I received excellent service from the staff member who admitted me on Saturday afternoon. I had trouble working my TV, however, she was very helpful with that. I'd also forgotten to bring a USB plug so was unable to charge my phone or tablet, however, she provided me with a spare USB plug which I left in my room so all was sorted. I have about half a dozen of these at home but had forgotten to bring one but I remembered everything else this time. I intend to comme back very soon to do the Brick Bay winery and sculpture Trail at Snell's Beach. Excellent room service with towers being changed

it would have been good to have some snacks and plunger coffee in my room but no big deal. I did miss my smart TV with Netflix but, at least, I could watch the Chase

Our room was on the second level having to use outside steps to get to. Car was below and also had the restaurant very close. For a one night stay it was all we needed and very comfortable. Liked the big TV and had access to all channels on Sky. They also had a good workable area for your tea/coffee making and a 300ml tub of milk, not those piddling pottles that hold a tsp of milk. Small fridge underneath was adequate for the length of time we were there.

The only thing we thought could be improved was the bathroom, probably needed a revamp especially the shower door and the full flush on the toilet was sticking. Basin was a good size but felt not very practical especially when you had bar soap with nowhere to really put it except on the wood vanity which would leave a slimy mess.

My wife and I flew into Auckland and were travelling to the Bay of Islands and decided to spend our first night in Warkworth. It's a beautiful town, just big enough to have good facilities and restaurants, and the Bridgehouse Lodge is a shining example. Check in was easy and friendly, the building is very old but the room had been renovated nicely. We had dinner downstairs which was excellent. The hotel is right in the middle of town so you can walk to anywhere in Warkworth you care to visit. We loved it.

We stayed mid summer and the room was very hot. There was no air conditioning, but there was a fan and the windows could be opened, so it was not a huge problem.

very welled set out room, very basic double bed and single bed in room, a Very big tv and good sky tv channels .The wifi password was well worded on the wall.. This room had the very basics which every person needs for a room for a quick stay.

small kitchen no sink to fill jug for a coffee (there was a bathroom sink which you were able to get a little bit of water into the jug). (shame no hot chocolate power supplied only tea and coffee) No seal on the shower so a lot of water when showering went on the floor.

The restaurant was excellent. The ambiance was lovely, the menu sounded great, our chosen meal was delicious, and our server was excellent too. The location was fabulous.

I didn't find the bed terribly comfortable, as I like quite a soft mattress. I know that doesn't suit everyone, so I can't fault the room for that. A mattress cover or foam overlay could be offered for those who need a softer surface. I did find the pillow too thick and/or too firm, and it would be great if the room had a few different pillows so occupants could choose the loft that suits them best. I'm sure many people would have found the bed and pillows just perfect, so again, this isn't a criticism of the property and merely a suggestion for how it could better accommodate a range of guest preferences.

Good location close to shops, with off-street parking. Quiet room with good bed and shower.

No in-room food preparation facility for breakfast and hotel bar offered none. Bar was too noisy for dinner; loud voices plus bass beat of indecipherable "music". Found better choice elsewhere. Impossible to find continental style breakfast nearby, but good cooked food found nearby.,

He tangata! Fabulous staff! Every single person we encountered was very friendly and professional!

The decor in the accommodation hallways needed a bit of imagination as it could have oozed old world charm for little effort. Please fix the doors and locks - we thought the whole building would have been disturbed every time we passed through! But all in all ,that is part of the charm…

Excellent location just off the main road north,, easy to find with parking on site. Attractive location overlooking the river and 2 mins walk into town for shopping and eating. Also ate at the attached Restaurant which offered very good meals at reasonable prices plus bar facilities. Ideal for the overnight traveller looking for a bed for one night.

The facilities are tired and smelled musty in the hallway although our room was dry enough. Ground floor room (first time we stayed) was subject to traffic noise. Upstairs a bit quieter. Main thing that didn't work for us was lack of proper fridge facilities. Just a bottle cooler really and the food we brought with us unfroze even when wrapped. Did stay cool enough to get to our destination next day. But if staying longer than one night or with very perishable items would need to make other arrangements. Perhaps ask to store in kitchen of the restaurant although did not explore this option so may/may not be possible.

Loved everything about this property from the staff, to the location, atmosphere, rooms and facilities.

A wee bit dated but absolutely above what we expected. I don’t think the overall reviews reflect the true quality of this accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the accommodation and amenities for our 2 night stay in Warkworth.

The Bridgehouse is located centrally in Warkworth village so it's an easy walk from the bus stop and so close to cafes, supermarkets, an interesting art gallery and other shops for exploring. The weir flows near to the bridge with multple cascading waterfalls and a river path is dappled in light with various seating to sit and enjoy nature with an icecream treat. I especially enjoyed this and was able to cool down after the heat of the journey. The Savana bakery is also a must, a favourite with locals, its delicious range of home baked food is mouthwatering. Recommend the apricot slice.
