I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Orchard three times before (for work-leisure) in Singapore and I love it for the following reasons: 1. STAFF: The front desk / reception staff are highly professional, polite, friendly and solve problems efficiently. There was a problem with the laundry change machine in the evening. They did not have the key to open up the change machine as the admin people had left for the day. Instead, the front desk people (two young University-aged people, who worked on October 7th at around 9:00 pm) solved the problem by grabbing change around the Orchard area for my bills so that I can do laundry. Another time that the staff went far and beyond was when the concierge (Rasheed) managed to find me a taxi during peak hours to make my medical appt at a clinic. He was very efficient and helpful. I was in such a bind but he managed to find me a taxi within 10 mins. 2. CLEANLINESS: This is the cleanest Holiday Inn I have ever been to around the world. The cleaning staff are impeccable in their skills but after living in SG for 7 years, this is the expectation. My room is cleaned daily and it always smells "clean". The items are always restocked and I can tell how fresh the sheets are even if I don't ask them to change it. 3. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: As most of my business affairs and meetings were in the Orchard and CBD area, it was very easy to get around. Singapore is wonderful in its transportation network and system but Orchard is amazing in the sense that you can get around quickly for both business and leisure. You are never bored either due to the amount of restaurants, shops, cafes and malls.

THE FOOD: I am appalled by the quality of the food in terms of Singapore standards. The paid daily breakfast that came with my room was ok. The eggs were always runny. The items served were mostly of the carbs group and lacked protein items. The dinner (Singapore laksa) that I ordered for room service was served to me lukewarm with fish ball / chicken ball meat rather than real chicken or real prawns. I can tell that it was cooked earlier and just warmed in the microwave.

The location is fantastic - within a few steps you're in the heart of a lively district with plenty of food and shopping choices. The hotel itself was very modern and practical, and we loved the included breakfast buffet. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly as well.

The fitness center is outdoors - for us it was not practical to do cardio in high heat and humidity. We also heard late night/early morning construction noises (not the fault of the hotel, but with the very central location, it's something to keep in mind that might happen).

Check in was handled smoothly by Mika. Hotel location is excellent, very near MRT and shopping centres (Takashimaya, Paragon etc). Polite and attentive staff.

Breakfast could have peanut butter

The location is good and a clean hotel.

The breakfast food not varieties. From my experience on my last day stay, there was sick people sat there while other guests were eating. The sick guests were coughing with pleghm and spitting in the plastic with the care of their care taker. Its a little uncomfortable for other guests and I m sure the sick person also feel uncomfortable. I would suggest, during the checking in, if the reception staffs notice a sick elderly people, probably hotel can be nice and offer a room service for their breakfast to enjoy at their comfort during the stay so that everyone can enjoy the meal in comfort.

Location was excellent as central to the places we were visiting in Singapore. Breakfast had enough variety for a 5 day period. the pastry's didn't free fresh and could be improved. Room was large enough for 2 people, but a 3rd would have been too crowded. Overall good experience and would stay again and also recommend as value for money.

there was not much I didn't like

The hotel's location is perfect. It's a few steps away from Paragon Mall and The Hereen and just across the road from Takashimaya. There are other malls that are a few steps away from it. Closest MRT station is Somerset. Facilities are well-kept and clean. I especially liked their ice and vending machines at the 4th floor. Breakfast spread is decent with variety of options, but don't expect a mile-long buffet spread. It has a variety of hot drinks, juices, cereals, fruits, bread/butter/jams, rice/noodles, meat, cold cuts, etc. There is also a self-service Starbucks counter behind the lobby. As it was alternatingly hot and raining during our stay, the hotel's umbrella was handy and always available. The bathroom had the necessary toiletries at hand. The room had its vault, mini refrigerator, iron/iron board, desk, sufficient cabinets and a good-sized smart TV. The beds and pillows were comfy. Check-in and check-out were both a breeze! All in all, it was a wonderful stay!

Enjoy eating cornflakes with low-fat milk. Breakfast is delicious, but coffee is too bitter. The room is quite small but very clean, and the bathroom is so clean. The best thing is the hotel is not far from the shopping center.

The fire alarm woke me up at 4 o'clock in the morning, and I had to walk from floor 9 to floor 1. It appears that nothing is occurring at the moment. This seems to be a new experience for me.

First of all the reason for our stay in this hotel is the very convenient location for our purpose of this trip -shopping. We can go shopping and return to the hotel to deposit our bags. In retrospect, we wish that we can just leave our items in the concierge and resume our shopping. This way we can cut the time in going up and down the lift.

The door in the main bathroom and the bath area. It was uncommon for a one door to share two purpose. Having said this, when we close the door to the bath area, the air from the main bedroom is goin in the bathroom. I know this is minor.

Great Orchard Road location, breakfast and well appointed room. Lawrence from Reception was super helpful when we checked out and needed a taxi to the airport when it was pouring with rain and taxis were hard to come by. He also made us very comfortable in the eatery area whilst we waited for the taxi.

The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable for me but the reception and room service departments helped out with some extra bedding with no hesitation at all.

Firstly, for an "express" or more budget hotel, everything was of high standard. The breakfast was generous and delicious. But especially the staff who are always so nice and extremely helpful. Shout out to the cleaners who greet us every morning and do a wonderful job tidying up our room.

Location was perfect and convenient but our taxis keep confusing it with the Orchard Road Holiday Inn. Not a deal breaker just a note.
