The staff were incredibly professional at every opportunity. The room had customisable air conditioning. A bottle of water was provided every day. The room had a capsule machine and a coffee pod and green tea pod were provided each day along with coffee creamer and sugar. There is a nearby bus stop with regular services for central Umeda…

… but subway access is inconvenient with a tedious transfer or significant walking required. The bathroom door closes as soon as you let go of the handle and I did not see a door-stopper. I would recommend only providing towels in the daily bag and not a complete refill of all amenities in order to conserve resources. The walls are soundproof but the window isn’t.

This was a small hotel with two guest rooms on each floor. We really appreciated the spaciousness of our room and its beds. (We cannot attest to the spaciousness of other rooms.) It allowed us, for example, to do our morning floor exercises. The bedding was also very adequate and comfortable. Hotel appeared to be a family-run place that took pride in the hotel's appearance and cleanliness. Hotel was not really close to the subway, but still within easy walking distance. It does not offer breakfast, which is OK. Our room did have a fridge, which allowed us to stock up some simple breakfast foods from a nearby Lawsons or 7-Eleven.

There was nothing to dislike. There is no exercise facility.

Hotel Shiki Utsubo was the best place I stayed in all of Japan. Staff were so kind - allowed me to store my bag before check-in, even put the bag in my room for me ahead of check-in, greeted me every time I came/left, gave me a Band-Aid when I got a packing injury. Room was impeccably clean. Bathroom so well-equipped and comfortable - great water pressure on the shower. Excellent wi-fi. Room had a mini-fridge and kettle. Quiet location across the street from a park, which had a huge and gorgeous rose garden, yet still walkable to major attractions like Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori area. Very reasonable price (possibly because it was a weekday).

Grasping at straws here because there's literally nothing I would complain about, but if I had to pick something, I'd say there was a kettle and coffee machine that takes pods but no pods or instant coffee or tea were provided. Would have been a nice extra touch to be able to make coffee/tea in the room (without needing to pick up the ingredients myself ahead of time) but honestly everything else was so fantastic it wasn't even an issue.

Overall it’s a good property. Staff are very friendly. Room is much bigger than I thought, convenient location to USJ and easy bus transportation to Osaka station

The booking website mark it to be 4 stars while in fact it’s 3 star hotel which is out of expectation. The room was on 3rd floor with big balcony outside facing the road which as a solo female traveler feel not so comfortable and safe at night. The bus can be busy sometimes for ppl who prefer taking metro instead

Very gracious, hospitable and generally eager-to-help staff; the kind owner is also often present in the lobby. This simple hotel is just five years old, is an appealing small size, and is kept well with standard amenities. It is also a quiet property.

If you are light sensitive, be prepared to wake up early with the sun as the curtains do not adequately block the light. For me the location was out of the way; ultimately the hotel was not close enough to the neighborhoods I needed to visit, so I would choose more wisely next time.

Great little hotel in a good location if in Osaka. Quiet neighborhood, large park across the street. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent amount of space in room/bathroom. Even an excellet hambuger shop next door. We didn't try breakfast.

Nothing to dislike but the offered breakfast didn't look that appealing compared with several of the other hotels we stayed at.

The staff was very very nice, so polite and helpful. The location for me was good because I was there to work and hotel is close to office. However for regular tourists maybe not the ideal location. Room was very okay in size and pillows were comfortable. Room also included a bottle of water, coffee, and tea every day which was very nice.

All! The staff were very helpful. The space is the room were big. Their toilet is separated from the bathroom. The building lift is small but the room were spacious. Its 5/10 mins walking distance to Awaza station. The area have less noise even it next to the road. The front of hotel is park. You can exercise in the morning.

We had such a lovely stay here! The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Our room was very spacious, clean, and modern, and it was equipped with all the amenities you could think of. As a bonus point, the beds were incredibly comfy. Would highly recommend!

It was just a little out of the way from the main spots, BUT the metro station was a short walk away so we didn't find ourselves in any trouble to get literally anywhere.

The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Approximately 4 minute walk to the Awaza subway station.

The breakfast served was typical Japanese - mackerel, pickles, rice etc. Some more variety would be good. Fresh fruit for example.
