break from sight seeing very relaxing before heading out again.

There should be more more washers/dryers. There were only two and it was a combo washer/dryer. Long lines to use and often the clothes weren’t dry after a single dry.

Very good facility, staff and even lounge activities are great. The staff are very helpfull and speaks english since we are having trouble with this in some hotels we stayed at in other cities. I especially liked the bath and the lounge for the facilities, rooms are very clean too. Will definitely go with this hotel again when i come back to kyoto.

We had a huge hassle in washing our clothes as the machine was having issues and errors and it couldn't dry our clothes so we had to wash it at a coin laundry but i appreciate that the staff was very helpful in trying to solve the issue.
