An absolute gem in the heart of the Pueblo, for an incredible price. I had a tiny bungalow—there were so many warm touches, something you don’t expect from budget accommodation, from the two sets of towels (pool and shower) to the hanging rack for wet clothes and swimsuits, to the little toiletries. Erica was a lovely host and gave great recommendations. Yes it is a bit noisy because of the live music but I enjoyed being able to listen to live performances from the comfort of my room, and they ended early, around 10-11pm so I had no problem sleeping. I would not hesitate to book again!

Some other guests were a bit noisy and that disrupted the serene atmosphere (the pool area and garden are lovely, I enjoyed watching the different colorful birds fly around), but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault!

The room is large with a huge bed, air con and fan. The bathroom is well appointed with good shower etc. The room has a fridge and water, tea, coffee are all provided. Erica was the most wonderful host and sent me so much information via WhatsApp of how to get around, things to do, see, restaurants... anything you could want to know! Also the room has so many excellent touches. Some cutlery and crockery in case you want to eat here, sponge and washing up liquid if you use it, hanger to dry wet clothes on, shampoo, soap, glasses to drink from. Everything is so so well thought about! The pool and outside space is also just so idyllic. Honestly I could stay forever and if I come back to Tulum I will return 100%.

Nothing it's exceptional!

The hosts were wonderful friendly people. We loved the unlimited free drinking water and the affordable accommodation, which included a kitchen and living area. Outside the room it was very tropical, with a pool and a couple of hammocks to set the atmosphere. We also rented a scooter there, which was handy for getting around (not too many of the local sights are within walking distance). On Tuesday night, the neighbouring food district has salsa dancing to 11pm. We joined in (I think it cost $100 pesos) and had a great time.

Tulum’s town centre doesn’t have a lot to see. However, the beach area is so expensive that, for us, staying here and exploring by scooter was very worthwhile.

Really loved our stay at Zamunda. The rooms are spacious and super clean, with a great patio where we spent a lot of time. Can’t say enough about the garden and pool area, which were giving a relaxed vibe and you could feel like in staying nature even tho the accommodation is in town. We really appreciate Erica’s welcoming and all the info she provided in the messages which basically covered all our needs. 🫶 A big plus is the Palma Central foodtruck area next by, which has a great vibe and offers lots of food options. A place we definitely recommend and we’d love to come again one day!

The apartment was wonderful, with all necessary basics. The hosts were kind and helpful, and the gardens relaxing, with a caring gardener. The location was a bit further away from the business of the main drag, but sufficiently close to many shops, restaurants. I particularly liked a fruit grocer nearby, as well as the food court that opens in the morning and evening.

On some evenings the nearby food court place played louder music, but this typically stopped at 10pm or 11pm which did not bother us particularly, but might be an issue for some travelers who are yet to adjust to Mexican lifestyle :)

The hosts are super helpful and welcoming, with lots of useful advice, easy short walk onto the main strip of Tulum and close to lots of recommended eateries. Bike rentals next door which are essential no matter where you stay in Tulum and can be stored on site. Lovely pool area with loungers and hammocks, the rooms have a rustic feel and are clean and spacious, loved the addition of beach towels, a coffee maker, and access to drinking water was another bonus. Palma Central food court is conveniently next door, the music never bothered us and never played too late. Would definitely stay again for price

No fault of the property as these things happen but unfortunately our air-con broke on our last day which they did try to fix but we weren’t able to use it at night whilst sleeping, but thankfully it was only one night so we survived :) As it’s a leafy green oasis there are a lot of mosquitoes

first of all, Erica and Lores are the best hosts you can have. They’ve helped us with basically anything: the best spots to go at, how to buy a SIM card, how anything in the area works. the room was also clean and they both made sure we had the best stay possible. the best hosts I’ve ever had! They definitely played a huge factor in having an amazing stay. The pool is a huge plus and often empty so it feels like having a private swimming pool. the gardener showed us around the garden he keeps and, even though I barely speak Spanish, we communicated in creative ways and he showed me fruits around the property. it was amazing! we will definitely return for another stay

there wasn’t a thing I didn’t like

The room was very clean and comfortable and pleasant to be in. The gardens were superb and the pool area was very nice. It was extremely pleasant to take a dip after the long hot days. The Palma Central food court next door had live music a couple of the days and it was like having a private concert for us in the pool. Erica was extremely friendly and was nice enough to provide us with some fresh aloe leaves from her garden to help us with some sunburns. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Everything was great at Zamunda. Erica is such a great host. She provided all the necessary info (options for sight-seeing, eating, shopping etc.) and more while checking in (in fact some info was provided even earlier). The property is aesthetically pleasing, filled with plants, equipped with all amenities including a pool) and well maintained. The location is close to central Tulum which has all the shops and restaurants you would need for your trip. 100% value for money. I highly recommend staying at Erica's property while in Tulum.

Zamunda was the best part of our visit to Tulum 😊 Erica was so helpful from start to finish and the place is decorated very tastefully. Could be loud from music next door but it finished every night by about 9:30pm. Heading back to Zamunda at the end of each day was like our sanctuary and something we actually looked forward to. The bed was comfy, the room was clean, good shower facilities and there’s even a cute pool where you can meet other lodgers, or chill by yourself. You are left alone as the owners are very discreet however, at the send of a message, they get back to you straight away. It really is like a little oasis in the middle of Tulum Centro.
