the staff - amazing job done by front desk, always going the extra mile. thank you everyone at the front desk, especially Adan for organizing a massage/therapy on special request. thank you Walter, Jose & all the restaurant staff - the food is amazing!!! also the trips that were organized by the hotel are so great - we were taken to private cenote and had an amazing tour guide. all was just accustomed to our private and personal experience.

some parts of our (twin) room were kind of falling apart - the tap in the bathroom or the curtain closing wooden sticks. pillows are definitely too high and strong / flat pillows are necessary to add for a pillow menu.

The best hotel we stayed at on our vacation! We were met by a really friendly reception area and The staff who worked there was really helpfull, and The always greeted us with big smiles! We also got a free upgrade of our room, which was amazing! The atmosphere at The hotel was chill with spacious and beautifull outside area! The breakfasts were amazing! The room was spacious and well equipped with all essentials. We also had our privat balcony with our privat jacuzi! I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the tourists who want to visit tulum! Will be back to this place soon!

Room; we rented junior suite ( ocean view) and the room was spacious and had everything you may wish for. View is beautiful but if you want more privacy then go for top floor ( we had ground floor, still ok for privacy but obviously even better with top floor) . Bed is superb and the outdoor shower is nice! Really liked the room. Beach area: like it a lot, nice sun beds and enough space for all guest even if fully booked. free bikes, and free car park just outside was a plus!

Breakfast/dining area: could have been more cosy. missing some sofas and that lounge type feeling. Now it’s dark wooden bench and chairs. breakfast: the food was great! BUT when staying in a “5* property” costing up to 1400 Euro /night (we had great deal as last minute and it would never been worth 1400/night) you do not appreciate a breakfast card and being told that only 1 item is include anything additional one must pay for. I asked for a second coffee ( simple filter one) and even had to pay extra for that as only 1 coffee included. That is just stupid.

All of the food and drinks served in the hotel restaurant were exceptional. There wasn't a single item on the menu I tried that wasn't delicious. The hotel was quiet and clean, not a place for partying, which is precisely what we were looking for in a relaxing getaway. It's a little ways away from both Tulum City and the main chunk of restaurants/nightlife, but you can quickly travel by foot, taxi, bike, or scooter to anywhere you need to get. We walked south to restaurants several times, and it was no big deal. The staff was so gracious and attentive. We were very comfortable and well taken care of the entire time.

The whole area where the hotel is located is more expensive in general. Once you travel to town, the prices drop considerably.

The location was central on the beach relatively close to town. The facility was well designed and tranquil, the staff was amazing tending to your every need. The food was well thought out and presented amazingly congratulations to the chefs. All is aligned for a great experience.

The management of insects in the rooms needs improvement, the maids and room service need to make sure the door isn't left open. I suggest providing bug solutions for the rooms and relief for the guests who happen to get attacked. Advice on what to do when attacked would help including some remedies would be good.

I visited the property during the beginning of July and cannot fault the hotel or the staff at all. I predominantly was visiting the hotel to propose to my girlfriend on the beach, the staff were unbelievably helpful in supporting the organisation of the day but also complimentary throughout my stay. The food is absolutely outstanding and surprised me as to just how good it was. Special shout-out to Zacil who was extremely prompt in responding to any queries and issues as well as Jose from the breakfast staff for accommodating all our requests and the top service. I had an unforgettable experience as it will always be where I got engaged to my partner but also memorable for just how special the staff made the occasion!

I wasn’t expecting as much seaweed on the beach!

The property is small and intimate, which meant I had the staff’s undivided attention. The front desk team — Claudio and Dyanne —responded to requests quickly and efficiently at all times, and provided excellent recommendations for places to dine based on knowing my interests. The restaurant/beach staff were wonderful and especially Jose and Gabriel who made me feel pampered. the rooms were beautifully designed and all comforts and amenities were available. I especially loved the outdoor shower and private patio area. I can’t recommend Ma’xanab more for a stay in Tulum.

We loved staying here. It was only for 3 days but we will return for longer next time. Luis did 2 of the best massages I have ever had. he has fantastic hands and is amazing and I thoroughly recommend booking him while staying. The food and drinks were very good Juan, Jose and Hermelindo provided great friendly service on the beach and at breakfast. The front desk ladies were very helpful and friendly We loved the beach set up and palapa beds. The room was lovely and comfortable and the private dipping pool a great place to relax. Thoroughly recommended.

the only thing we would improve on would be better choice of pillows and some linens.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, with beautiful design and interior architecture. Furthermore, the staff (including the manager Rodrigo) are exceptional - they really understand what 5 stars looks like. The food was also top class.

The only thing I couldn’t understand is the extremely high price (we paid ~650 USD per night). If I compare this rate to Ibiza, Mykonos or even Dubai (which are all expensive locations) I really can’t justify paying so much money for a beach covered in smelly seaweed on the one side, and a road full of puddles and potholes on the other side of the hotel.

The hotel has only 16 rooms and is excellently located in the heart of the Tulum hotel zone, have a very nice beach access and sunbathing area while the property still feels secluded from the noise of the party scene (daytime and nighttime as well). Every member of the staff was super helpful and kind during our stay and gave good recommendations on eating out, transportation, etc. We like quality electronic music and was particularly pleased with the music selection & volume when hanging out on the beach or in the beachfront bar / restaurant. Worth mentioning this beachside restaurant where the food was always above expectations!

The room we have been staying in shows some minor signs of use in the bathroom. Also the room was buried behind a lot of beautiful plants (not even visible on the right side on the photo uploaded) which blocked some sunlight as well as airflow therefore the humidity was a little high while ventilation less than desirable in the room. We have also stopped using the A/C as the combination of these factors made the room a little unpleasant and cold. However we believe this complaint should be treated as a very subjective one from our side. Tulum is a relatively expensive travel destination which sometimes manifested in unreasonable prices beyond the service experienced (daily transportation on short distances, food & beverages).
