Laura was a wonderful host! She is a spectacular cook and made us delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. She went out of her way to ensure a perfect stay for our family, and we highly recommend this beautiful location for anyone wishing to escape the traffic and hassles of Tulum to enjoy peace, tranquility, and beauty of nature. She also made sure to be available for our arrival and assist with any advice and needs during our stay. Escarabajo Rojo is just one turn off of the main road between Tulum and Coba, and the simple directions form Laura were perfect (the app Waze works well, too).

We stayed in the tree house structure which is beautiful and as per the photos. The room is comfortable and large. The property is very well maintained. Laura is a superb host with great local knowledge, everyday providing us suggestions if needed (including mezcal reccos) and supplying a nice breakfast. We had a car and it was a great location if, like us, your main thing is not to visit the beach everyday. We could get into Tulum within 15mins. Lovely place to stay if you want to be away from the crowds and have some quiet time.

The property is more or less 20km away from the center or Tulum, but if you have a car, you can easily find your way downtown. In the middle of the woods, it is the perfect place to stay if you want to rest. A small boutique hotel with everything you need for a couple amazing days in Tulum. The host, Laura, is the best!! She will take care of you as if you are family, and will give the best advices. An amazing person with a BIG heart.

I really enjoyed being in the jungle and the daily meals. They were delicious! I also loved the pool and being able to have peace and quiet every night.

The internet did cut out a lot towards the end of my stay. Also, there are quite a few bugs inside the room so be mindful of that. You definitely need a car. I did not rent one but wish I had so I could get around more easily.

We loved our stay at Escarabajo Rojo so much! The room is very beautiful and comfortable, the place is a true gem. Laura was very nice to us and her dog and cat are the sweetest. We were sad to only stay one night there, we wish we could stay longer. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again

great place to stay ! nice cabine ( there is also rooms) in a beautifull garden out of the city. The landlord does everything to make you feel confortable. I will come back

It felt like staying in a treehouse in the jungle, and at the same time staying with a local. Laura was so lovely and her meals were delicious.

Laura has been extremely kind with us, she, the dog Bruno and the cats really did become our friends during our stay! The bungalow in the tree was lovely, well furnished with stylish taste and the dishes prepared by Laura were absolutely delicious. Everything went perfect, we highly recommend!

I spent a wonderful couple of nights in this hotel. It's a lovely place, secluded in the jungle even if the village and it's shops and restaurants are just a few minutes away. The rooms are both beautiful and very confortable. The property is one of a kind. Laura the owner is extremely responsive, very welcoming... and last but not least she's a wonderful cook, don't miss out on dining there. Highly highly recommended.

We stayed in the cabin at the front and it was a great place for peace and tranquility. We loved all the windows with the beautiful jungle around us. Very peaceful and private. Great romantic getaway. The breakfast was a wide variety of fresh fruit, toast and honey, coffee and tea. Never seen a bug or moseqto inside the cabin. No air-conditioning, but non was needed, very shaded and all windows can stay open for fresh air.
