The friendliness and professionalism of staff were a definite highlight. The service was just great. There is a lovely buffet breakfast with a lot of choice of food and beverages, we enjoyed using the pool and sauna facilities, the atmosphere in the lobby is very pleasant and even managed to do some work while there. The hotel is right next to the Cambridge North train station and easy to get to. The rooms were nice (we had a family room and a queens) and all 7 of us had a great stay. Also the TV watching facilities were really good, we were impressed.

2 minor things that did not take away from holiday but could be better: extremely soft pillows - even with 2 you had to sort of fold them over to give decent support. The mirror door in the bathroom that does not lock/fully close - nice design feature but made some of family members uncomfortable as did not give a feeling of full privacy as we were 4 and 3 sharing the respective rooms. We managed by using the downstairs toilet in lobby on occasion, taking turns to be alone in the room, and using spa facilities.

Excellent breakfast with wide choice and good supply of items for cooked breakfast. Reasonable diiner menu although choices may feel a ittle limited if staying for any length of time. All staff were warm,friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. A major asset to their employers.

No drop off area. Lane for taxis and large disabled car park immediately in front of hotel entrance. ?allowed 15minutes in this area. A little daunting for first time visitor.Why not organise a third or more of this area to be a drop off zone for a longer period of time to allow people (esp first time visitors) to check in and take luggage to their room before taking their car to the large car park ("behind the hotel")? Reception very helpful in ensuring car park "App" can be scanned on to one's phone. Problem if phone's battery has died on arrival!!!! No desk to comfortably work at in room.

Breakfast! Wonderfully, warm lady, dark hair glasses, accent, she made our last breakfast! Give her a raise.

Brother and husband asked a question and were spoken down to by a lady with short dark hair. She actually made them feel really stupid, as if they shouldn't have asked? The receptionist asked whether they were sure the room key did not work? It was unnecessary, especially when she was just told it did not work? Those were the maybe small incidents, but they made us question the motive for rude and dismissive behaviour.

Lovely modern hotel - looked like it was only a few years old. Open plan layout at reception with the reception staff stadning at a desk rather than behind a big counter etc. Staff were lovely & room was nice. Selection at the bar was good. Alright location for town - short taxi ride way. My partner lost her watch sitting on the sofa in reception and it was handed it, and waiting for us in an envelope when we got back to the hotel later that night.

Couldnt get through to the hotel reception desk when we were out of the hotel. Called mulitple times about my partners missing watch but no answer. Would have been good to know her watch had been handed in so it killed our vibe a bit while we were out in town.

Lovely modern building and rooms, layout is fairly well thought out. Nice bathroom, no bath, but not the end of the world. Everything felt modern and new, and all worked well. Nice to have a fridge in the room, and quite a large television. Temperature controls worked very well, and there are sockets in most places you would want. Very clean and very quiet, even with it being literally next to the train station, we couldn't hear a thing. Good bar area, very nice selection of seating, good and comfortable. Breakfast was good, nice selection, and fresh. Good milk alternatives included, too.

The bed was supposed to be a queen bed, but was actually two singles pushed together, not ideal really, had to push them back together a couple of times, quite irritating and uncomfortable at times. Lighting was slightly lacking, but not terrible. The route to the spa, gym, and pool was a bit silly. You have to go to the first floor, walk all the way to the end of the corridor past all the rooms, go down some stairs to the ground floor, then go through to the facilties. You can exit directly into the reception / bar area, but not enter, which seems a bit daft to me.

The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and plentiful. The decor of the hotel and the rooms was gorgeous and tasteful. The swimming pool area was really clean and we had the entire pool to ourselves on one occasion. Really impressed, I highly recommend this hotel. The bus stop is directly opposite the hotel and this takes you to central Cambridge for only £2 per person way. The train station is also a few seconds away.

There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom. I’m guessing it was missed.

My partner and I both loved our stay at Novotel. The staff were amazing - I had a special request as it was my partners birthday, not only did the staff fulfill my request but added an extra personal touch which was truly appreciated. The hotel itself was very clean with plenty of facilities. The pool is open until late which was great. The room was a great size and very nicely presented. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of variety. The hotel is located right next to the train station so great for travelling into the city. And we didn't hear any trains passing by from our room. Parking is close by but does require payment. Our only small issue was the bathroom door, which although looked fab (mirrored), offered very little privacy, as there is no lock and the door doesn't seal shut. Once again, the staff were amazing. We plan on staying again, and bringing the kids!

The hotel is beautifully designed, a soft modern style, colotfull and shick. The place was kids friendly, usefull waiting areas, very kind and helpful staff. The room was clean and air conditioned, with comfy beds and bedding. An interesting view, right above the train tracks, but no sound what so ever due to sound proof windows. The bathroom was comfortable and general feel was very inviting. The breakfast was very good as to a large variety and unlimited servings we could enjoy. Good coffee, and a selection of non dairy milks. The hotel is also located very close to the river, where you can stride along the boardwalk and feed some swans, see the gorgeous houses along the river, even go for a run or play ball. All in all a great hotel in a great location.

Just one thing - the door to the bathroom is a little non sound proof.. Funny noises whenever you go.

Room was lovley and clean , room soundproofed which was lovley as its next to the railway never heard a thing , tv in room was gigantic, wifi was strong.

Limescale in the kettle was a little upsetting after a long flight just wanted a cup of tea but the state of the kettle put me off. Not a not like but could do a phone in the rooms was told room service was available but no phone to make an order so had to go to the bar took the point out of the room service really. Was told that pizzas were on from 22:00 all night when went to order at 21:50 was told no orders until 23:00 I checked in at 21:00 so would of ordered sooner. Fortunately the bar staff were able to twist the cooks arms to make me 2 pizzas other wise would of bin going hungry.
