The motel is absolutely brilliant. My husband and I stayed there with our daughter and four grandchildren. The family room was perfect for them with everything they needed and was spacious and comfortable. The motel location is stunning,right on the beachfront and so handy to all the shops as well. The owners are so helpful,friendly,welcoming and accomodating and the cleanliness of the rooms is absolutely exceptional.

Lack of parking (got told I have designated park, left and came back all park were full. Not a good feeling to have to leave car on road when I was told there is a park for every unit) Too much foot traffic on balcony to have privacy . Maybe rooms need net curtains or tinted windows Balcony could have another form of seperation from neighbours.

The location was amazing, right on the beach, and close to shops, the staff were very helpful whenever we requested assistance- would highly recommend!

It was the only one motel out of 5 we stayed in on our holiday throughout the north island that didn't have available laundry facilities and we had to try and hunt down a laundromat most days due to being on beach and very sandy clothes every day!

Check in and out by friendly hosts and really appreciated the early check in as requested. Loved being in the unit with sea views amazing and being able to walk out your door and steps away from a stroll on the beach wonderful. It was a very clean and tidy unit with well chosen furniture. Quiet and peaceful even though large groups of people staying in other areas of Edgewater. Location to Orewa shops brilliant and easy stroll to local store. Parking a plus. Wish was staying longer.

Bed was a little low but comfortable and need to watch the entry into bathroom as trip hazard where tile meets carpet on floor. Exterior stairs very steep, shame that the NEW stairs in front of unit were not built less steep. Interior a little tired ie wall paper peeling off in patches, old fixtures. Extra plugs in lounge area would be usual for charging phones etc. Cannot open fridge when bedroom door shut - rehang door other side might work.

The motel is right on the beach, with direct access (we could hear the waves at night, which was lovely). The town of Orewa is just a 10-minute walk down the road, with restaurants, shops etc. Our unit was well-equipped and perfectly set up. The decor is dated, but it was all immaculately clean. The owners were lovely and made us feel at ease. We had a great time!

It’s a very well maintained motel that offers great value for the money. The place is clean, has all the necessities and is located straight next to the beach. We only stayed for one night on our way to South but could easily have stayed longer.

The fire alarm didn’t really make us happy as it alarmed every time we lit the stove top for breakfast eggs of simple heating up some food.

Right on an excellent beach - only three meters away. The host and hostess were absolutely brilliant - extremely friendly and extremely helpful, The building was very old but exceptionally clean and well maintained.

There was nothing whatsoever to dislike. One of the most restful and beautiful/peaceful places we have ever encountered. As stated earlier with perfect host/hostess in attendance.

This motel is on the beautiful beach at Orewa. Lovely that it wasn't a high rise motel We were late arriving due to car problems and the hosts made sure the heater was on for us such a nice touch. Comfortable beds with nice linen

Like a lot of accommodation places that have come through COVID and survived it is tired and needs to be painted and modernized however i would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We loved the generous space and size of the Family Room. We loved the fact that we had a descent size table to eat at! Also the fact that it was a stand alone was great!

The overall lounge bathroom and kitchen is looking a bit tired and it did take a while to heat up the lounge and particularly bedrooms. My daughter swapped rooms the second night as her room near the garage was incredibly cold.

This is an older motel which I love as there are so many new impersonal places one can stay. If you want value for money kindness and lovely staff warm clean facilities with 2-minute access to the Orewa Beach and or an ocean view. I highly recommend this place. Let's keep NZ older style places. alive and well not taken down so only the few can stay at places that are impersonal and lack value for money.
