Our beachfront accommodation was wonderfully rustic elegance with views of the whole beach. The breeze kept the mosquitoes at bay so we didn't need repellant. It was fabulously quiet, with a large, really comfortable bed and air con. Adriana and Gonzalo were super helpful ahead of our visit, arranging a brilliant sian kaan tour with community tours, which included a warm, lazy river and lots of time with manatees. The staff also helped me to release a baby turtle into the sea that had found its way into the hotel, which was magical. They gave us great recommendations for eating out each day. The private parking was also really good and the staff were great at managing the locked entrance. The breakfast was a light start to the day but there were options to buy more.

Pros: 1. The location is great, easy biking or walking distance to other places for things like yoga and food 2. It's small and private. There is no restaurant or beach club, so the few beds and oceanfront are just for guests and there are no crowds. 3. Free bikes, although they are not in the best condition 4. Free access to a cenote at the end of the beach road. It's a beautiful peaceful spot 5. Free breakfast, although simple, is helpful considering how expensive food is at the beach 6. 24/7 staff available at the front desk 7. Private car service to and from airport 8. Amazing sunrise view from the Deluxe Oceanfront room

Cons: Note that these things are very common throughout the beach, so not really a big deal 1. Poor wifi connection in room 2. Pool water was cloudy so I wasn't sure about going in

Really friendly staff, small breakfast that was brought to you, beach access, free bike rentals, and access to a cenote free of charge!

The only thing I didn't like was the limited AC hours and the location of the AC unit. I knew this coming in, however, I did not anticipate how hot the room would get. I opened up the windows but that only helped so much since the windows of my room were not facing the direction of the wind. Sadly, it was more cooler outside than it was in my room. I also feel like the AC unit should be moved to a different location to ensure the whole room cools down. I noticed the only area that cooled down was in front of the unit. Thankfully there is a ceiling fan above the bed. This may or may not be a deal breaker for some.

The staff was the highlight!! Special thanks to Renato and Jorge for being so kind and attentive our entire stay. We loved the unique experience of staying in the “jungle” on the beach. Not noted, is that they offer free bike rental, which was very convenient! The rooms were spacious but it can get hot and AC only works at night. Lastly, the fact that we were able to support a sustainable/eco friendly property was very special to us.

Staying in the “jungle” has its pros and cons, such as the bugs and limited hot water. The breakfast was very light (but delicious nonetheless).

The place is absolutely gorgeous, a beautiful mix of beach style construction and nature with lots of green. I think we were bare foot the whole time we were there. The beach is right there and we could hear the ocean at night. As opposed to other hotels in the area, this one was very quiet and we had a great sleep at night. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff there, Adriana, Renato, and Gonzalo, were incredibly friendly and they helped us with everything we needed. We also visited the private cenote in their sister hotel which is an absolute gem, quiet and hidden away from people.

The hotel's location was great, as it was right in the middle of Tulum's Hotel Zone, providing lots of dining, drinking, and entertainment opportunities. We were pleasantly surprised by the room size, which was larger than what we had anticipated from the pictures. Moreover, the entire staff was extremely friendly and responsive, always willing to assist us with any requests. Considering that comparable options in the same area were twice as expensive, we felt that this hotel was an excellent value for money.

The beach was clean but the sea was not super clear to swim. Maybe it's a seasonal thing. Having one more plug socket close to the bed would be ideal, but it's not a big deal. The breakfast was very basic but healthy.

We absolutely loved our stay at Posada Lamar. The garden bungalow was only a few steps from the beach and there were plenty of shaded and non-shaded spots to spend the day lounging by the ocean. There are bikes that you can borrow for free but we ended up walking everywhere. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a couple hours between when we checked out and when we could check in at our next hotel. While we couldn't do a late check out, Adrianna held our bags in the front office so we could hang out on the beach while we waited for our taxi. We felt so welcome and at home at Posada Lamar! Perfect place for a couple looking for a serene getaway.

Absolutely beautiful. Amazing place to wake up on the beach. Staff are lovely, they are always busy cleaning or maintaining the hotel. Pool was amazing too and clean. Very reasonable price compared to surrounding hotels. Would definitely book again. Our shower was leaking on arrival and someone came and fixed it instantly which was great.

Breakfast is OK, it could be better. Maybe some juice and different fruits. We didn't have a lock safe in our room and one of our windows didn't shut properly which made us nervous as we couldn't securely store our valuables anywhere. The rooms are advertised to come with a safe so there should be one. We stayed in Cristal room.

Breakfast was good but on the small side. I didn’t mind that it was continental but one slice of toast per person is bit stingy. However when I asked for more coffee they did bring it immediately and there after always gave me enough for two cups. The pool is lovely, the rooms beautiful, the location on the beach amazing. They moved me to a spectacular room because it was available and I had the best time, and the staff were lovely.

As I said a tiny bit more toast!! There’s no food apart from that but the place next door is happy to serve you on the beach area and even at our pool.

Loved everything, I will definitely be visiting again hopefully sooner than later! The staff had a great attitude and service towards everything. I wish I wish my stay would've been longer. I left an object behind and contacted them and receive a fast reply with a picture of the object I left behind which they told me they would keep safe for me until I could get it. The location is perfect! If you are a walker, there is no problem walking towards the center of everything because of the scenery and vibes on the way. Mateos was so good! Passion Fruit Margs got me obsessed! The breakfast included with the hotel was so good, light and healthy as well! I went in Jan, so if you go in that month ask for an extra blanket lol. Stay here!!!!

It got super cold throughout the night and the wifi connection in the room was not the nest but that is it!!!!
