I don’t rate properties much but making an exception for this one. When booking a place to stay in Seoul for two weeks I was fully prepared to be dropping a lot of money on a place to stay in the heart of the city, but Aroha is cheap yet fair. You have shared bathrooms but they’re clean and there’s multiple to use at anytime, washing machine services are cheap (500₩) and easy to use too. The location in fantastic as it’s a brief walk to Namsan tower for an easy hike up a small mountain and less than a 10 minute walk from Seoul station, it’s very easy to get to via train from both airports though the host will arrange a taxi if you’d prefer (it’ll be pricey from Incheon) The host is very accommodating and easy to reach via WhatsApp’s for most hours.

The key would sometimes struggle to fit in the lock for my room and room cleaning services were only offered once halfway through my two week stay, though you might be able to increase that if you request it. Though given the price you pay these are trite complaints considering everything you get instead. Would recommend for anyone on a budget, or for those who don’t wanna drop close to £2k on a hotel

Aroha was in a great location, not far from Seoul Station. The room wasn't huge, but there was a space to put our backpacks elsewhere which really helped. A limited breakfast was included in the price (cereal and toast, juice and coffee), which made our lives much easier. Overall though, a good price and location.

As we were in a hostel we were sharing a bathroom, but some visitors used it very late, so it was a bit noisier than expected. The hosts were friendly, though one was constantly in the kitchen doing laundry whilst guests were trying to have breakfast which was a bit annoying.

I didn't have the breakfast, I never do. So I can't tell you about that. I was super happy with the staff, the Aroha Guesthouse is a family business and Jay [whose English is great] and his father [whose google translate skills are impeccable] are simply wonderful. I could not have had more help planning my activities. I was very comfortable, had everything I needed and the location was fabulous. Only a few minutes to get to the Soul Train Station, which gets you most places easily. Also I was given clear easy instructions to get to Aroha from the airport by train, which is quick, easy and very cheap.

Having to leave, all the people I met were so friendly and helpful.

Love the location, its within walking distance to Seoul station. Theres an Olive Young down the road which was very convenient too. Jay and his dad were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Prompt response whenever we had any enquiry. The guesthouse is very clean. Breakfast, water dispenser and an umbrella were provided. The bathroom is clean but during our stay certain other guests did not keep the proper etiquette when it comes to using the toilet. Otherwise, a warm hospitality from Jay and his dad. 😄 Highly recommend for you to stay here if you’re on a trip with friends.

So many great things about this guest house. There is free breakfast (cereal, toast) and laundry. The room is small but perfect with storage. The location is good, right beside seoul metro exit 12. The staff are really friendly.

There are alot of homeless in this area so I would not use the shortcut lane after dark but if you walk another minute there is the main road which felt safer. The walls are like paper so if you have rude guests that are loud, it will be very loud. The shower is located in the middle of the floor so all of the toilet gets wet.

Good location. Jay sent me clear instructions to find the guesthouse by whatsapp. This is the only gueshouse which allowed me to check in before 3pm and a staff helped me to carry my luggage upstairs. The room has everything I need including floor heating and dressing table with mirror. A 7-11 convenience store almost next door. A lot of restaurants near seoul station.

Shower is not very hot maybe because i shower at night. Breakfast is a bit too simple even for S.Korea standards. Not a big problem because I left super early for a day tour and the second day I wanted to have a big lunch.

very close to Seoul station exit 12. Great base to explore the city, very comfortable bed. Basic breakfast with cornflakes, bread and coffee tea etc. Super clean and a very friendly host who speaks English very well. Ability to store luggage and use the facilities after having checked out on departure date.

Due to the temperature in May it is essential to use the air conditioning to cool down the room - even at night time for some of the time. I am not used to sleeping with noises from the AC.

The room was small but perfect. Sufficient space. Comfortable bed and pillows. Enough area to put luggage and clothes. Room was very warm despite the extreme cold weather. I slept like a baby. Very clean room and bathroom. There is always towels and other amenities outside the room. Its a shared bathroom but always clean. The property is in a central location just minutes walk away from Seoul Station. 10/10 will come again.

Jay and his father were so kind and they care of us very well. The room and bathrooms were clean and they use good quality shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast consist of toasted bread, butter, jam, corn flakes, orange juice and coffee/tea. One of the best things about the guesthouse is you can get good quality of coffee 24 hours for free from the common area.

Great location close to Seoul Train Station. It is a fairly basic building. I had a double room which was big enough for me to open my large case on the floor and a desk to use my laptop. Staff were very nice and very helpful. I feel that it is very safe and secure. They pack a lot of facilities into a small building, including a washer and dryer which is free to use. Breakfast is simple - corn flakes or toast. But they do have a coffee machine and a variety of teas.
