The lake view was breathtaking. Gorgeous grounds and gardens. Plenty of chairs and tables as well for rest and contemplation...some thoughtfully placed in the shade of a handsome tree. The open air breakfasts were a delight. Truely fabulous. To get to this hotel from the ferry look out for the LIDO BUS. If you cannot see the bus look out for the bus stop, look left . The bus is co-ordinated with the ferry time-table. For 3CHF you'll get an open carriage ride up the hill...yes it is a real hill!!..to the hotel. To get to the lido you do not need to re-connect with the bus as you can take a short cut through the fields. Walking behind the hotel into the cherry orchards is also rather wonderful. The hotel provides free access to the lido.

Oooh Errr the tiny shower...so if you are more than 5'8" you will not fit in at all well...and if 6' no chance at all. I was in the handsome old building...the original hotel...very low ceilings. You might do better to request a room in the new barn convertion.

A beautiful and quiet location away from traffic and noise yet not far from the lake. Walk to pier takes about 20 minutes but there is an option of minibus which takes cash only. Our room commanded a spectacular open view to the lake and the knoll. Shower room is spacious, clean and well-equipped. Would have been perfect if there were an electric fan in the room in the super-hot summer nights. But thanks to the windows in the shower room and the doors to the balcony, at least ventilation was good. Dinner at the hotel restaurant should not be missed and must be booked in advance. Obviously it is famous and popular for good reasons! As a cat-lover, I had the exceptional honour to have “Bella” sleeping by my side throughout my birthday dinner. It was a special birthday treat!

This is our second visit to the hotel. We thought that it was excellent but this time it was even better!. The owners are visible on a daily basis interacting with the guests, staff are friendly and attentive and the food is sublime.We had a room that overlooked the lake and I could've spend hours just looking at the scenery! On the second day that we were there, it was the end of the local Rose festival and we were treated to a fabulous firework display. I only wish our stay could have been longer. If you need a relaxing few days away, this is the place for you!

That we only stayed for two nights

Spacious room. A fantastic view down the lake from both our room and the restaurant Large grassy lawns around the hotel. The back of the hotel is on the edge of town so there are fields behind too. Good breakfasts with a great view. Really quiet - with lots of birdsong

it’s expensive compared to other countries. Reasonable for Switzerland. There is no air conditioning and I think the room would get very hot in a heatwave, as the ceiling is quite low.

The location was so quiet and great views of the lake The staff were excellent and very friendly The evening meal was outstanding for quality and taste best beef I have had ... Breakfast and service was always top

Shame the resturant was closed on the Monday...as would have happily eaten again our secound night ..

Breakfast was really good. We also had a beautiful view on the lake. Our room was very nice, good beds and a lot of storage. View of the balcony on the lake. So also nice. A nice bathroom. So all together a good experience. We would recommend this hotel to others.

We would have liked to have a second sittingchair. There was only one.

The staff in the reception area is very accommodating we arrive late in the hotel because we came all the way from Rome last night but they let us waiting.We are happy and satisfied with the hotel and all the staff they are friend and very accommodating.

Awesome location, ambience, staff and views..but room was small and hot in the afternoons but Mrs Zimmerman gave us a fan so that worked well.. loved how friendly and helpful the staff was from Mr & Mrs Zimmerman down!!

Our daughter's room was really amazing, with a very big balcony and a beautiful view! The breakfast was very good!

Our room was somewhat too small (even for a couple). In addition, there is no AC in the rooms, and this is quite a problem in the hot weather.

Great terrace

The room that we had was a little old, no refrigerator, no coffee maker but the wonderful terrace with a great view on the lake made up for it.
