We have been to Playa Blanca several times over the last few years and have stayed in different types of accommodation but always self-catering .This time we decided to stay in a hotel. We knew we're the Mirador was located and liked the location as we enjoy the walk into the marina and then into town. We had a sea view room over looking the pool and then sea it was a perfect view .The room was plenty big and very light and clean. Having a small fridge was handy for drinks We were on a half board basis. Which was fine .I had read a lot of the comments about the food, so was a little concerned.We were presently surprised. We enjoyed the breakfasts plenty of choice hot or cold. Dinner we always found something that we liked .Lots of healthy choices. The staff worked very had to keep food topped up and tables cleared. We managed to sit out side for most of the week .We found it nice and relaxed and it was worth waiting a little for a table. We didn't go to the evening entertainment only because we either went for a stroll or were very happy to sit and have a drink on the terrace over looking the pool and sea. All the staff were polite and helpful, the chambermaid did a wonderful job each day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quite location and a chilled out holiday. Would definitely go back next time we make it to Playa Blanca.

charging for water with dinner. I spoke to the manager and explained that most good restaurants give complimentary water. we were half board. he very kindly waived any charge for the rest of our stay.

It offered everything we needed. Two good pools neither ever busy. Lots of sunbeds. We stayed in the family area so there were children playing in the pool in the pm but the balcony got nice evening sun. Staff were so helpful. It was a lovely walk down the paved coast path to the marina which has great shops and restaurants and is very attractive. It’s out of the hussle of the centre but easy to walk there. The walk to papagayo beaches was stunning but not for the unfit. Fabulous restaurant on cliff tops. Hired a car, lots of parking. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The room was actually a suite w small kitchen. Plenty of food choices, not haute cuisine but adequate. Its very resonanly priced to include breakfast and dinner.

The dining room is completely souless. If you can get a table outside its not so institutional. It has no view and is depressing.

Sea View Room was glorius. What a view ! Well worth the small extra. Breakfast buffet was quite good with most tastes accomodated for.

Dinner buffet was very much canteen like food so, while edible, don't expect restaurant quality food. Cocktails and drinks were clearly watered down so looks like the all inclusive option is not to be recommended. I would have preferred the option to book breakfast only rather than the half board option I had to book.

Just a superb hotel and almost everything was perfect

Having to pay for water at dinner time because we were on half board. You can get water freely at breakfast but the water dispenser is off limits at dinner time Maybe it's a cultural thing but it is mean spirited and petty. To put it in perspective you can get 1.5L of water in local shop for .29 cent but they charge 2.10 for .5L. To the hotel management give free water at dinner then I might be more inclined to purchase soft drinks or wine with my dinner

The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the quality of service at the bars, dining room and kitchen staff. The selection of food and the facilities were virtually faultless and anyone who wants a relaxing time away with everything to hand, even to the point of signing receipts off and paying at check out rather than carrying cash around was brilliant.

Now we found the Hotel and staff virtually faultless but sadly it would have been nice to have some of the facilities of the Rubicon nearer the Papagoyo area rather than a 25 minute walk to them. Maybe nearer the peak season there may be more free shuttle bussed rather than the 3 each way we had last week.

The staff were very friendly, special mention to Assia who helped us to check into the hotel - answering all our questions with a very pleasant attitude. Stunning view from our hotel balcony, definitely worth the extra charge.

In our opinion the standard of food in the restaurant was very poor, simple examples include the orange juice tasting like weakly diluted orange squash and the fresh fruit was still frozen on one of the evenings.

Staff were excellent, plenty of sun loungers, room cleaned and fresh bed every day. Relaxing atmosphere around the pool, the pool itself was brilliant and plenty of space, with a keep fit activity every day. Couldn't fault the hotel it self. The views from the room looking out over the bay were exceptional.

Not enough snack options during the day, very basic and for 4 star all inclusive I'd expect better. Food in general was OK, but hit and miss. Again for all inclusive I'd expect more options at meal times, however what ever food was available was mostly very nice. Its the 1st all inclusive I've been to where the pool bar wasn't open during the day, The so called privilege lounge for those who booked superior room is non existent

Loved the location this side of Playa Blanca. Lovely walk along promenade to Rubicon Marina and beyond. Also walkable to the unspoilt sandy beaches of Papagayo. Food was agreeable with enough choice to find something you liked or fancied.

The Dining area lacked atmosphere for evening dinner and was a bit canteenish. Maybe some table linen and candles would improve the evening atmosphere. We always tried to dress smart for dinner as requested by the hotel but some people still turned up in baggy tee shirts and shorts. Kind of spoilt the atmosphere. Would like to see a smarter evening dining experience. Casual at breakfast is fine. Always very busy but you got used to it.

Great location, beautiful and well equipped rooms/studios, very clean and very friendly staff

The only slight disappointment about the hotel was the food. The dinner buffet was not always that delicious… (meat and fish often salty and dry in camparison to our taste). Luckily the breakfast buffet was good! The dinner/breakfast room was also very noisy (accoustics not so good), so we were very happy when we could sit outsid. Unfortunately not that many seatings available outside.
