Very well managed hotel, excellent attention to detail. Staff work very hard and are very attentive. Buffet breakfast & dinner exceeded expectations with a good choice and variety of food. Meals were well prepared and everything was spotlessly clean and well presented. Great facilities too, with lots of space to hang out and relax. Rooms were tasteful, well presented and equipped with nothing looking tired or due for a refurb. We were really impressed with this hotel, an excellent choice (probably the best) if you’re staying in the north of the island. RIU Garoe is definitely a four star hotel. Sadly many other hotels these days promote themselves as being four star when clearly they’re not! This is a big problem and very misleading. Pound for pound I’d say this hotel is one of the best I’ve stayed in. A big ‘well done and thank you’ to Hotel RIU Garoe!

My wife and me had an incredible stay at this hotel! The staff was absolutely amazing, always there to assist with any questions or requests we had. The food was exceptional, with a wide range of delicious options that left our taste buds satisfied. The facilities were perfect, from the well-appointed rooms to the fantastic pool and spa. And let's not forget the hotel's stunning beauty, both in its architecture and interior design. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. We picked it as our honeymoon destination and we highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable stay!

Everything was perfect

Everything was amazing! Our family opted for half board and was a really good choice. Breakfast and dinner were superb with a wide range of choices. All was very tasted! Staff was super friendly (Rachel was extra helpful) and they accommodated our requests, especially for the baby. Room was super clean (thanks Domi!) and was the perfect size for us. The balcony had an incredible view especially during sunrise and sunset. We had few SPA treatments as well and the people were lovely and price was a deal! Swimming pool was super well organised and there was a swimming pool for children as well. My baby had great fun in it! We will definitely go back in the next years. Very satisfied 🙏❤️

Considering that this is not a small hotel the quality of the hotel was exceptional. There was enough high quality choice during breakfast and dinner for one week stay. Hotel is super clean - rooms, garden and pool area are nice. With a small child this is an optimal choice. Easy parking by the street can be found nearby. There is a short drive to the mountains from here. I believe it is hard to find better option for one week stay in Puerto Cruz. Northern part of Tenerife is greener than south.

Some noise during the night in our room from building technology. It must be noted that for bigger kids, there is not much to do and to reach the city center, you must must take a long walk or the free mini-van provided by the hotel. Neither of these was a problem for us, because we had rented a car and our son enjoyed playing in a small children's pool. Note also that if you want seaview, sun is not shining to your balcony (this is north coast).

The food here was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The range of cheese could be better though. Although buffet style, the food was freshly cooked, some during the service itself. The location has lovely views in all directions. It is on a hill, which means the walk back from town may be tiring. But there is a good shuttle service into town. There are colourful shrubs all round the hotel. Walking towards the sea brings you to a coastal path. Turning right or left, you have lovely views up to the hills and across the bay. Walking to the left, you get closer to the town without descending too much. After a view over the town you can turn back rather than walk right down.

Was surprised they charged for the room safe. In most hotels it is free and encourages good security from the guests.

The spa was great. The breakfast and dinner at the the RIU was also delightful. Staff were courteous, helpful. Overall, I had a wonderful stay.

I think the Spa department needs more people on staff. They would be away doing massages but there was no one to tend to the bookings so people had to fill out a sign up sheet. Many overlooked the sheet and assumed staff wasn't available. Besides that, the spa services were excellent. My favorite part of the trip.

This hotel gives you 5 star treatment for 4 star prices. The rooms are very well laid out, good sized TV, plenty of room, nice bathrooms, very comfortable beds. Their pool beds have lovely cushions, plenty of towels without this deposit nonsense and a very helpful pool guy. There is a wonderful feeling of calmness and relaxation about the hotel. The Spa is clean with great facilities. Shuttle down to town is great. Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely stay their again.

1) wonderful restaurant with freshly cooked food and welcoming staff where I enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners 2) quiet neighbours (even though walls are thin) - partly due to the fact that the majority of hotel's guests are German seniors.

1) the printed and online information on hotel's services is weak - the most trustful information can be acquired at reception only (again I think it has something to do with the main target audience) 2) apart from reception and restaurant staff hotel's maids are not very good at English, besides they have a nasty habit to knock on the door and almost immediately open it with their key, regardless of what you're doing at that time.

Upon late evening arrival the hotel received us very well. Our rooms were prepared, with a cold dinner which we were not expecting at all. The Breakfast and dinner had a superb spread with multiple cooking stations and the facilities, pool, spa etc were of a great standard and luxury.

The beds weren't as comfort as I thought they would be. Also the air-conditioning and ventilation in the room were as updated and good as the hotel which gave me difficult sleeps at night.

Really nice hotel with fantastic breakfast and dinner options. We took the the half board package and really enjoyed our stay. There is also spa and massage available on site to book. Pool are is very nice and clean, and all in all great hotel to stay.

Hotel charges per day to use room safe. These days pretty much all hotels have free room safes to use to keep ones travel documents secure. Also, there was no kettle in the room for one to make tea neither complimentary water bottles were provided which is standard for 4-star or above hotels.
