The breakfast was great, with a wide selection and the bonus was the omelet bar. The location was central to what we wanted to accomplish...visiting the Cologne Christmas markets, and using the public transportation.

The wi-fi seemed spotty and we were better off not using it to retrieve the information we wanted. I realize the reception desks are always busy, but right at the end, after my wife was waiting to check out and then by-passed by another customer, she went to the desk and was told by the receptionist that her counterpart would assist her at the other desk.

My first room was for two and had nice space and open. Definitely larger than a room for one.

I had to take a room for one for my last night (changed rooms). Things overall just didn't work as well. It was on the sun side of the hotel, hot and the AC was not set to work correctly so it was miserably hot until after two trips to the front desk finally they sent someone to check it. He made adjustments to the thermostat and then it finally cooled down in the room. It seems it would have been better to have appropriate instruction in the room on how to set the AC temperature, etc.

Correct response from staff which is to be expected from a high quality hotel. Well done! The hotel staff are to be congtratulated for reacting properly to some complaints. When we left the hotel, we took taxis provided by the concierge, who had indicated the price of the taxis. We were overcharged significantly when reaching our destinations. The hotel responded by returning 50 euros which we appreciate. Additionally, we had left behind an item in one of the rooms. The hotel staff once again responded correctly sending us the missing item via secure express mail at the hotel's expense.

Telephone response time needs to be improved.

This was our third stay. We always come back to Steingenberger Hotel Koeln because of the following features: + Spacious room and comfortable bed + Amazing view of the beloved Dome (not too close and not too far, just the way we like it) + Sense of security and professionalism + Hospitality (Thank you as always!) + Great location at Rudolfplatz

Compared to our previous stays... - Pillows were way too soft and airy this time - Quite long line and longer waiting time at check-in (there was only one gentleman at the check-in desk... wish there were more staff to help because check-in is one of the key elements that would shape the hotel's first impression)

We truly enjoyed this location and wish we could have visited longer. It is very close to many, varied options for shopping and dining (short walking distance), and we were lucky to get a room overlooking the city skyline with the river in the background. This was the largest hotel room we have ever encountered when traveling in Europe, and it boasted the best bathroom facility. Despite being located near a heavily trafficked road, the room was quiet and a welcome retreat after a long day. The bed was large and comfortable, and the decor was simple and relaxing. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful with options to suit our different needs/palates.

The only thing we disliked was not having more time to spend here. It is likely that with more time we would have appreciated having a kitchenette, or in-room microwave and refrigerator, but that was not something we were looking for in this stay.

Location was excellent including parking possibilities right at the hotel (although somewhat expensive if you already stay overnight). The hotel was very helpful in changing our room when we realized we had booked a room with 2 beds instead of 1. Although the room was facing towards the street, the noise level did not keep us up at night. The gym was excellent!

The price of the parking was a bit steep, when staying overnight it was 25 EUR independent of the amount of time the car was parked... e.g. same price from 6pm-8am vs. whole day.

-The location of the hotel is in the heart of the center, and its location is strategic, and everything is close to you, and you do not need a car. - The staff is smiling and helpful and strives to serve you, and special thanks to Brother Maher for his good handling and quick response to make visitors comfortable. The cleanliness and quietness of the hotel.

-I hope that you will work on strengthening the Wi-Fi service, because it is very weak and is always interrupted. I have a special request to solve the problem of Wi-Fi and its weakness.

The attitude was great and the room is wonderful.

When I arrived it was freezing in the room (the temperature outside was about 4 degrees, one of the windows was slightly open and the conditioner wasn't set to the hearing mode. The staff member came and helped me with it, but the temperature stayed around 17-18 degrees for several hours, it is only in the middle of the night that it got above 20. But on the following days everything was perfect: the moment I arrived back in my room, it was quite hot there.

This is the second time staying in the hotel, and it was just as good as the first time, staff were friendly breakfast was exceptional. The room was comfortable, heating worked as it should. The Fitness center was well equipped and wasn't busy. Location was great close to shops, bars, restaurants. Again I repeat the Croatian guy at the eggs station is very pleasant and most happiest person, great in the mornings.

Would be nice if the restaurant was opened for evening dinner especially in the winter time, but there are plenty of places for food closeby. Other than that everything was perfect.

Room was very spacious and we got a view on 8th Floor Room 831 of cathedral spire and other city landmarks. Breakfast buffet was very comprehensive, Lots of choice and eggs, omelettes made to order. Good coffee also and very attentive staff. Only small criticism would be the choice of pastries could be better. Loved the complementary coffee in lobby also and popcorn in the evenings, really nice touch!

Room Air con continually reset itself to ambient temperature. Also mini bar was not working
