The Walliserhof is an old-style Swiss family hotel quite near the train station (c 250m) on the main high street. V central and a convenient location within Zermatt. The room size was good (but not lavish) and met all expectations. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, pretty standard fare. There is also a top-end restaurant onsite (for dinner).
We are big fans of Zermatt (we have been about 15 times, mostly skiing but also walking) and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and our walking holiday in the beautiful countryside nearby. This comment relates as much to Zermatt town as the hotel and it is not so much a 'dislike' as a note of caution - they will have to get their prices under control. Business appeared to be booming after two years of C-19 pandemic but prices within Zermatt as a whole appeared astronomical this year. The CHF exchange rate does not help.

Charming hotel in the heart of Zermatt, minutes away from the train station. The hotel restaurant is one of the longest running in the village. Very spacious and nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds. Each room had a balcony. There is elevator access to the rooms. We were able to take our breakfasts to go as we had a 7 am train to catch the next day. We had to order them the night before and they were brought up to our rooms.
We didn't have towels in our bathrooms, so we had to go down to ask for a couple of them at the reception.

I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in « Tradition Room » (No. 32) from 5-8 March. The hotel is located just a few hundred metres from the train station. The lady on Reception who checked us in was very friendly and extremely efficient. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with a balcony and had a view of the Matterhorn popping up over the other mountains. The bathroom was very spacious and spotlessly cleaned by housekeeping. Lots of space to hang your clothes. The breakfast was a good hot/cold buffet. The spa had a sauna, steam room (the steam room unfortunately didn’t seem to be working the day we used it) and two individual jacuzzis. At the front of the hotel there is a lovely outside terrace to sit and people watch on the main drag. There is also a good hotel restaurant.
Nothing - everything was great !

We loved our stay here. Breakfast was great and filling with a complete, fresh buffet style breakfast. Dinner and dessert at the hotel was great. We had wine and chocolate fondue and the truffle dessert and loved it all. The bath in our room in the upstairs loft was so nice. The water got plenty hot and made for the perfect wind down after skiing. The ski room downstairs made it easy for us to store our skis and equipment too. Location was also great and right in the center of Zermatt.
WiFi in the room was awful and nonexistent. On day #1, the room felt cold, but eventually got warmer. The separated beds brought together into one larger bed made for a larger than normal crack/separation between the beds. However, the beds were still very comfortable individually.

It was a pleasant surprise after a long train journey to reach this hotel. We loved the way they took care of our child with a baby cot. The amenities in the room were perfect and we even had other amenity requests which they happily assisted us with. The rooms were nicely soundproof however, during the summers, the room temperature is not controlled. We left our mobile charger in the room after check out and they helped us to send it back to us back to our home in Thailand. It was delivered in perfect condition.
They have a famous restaurant outside the hotel which was good except for the restaurant manager who was very rude to us. However, he behaved nicely on the tables with high spenders.

The Walliserhof is located in an excellent location about 150m up from the railway station on the main drag. The hotel has old-world charm and the rooms are full of character. The food was excellent both for breakfast (we did B&B) but also the food in the hotel's restaurant is of Swiss character and excellent. The staff, in all areas, are helpful and first-class.
No complaints about the hotel, we have stayed on several occasions over the years and love it. General comment though about Zermatt (and indeed Switzerland) the exchange rate is now a bit of a killer!

Location! A couple blocks from the train station on the main street (no cars in Zermatt!). Traditional Swiss ambiance but with recently updated bathrooms. Great breakfast. Carved wood everywhere. Porch and inside dining for lunch and dinner with delicious food and a daily lunch special. Easy walk to both ends of town. Quiet room. Loved the "library door".
The ceiling in the bedroom was lower than usual but not uncommon for an older building. While I had no difficulty, my 6 foot 2 husband could not stand up in the tub/shower combo to shower without hitting the ceiling as the tub was raised on a boxed in area in the bathroom. There is a single, old fashioned key to the room that gets hung up at reception when you are out. I had mixed feelings about that easy access to the keys but liked not carrying a key around. The main floor had many security cameras

Perfect location and comfortable rooms.
Everything was good, but the breakfast was a letdown! I understand that everything is cooked at the hotel - including the bread - but hotel cook does not know how to bake! Maybe, buy some bread from bakery down the road until the cook is learning/experimenting with the ratios. Even otherwise, the breakfast was very limited- I just remember making and eating waffles for 2 days i had bf there.

I seldom give any reviews unless it is worthy. And I have stayed at so many hotels of any sizes. This place is by far the best of the best hotels in the way of impeccable cleanliness, above beyond customers service and the authenticity of caring. The hotel has very beautiful decors that are put together with love and passion. Beautifully designed throughout the entire hotel. It is such a wonderful pleasure of staying at the Hotel Walliserhof in Zermatt. Fully recommended! Keep up the good work team WALLISERHOF 👏

This small boutique hotel is on the old fashioned side but it gives us a very traditional Swiss feel. Our Village Suite was spacious and clean. All the staff we dealt with were so helpful and courteous and made us felt very welcomed. The staff were very attentive to details and though request was last minute, helped us arrange a small birthday 'apple pie cake' for our Dad who celebrated his 80th birthday during the stay. Breakfast spread is good. Location is the best for us as it was right on the main street of the village.
The village suite could accommodate up to 5 pax but there was only 1 bathroom and It would be nice if there was a door to the second room in the suite too.
