The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was in an annex and was on the ground floor and dog friendly and quite spacious, the bed was large and comfortable and the bedroom was warm enough as the evenings were quite cold. One of the best features were the breakfasts which were freshly cooked with good ingredients and choice. The bar was quite comfortable and was a bit lively at times. The location was near the pretty town of Ashbourne and close to many tourist attractions

The hotel had a pre-ordering system for breakfast but sometimes still didn't get it right. Evening meals were quite reasonably priced but were a bit variable at times

We went to Bentley Brook as a base to visit Alton Towers and it was an excellent choice. Being a pub with accommodation and food it had everything we needed after a hard day on rides 😀. The food was excellent both in taste and quantity and was good value for money - we ate in the evening and for breakfast and didn’t need lunch! The room was nice - a good size bed, was very clean and had a good view over the beautiful garden. The staff were very helpful and the pub had a book with local walks which they were happy to talk you through. After Alton we visited Dovedale which was fabulous.

The selection of white wine was a bit limited (I prefer old world and most of their choices were new world) but this was offset by an excellent range of gins and tonics.

Excellent hotel, excellent efficient staff, obviously very well trained.. friendly but detached Good food. One time they gave me the wrong specials menu , but refused to take the extra payment when they realised their mistake. I hardly know Derbyshire: the surrounding countryside is beautiful, and such contrasting landscapes close by...driving down the main A515 over the tops gives wide ranging views, but winding round the side roads to the west there are very steep sided valleys and odd abrupt hills

Unfortunately the location of the hotel made it difficult to walk or cycle out from the hotel because of the heavy lorry traffic. No real problem as there is so much interesting countryside a short drive away

I wide range of food, well presented and well-cooked. Room very comfortable and they altered room bookings so that all our family (two bookings) were in the two rooms in the extension - very convenient. Location was chosen to be near the Tissington Trail.

There was nothing I did't like. I am not used to hotel prices so can't really say if it was excellent value for money! It seemed not cheap but was very good indeed, so fine for the price.

This was my first time going away on my own since the death of my husband & I couldn't have picked a better place as all of the staff couldn't do enough for me & were extremely helpful as I also took my dog & would help me with drinks etc. The food was lovely & cooked to order. I was made to feel extremely comfortable & looked after. Thanks You

A few more comfy seats in the bar area would have been better than the tables & chairs

We booked last minute 2 double rooms as our daughter was competing at the Ashbourne show , we booked a table for last sitting . Quick and efficient check in and warm welcome from all the staff who knew we had travelled a long way felt very at home straight away . Food was absolutely exceptional as was the service . Rooms really lovely traditional rooms as you would expect with a beautiful building of this age and beds were really comfortable. We had to leave at 7am and had a super breakfast pack up left out for us . Everything from start to finish was exceptional. I am also a booking.com host and would highly recommend this accommodation and restaurant and would definitely return . Thank you to all the team who were all excellent . I will also mention the beautiful setting it is absolutely stunning .

Nothing it was perfect and very relaxing

Booking in was quick & friendly & we were shown to our room. Our room was a good size, extremely clean & nicely & cosily decorated, comfy large bed with good pillows, bedding etc. Good size tv. Coffee/ tea making tray. Bathroom was bright & roomy, again, extremely clean, shower over bath. Nice, soft towels. Breakfast choice was very good, freshly cooked & delicious. Served by friendly, smiling staff who looked after us well.

We didn’t like the shower over the bath but that is a personal view & this was the only room available when booking. No hand rail on the wall to assist getting in & out of the bath safely.

Location was great for visiting the Southern Peak District. Lovely old 'quirky building. Comfortable, but small room.

Sunday night restaurant experience was 'strange' as we were there at 7pm and the restaurant last orders were at 7.30 and we were their by ourselves! Breakfast was good, but bacon was over-cooked. Location was close to a busy 'main road' so it was quite noisy (with a window open) from about 6am.

We recently stayed at the Bentley Brook Inn and had a very pleasant experience. The room was a good size, providing ample space and comfort. We enjoyed the Sunday carvery, which was delicious, and the breakfast the next day was equally good. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return. Good car parking with plenty of room.

Breakfast was spot on, couldn't fault it. The staff were so polite and accompanying, they waited on you the whole stay. Making sure everything was ok. I left a request justbtk ask if I could give the kitchen a birthday cake to bring out and we went to the restaurant and they had decorated the whole table for us, it made the evening that little more special, as this wasn't asked of them The location is absolutely stunning! And we had young toddlers with us, they were never bored, lots of space to run around and the park was there too.

The showers take a really really long time to get hot, to a point I didn't think they had hot water. Until we just left it on to see.
