Very nice hostel for a reasonable price! The host was very nice, the place was clean and just a few minutes walk to the metro station. The toiletts are on the first and second level, so if you stay in the women's dorm on the third floor, you need to go downstairs. There are plugs close to your bed and enough space to put your luggage in front of your bed.

After checkout, you're not allowed to stay in the common room or you have to pay for that.

I like the ongoing tomato theme. It was interesting to know the meaning of tomato and why the own we chose this fruit. It also felt comforting like living in a family home sharing bunk beds. The browns and reds made it feel homey to me anyway. The guesthouse I'd close to stations. The manager was in-house in case of emrgencies.

The stair were a bit harsh on my knee, but a lot of stairs in smaller businesses are like that. However the lack of insurance for the bike diswayed me. I would have like to ride around Osaka but the liablity for a used bike was too high even though it would have been useful. I was told because of Osaka law it would be hard to find parking, there have been a lot of accidents, police impound it and I would be responsibility for any damage including a flat tire. It complimentary.

This is a super nice guesthouse with a wonderful location next to the river, calm area with nice places to discover “off the beaten track”, couldn’t be more happy with my stay. The tomato theme is really cute as well and the place is kept impeccably tidy. I really like the calm, homely vibe instead of a lot of partying and drinking that you usually encounter with hostels. There are also a lot more Japanese guest than in other hostels which is nice if you want language exchange.

Sometimes you have to wait a long time for the shower since there’s only two and people tend to go at the same time, but it wasn’t a huge problem.

We chose a private room. The entire guesthouse is clean and orderly with a homely aspect where you can hang out with other guests (both Japanese and International) and feel comfortable. We were able to watch the Sumo on TV and the host switched it to English so we could enjoy the commentary. The host was extremely accommodating and answered all our questions (we had a lot lol). The host is inclusive and makes the effort to have his guests interact while also leaving space for everyone to have their own quiet time if they prefer. We met a lot of wonderful people during our 7 days at Tomato! We used Osaka Tomato as a base to explore Nara, Kyoto, and Kobe. The price and value is not comparable with the time we had at Tomato! It was the highlight of being in Osaka :)

I enjoyed that it was a little “out of the way” (down a little side street) since because of that it ends up being pretty quiet which is quite nice and relaxing. As well the train station is walking distance so I found it pretty easy to get to Kobe, Osaka and Kyoto from here and there is a FamilyMart like 2 minutes away which is really nice for a quick breakfast or dinner. The owner is really nice and let me know about places I could go to visit, I ended up not using the kitchen facilities (FamilyMart or I ended up eating out in the areas I visited that day) but you are able to use them, they looked very clean and straightforward to use.

The property is very well located, just a subway stop from Shin-Osaka. Convenience stores also located nearby + a good ramen restaurant. There is also a park right across the entrance, with view on Osaka’s skyline. Facilities are very clean. Shared dorm features curtains per each bed, so to have a little extra privacy & plenty of sockets. WiFi works good, too. The property features also a spacious common area + fully equipped kitchen. There is a fridge you can use to store your food & of course are also welcome to cook your own meals. The owner is welcoming & available for any question or doubt one may have.

The owner was very helpful with giving me ideas where to visit and also took the initiative in finding out how to ship my luggage and even filled the form for me. The property is very close to the river and running/walking trail. The dorm was a comfortable size as there was quite a bit of space between the two rows. The owner also came every night to adjust the room temperature. Nice to have kitchen, meeting space and a table to eat at. Also not to be missed is the cute tomato room on the 3rd floor where you can take selfies.

The downstairs shower had a funny smell.

The hostel is very cosy and feels like grandma's home. The owner is kind and helpful and very fond of tomatoes. Everything is tomato-themed and there is even a little tomato worship room. Towels are provided, netflix, coffee, tea, ... Location is good, next to the river and centered between Shin-Osaka station and downtown, but you need a subway (5 mins walking) which is not covered by JR.

The matresses are very thin (futon style), so the beds are quite hard. There are 2 bathing rooms and 2 separate toilets. Since the wash basins are in the bathing rooms, you cannot brush your teeth when someone else is showering so you might have to wait for a bit of time.

the theme is very cute. the owner speaks very good English and explained everything quickly and efficiently. for the price, it's a nice guest house. the location is good. less than 10 mins to a station that connects both to the hankyuu and the midosuji lines to get to both Osaka and Kyoto very easily.

only two things really. 1. the bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard. it made so much sound if you even moved a little bit. it hurt my back because the wood was so hard and the futon was so thin. 2. the shared showers could be cleaner. I know it's a share house but there were places in the bathroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time so I disliked that.

Had a great lounge room with cute tomato theme and free coffee/tea, kitchen facilities. The neighborhood was quiet and residential, and the hostel itself was very quiet. The owner was very friendly and could speak perfect English.

The ceiling of the bunk was a bit low, so if you’re on the taller side it might be tough. The shower had a bit of a mold smell. The location isn’t the best, and Google Maps will try to take you along a really dangerous route if you’re walking there. The check-in hours are a bit inconvenient, only 4-9.
