I've often seen hotels on clifftops and thought how I'd love to stay in one. Well staying in the North Cliff Hotel exceeded my expectations, the views were wonderful, and we were there on a wet February day, it was just so dramatic I could have sat and looked at the view all day, especially as inside was so cosy and warm. The team were lovely, and we got the chance to look at the penthouse room ( which we are hoping to come back and visit) and finally the breakfast and breakfast room were a great way to top it all off, very attentive and friendly service, lovely food and once again a fantastic view. What more can you ask for. Thank you for our stay, we hope to return soon!

Located right on the cliff edge the hotel is in an Ideal location! We had a dual aspect king room with sea views, and it was beautiful! (And bargain price!) The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and well-kept, staff were lovely and the breakfast was great! We loved the ‘trust bar’ where you can just write your order down and grab your drinks! It has such a lovely village feel (We used to have a trust box for eggs in our village, but people kept stealing them and the money) so it’s refreshing to know that there are still nice places around :) Also there is soooo much to do around Lynton and Lynmouth, highly recommend the valley of the rocks walk and the river trail!

This is a beautiful, well maintained hotel which is authentic to its Edwardian history. You will receive a fantastic welcome from Rebecca and Steve who work tirelessly to make sure you enjoy your stay and feel at home. We felt so rested here - it was one of the most beautiful locations with breathtaking views of the sea and coastline from the bedroom. Suki our dog received lots of attention and was made very welcome. There are rooms designed for everyone in this hotel and thanks to the lovely waitress, they serve a delicious breakfast. Enjoyed the hot shower and everything we needed. Thank you. Look forward to our next visit.

We stopped here for one night on our road trip and had a pleasant stay. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were excellent. We came during the off season and were upgraded to a room with a view for free, which was very kind of them. We also brought our pet and found it to be very pet friendly.

The location is a bit challenging to get to if you've got a larger car.

We loved everything about this property! Stunning location, with magnificent views. Central to walking tracks, villages and Cliff Railway. Steve and Rebecca were wonderful hosts and their friendliness and willingness to chat and share their knowledge of the area really added an even more positive experience to our stay. Breakfast was great with plenty of variety leaving you no chance of leaving the hotel hungry. We loved the option to be able to purchase dinner here too.

Friendly staff that went the extra distance to make our stay special. The hotel is situated well for access to the small town and the funicular down to the seafront. Breakfast provided a good selection of options and the staff went the extra mile to make sure that I had a breakfast even though I was getting up super early. The cooked breakfast items were of high quality, but sausages and bacon were consistently a little over-cooked for my liking. Restaurant food was honest home-cooked style which I cannot fault.

The wifi coverage was good within the building, but the bandwidth quickly became overwhelmed. Get up at 5am and the internet works just fine, but by 8am it's barely functioning.

The location is excellent with wide views over the channel. Staff/owner very friendly and helpful and the breakfast cooked to order was also excellent. The honesty bar is a good idea giving flexibility of use and the prices very reasonable. There is also a comfortable lounge with games, info etc.

The evening meal menu is very limited, food only OK and you need to order your meal in the afternoon. However there are restaurants only a very short walk(5 mins) away. Some of the decor is a bit dated if that worries you!

Absolutely stunning hotel in a beautiful location with spectacular views. Staff were so very welcoming and helpful during our stay. Nothing but praise for this hotel, me and my partner loved our 3 night stay. Will definitely be back!

Warm welcome, 'homely' atmosphere, great view from hotel room. When you walk a bit further down the road... the road soon becomes a spectacular coastal trail and leads to the Valley of Rocks (amazing view from the top of the rocks)! Breakfast and diner are fine, nice living room for a game of chess. To walk down to the beach and back will require some energie but there'a cable car next to the hotel with regular rides.

Old fashion bed... small even for small people like us. We had a parking place because we arrived early but I can imagine the parking being full... not easy to find another spot nearby.
