Osaka Guest House Nest was my first exposure to a hostel in Japan. This will not be the last time I stay at OGHN. When I first arrived, I noticed the Hanshin Tiger pins on the wall. Spoke with the owner about baseball, and he gave me a ticket to go see them! He didn't even know it was my birthday, he just likes going to social events with social people. This initial kindness after a 48 period of rough travel set the tone and tenor for the entire trip. The staff was great. The space was great. It's a hostel. Don't get your expectations up. You're not staying at a 5-star hotel. You can get anywhere in the city easily with a JR pass. The community, the ease of where OGHN is located, and the kindness of management cannot be beaten!

The only thing that confused me was accessing OGHN in the first place. There is an elevator in an entrance way. The entrance way is right next to a veterinarian clinic. Go up to the elevator, enter it, and go to the second floor. It's super easy to check in. When I was there, someone came in after check-in was complete. I tried to help him, but I think he was frustrated that he couldn't get help immediately. He (and I) didn't happen to see the after-hours phone number. So he left without getting help. The management has thought of everything, but the visibility of necessary information could be improved.

The bunk beds were comfortable and the free ice cream was very cool. Also the Nintendo 64 that was available to play on was great! I also really enjoyed the hair and skin products offered in the bathroom by the hair-dryer, and the alcoholic drinks you can buy on the second floor. The restaurant to the left of the hotel is BOMB!

The dryers are bad at drying clothes, and it seemed like the shower rooms were always full. Also, the rooms were kinda small and hard to move around in for 4 people.

Every Thing was perfect about this property specially location as Metro station was very near.

Muslim Shower must be implemented in Bathroom, if possible. イスラム教徒のシャワー Description: The shower is a source of water for people who prefer using water rather than other methods of cleansing after defecation or urination.[5] The shower is an alternative for the traditional sources of water for this action, such as the bidet, copper pot or bucket and mug, being more hygienic and compact. There is no contact between the spray of water and the used water drainage.

Thick blanket vs cold air conditioning make me warm and comfortable in my room, 2 plugs with 2 usb for each bed and the lights in my bed which i never seen in any other hostel in another country like europe where they will give only 1 plug and lights for each bed 4. 1 minute walk to the subway station, and everything was nearby like 7eleven, groceries, a place to eats and many more nearby.

I need to go second floor for shower meanwhile my room was on the fifth floor. No shower for every floor, just a toilet on each floor but to me it is not a big deal. Everything good.

For what you paid for, you get a lot of stuff. The showroom was immaculate. Even though the staff might not be good at English, they try their best to communicate with you.

The toilets on my floor for some reason always smelled like piss, so I just go to other floors. For what you paid for, I guess the size of the private space you get is reasonable, but it could be hard to work with when you are just trying to organize stuff in your luggage.

I really enjoyed my stay there the staff and the owner were absolutely perfect it actually made me feel comfortable enough to extend my stay. Bathroom were clean and spacious, free ice cream and snacks kitchen with all essentials to cook. Facilities are maintained very clean and the bedrooms are clean. I really like the fact that the staff were very friendly whenever you will need they will got common sense to offer you without even having to ask! This team will do the best they can to make you have the best experience on your holiday. There are also bike that you can rent for 500 yen per day. The air conditioning work perfectly in the room. I'm looking for them to expand another branch of these hostels in Japan as they are so far one of the best I have experienced

I was not really used to late check in but the good thing is we can leave our luggage and as I was very exhausted I appreciate the fact that i can rest in the communal area

The location in Teradacho is superb being right on the Osaka loop line. Only a short walk to Shitennoji temple and Tennoji Park. The staff were superb. Super friendly and helpful. Great showers. The hotel also supplies unlimited free ice cream to guests.

The room we booked was the feature picture and is much smaller than the picture makes it look. My bed was not comfortable at all and the room had no windows.

The hotel is very near the JR train station, about a 3-minute walk. It was very near some restaurants and convenience stores. The rooms were very well-ventilated (AC) and were very comfortable. The premise is very quiet. There were free snacks and ice cream, too. There was also some kitchen equipment that everyone can use.

Everything is good. However, the bathroom is a shared one and is a little small so manage your expectations.

I booked the stay one day ago (because of the earthquakes so I had to stay in Osaka for few days) and really like it so much. few minutes walk to convenient store, have few restaurants around the stay, few minutes walk to the train station, you don’t even need to bring shampoo or body wash or towel or hair dryer as they provided all, bed are comfy too

This hostel is very welcoming and clean. The common area is pretty nice, there’s lots of games and guitar. The bathroom are well equipped and clean, the rooms/bed is comfy. Love the free treats and dumplings the staff made, they were delicious. Finally but not least, the staffs was amazing, very kind, enjoyable and hardworking, my special thanks to Alex! Haha
