Let's start with the property itself, it's greatly located a little bit hidden but just off the main road so it's always nice and peaceful. The amazing salt water pool is a huge and a welcome relief when you get back at the end of the day exploring the island. Talking about exploring, don't worry about booking a scooter rental as you can do this through the hotel and yes you might pay a little bit more (we paid 40 ringgit per day) but it gets delivered and picked up at the hotel and the scooters are in great condition. The room is very spacious and with all the bamboo the design is really cool. Shower has hot water if you want/need it. There's free coffee and tea and filtered water in the common area, plus some cooking equipment if you don't want to eat out. Celia the owner of Bamboo Cottage is the best host you can imagine. She organised the scooter for us, gave us a thousand tips on what to do on the island and where to eat/drink (which made our stay 1000x more enjoyable) and was just generally nice to sit down and chat with. If you're looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful and well designed space then don't hesitate and book Bamboo Cottage!

The pool was really nice! We were able to rent a scooter on the spot organised by the owner. The rooms were spacious. Beers are available in the common area. The owner is very friendly and available for advice!

The bedlinnen had burnholes in it and was too small for the mattress, so it kep slipping off so you basically wake up on a naked mattress.

We loved this place! The pool is fantastic, with monkeys visiting sometimes at only a few meters distance. The common place under the roof is great, with the possibility to heat up food or cook something and with a self service fridge where you can take out drinks or food for reasonable prices (eggs, yoghurt, beer, soda’s…). There is free coffee and tea and filtered water. Very convenient. Also, thanks to the common space it’s easy to get into contact with other guests. Friendly staff, laundry service, great atmosphere. Under the roof, upstairs, there’s not only a “library” and space to do yoga, but also a working space with electrical outlets - and the WiFi is good everywhere! It’s only a five minute walk to the main road, with lots of places to eat and some mini markets.

There is not much nót to like :) It would have been nice with some more shelves or some hooks for our stuff (we stayed in a family room). The room was not so big and it easily gets messy with four people if there is not enough storage. Because of the tropical climate, it’s a good idea to dry wet towels and clothes/bathing suits outside to prevent the room from becoming too humid. The first days we kept everything inside, but then the room started smelling a bit.

Bamboo Cottage Langkawi is a familiar lodge and you can feel that, Host and staff are very friendly and responsive. The rooms and the rest of the cottage is well designed, beds are wonderfull.The highlight is their pool: one of the bests pools we went. We are travelling for 1 and half month in Malaysia and Bamboo Cottage Langkawi is the best placed we stayed. You have some local malay restaurants and food stalls walking distance. Best to rent a scooter to go to Tanjung Rhu Beach

Room sound isolation, you can easily hear the neighbours if they are loud.

We loved everything - location is nice and quiet yet everywhere can be reached in a ten minute walk. The pool is fantastic - photos do not do it justice. Staff are lovely, huge thanks to Isma that helped us with everything - she is a huge credit to the accommodation. The common area is a great concept, you can cook there too and you have a fridge in your room. Beer and wine is readily available, there’s free tea, coffee and water too. Laundry service was cheap and completed in just one day - we were very grateful for this. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable and we slept so well. We loved Langkawi and we loved our stay. We didn’t want to leave!

beautiful place, walking distance to restaurants and beach, even though it feels like you’re in the country. Car or scooter rental recommended, if you want to explore the island. The common area next to the pool is a great place to hang out, eat your breakfast, have a drink or play some games. The pool itself is a blessing after a long day exploring the island !

The room was pretty basic and bed wasn’t too comfortable. I didn’t like the fact there was no room safe, but there is a mini-fridge in the room where you can keep your drinks cold.

The cottage was amazing, the staff were all really friendly and there was great facilities. The pool was lovely and not too busy with plenty of places to sunbathe. Perfect location, it was really peaceful. Only ten minutes walk away from a quiet, idillic beach and about 20 minutes walk from the busier beach which had restaurants, bars and shops. The dog Nero is so friendly and will come with you to the beach if you let him follow you, don’t worry he knows his way back.

This was easily the best place we stayed in Malaysia - really cool jungle vibe while being really well maintained. The salt water pool was great. We loved that they have food you can purchase and cook yourself (croissants, baguettes, cheese, beer/wine) in the communal area. Location is great, near lots of restaurants and to the beach but feels so far away from everything at the same time. The library/yoga/work space upstairs is really nice to hang out in too. Beds were comfy and WiFi was good

When it rained the noise on the steel roof was deafening - definitely bring ear plugs. Also the fish in the reception area are much much too big for their tiny tank! The sad fish tank really takes away from the hotel, would recommend rehoming them somewhere where they can actually swim

It is a very laid back and relaxed place. Staff is helpful in organizing trips, giving tips. The pool is fantastic. I would never have thought that salt water has such pleasant effects. There is coffee and tea provided. Softdrinks and bread are in store for little money. Grab taxis are there in no time to get you to the center or the airport.

Not much to mention. The family villa had a somewhat strange smell from the bathroom when entering. However this disappeared within no time and was not really an issue to us.

We loved our stay at Bamboo Cottage. The location was great, nearish the busier parts of Cenang beach but tucked away by the side of a forested hill. We saw Monkeys, Hornbills and eagles all from the comfort of the common area next to the pool with an inexpensive Tiger beer in hand. The staff were lovely. The room was great. All in all, Bamboo cottage has the feel of a backpackers hostel, but with comfortable beds, AC and a very welcome pool.

No restaurant, but plenty of options nearby, and a well stocked fridge where you can help yourself to drinks and snacks, note down what you have taken and they work out the total at the end of your stay.
