A quirky, eclectic hotel in an edgy part of town that is clearly ‘on the up’. The rooms are well appointed, with lots of thoughtful extras. The staff throughout the property are professional and friendly. A special mention to Hana on reception, effortlessly charming and a superb ambassador for this small chain.

The standard double rooms are a little small for the price point (£214 for a one night midweek stay) and generally the food prices are also on the high side. (Scrambled eggs on Sourdough £9 !!) However breakfast is freshly prepared and served to the table which comes at a cost when compared to the typical, uninspiring standard chain hotel buffet.

We had a great stay, really enjoyed this quirky hotel, good location. Very close to the shopping centre Cabot Circus & a 15-20 mins walk to the waterfront. Uber's were really easy to get there.

We ordered breakfast and waited so long, noticing customers that ordered after us getting their food, I went to ask a waiter where our order was, he said he'd check but didn't come back to us. I asked the waitress that had taken our order, she went to check with the kitchen & said out check had not gone through to the kitchen. Fine mistakes happen but we then waited another 10 minutes, still no breakfast after 40 minutes watching everyone around us eating lovely food. We had to leave without eating which was very annoying, the staff were really bad at keeping us informed and not very helpful unless your order ran smoothly. Such a shame as we loved the hotel.

We had a wonderful weekend at Artist Residence and in Bristol. Beautiful building with lots of character and we really enjoyed having a bar and lounge to relax or grab a drink before dinner. Room was absolutely beautiful and a great place to relax - lots of great toiletries, dressing gowns, very comfortable bed. All the little things had been thought of and it made our stay extra special.

It is a relatively noisy area at night (we were there on the weekend) which wasn't a problem when windows were closed but meant we couldn't really have windows open at night.

I stayed for work, and particularly enjoyed how close the walk was to the large Cabot Circus shopping mall / area. I was super grateful for a free upgrade into a superior room and enjoyed the stand alone roll top bath. The room was immaculate and beautifully furnished. Staff were so helpful as I arrived early and they facilitated a quiet spot so I could take a few calls. I would love to stay again and I absolutely can't fault it! Wonderful bathrobe, slippers and toiletries really added to the luxury feel.

Hotel was in a great location and interiors had been thoughtfully designed. Staff were very helpful, responsive and friendly. A la carte breakfast (not included) was very good. Provision of earplugs and chargers/adaptors in room was a nice touch.

Our major complaint was the price. Even our truly tiny "budget" room, barely larger than the bed itself, cost over 200GBP/night for two nights, not including breakfast. It's Bristol, not Hong Kong or NYC. To be clear, we weren't misled - they do provide square footage - we just didn't quite register, and having stayed, don't consider the cost justified.

I like the individuality of the hotel, so much nicer than a chain. The decor and style of the rooms are very unique and it felt very homely.

I had a couple of small housekeeping issues, there was a lovely overhead shower but I had to turn it off halfway through my shower as it would have overflowed as the drain wasn't running very well and the tv remote wasn't working. However, both issues were resolved well.

Evening meal was fresh, delicious, generous and served by friendly, wholesome staff who could not have made me feel more welcome, particularly appreciated as I was travelling alone. Top drawer mini bar!

Nobody to help me take my bags up to the room. A bit too quiet in the restaurant - possibly because it was midweek. Complicated (albeit pretty) curtain arrangement in the bedroom and bathroom.

Booked late in the afternoon after graduation, when we arrived the room was not ready just yet as we had booked very late. The staff were incredibly lovely and offered both myself and my partner a complimentary drink while we waited for our room. The staff were attentive and very friendly. We came down for dinner in the evening and had a really nice meal!

The heating in the room didn’t work, so it was quite cold. The TV in the room poor reception.

I loved how friendly and helpful the staff was. They stored our luggage for us before check in and after check out while we walked around Bristol. Also, the king beds are enormous and really comfortable, and the baths are spacious as well.

The TV had no streaming platforms or basically anything watchable. Also, there was horribly loud construction work next door in the morning.

The room was exceptional and has been finished to a lovely standard. The old feeling of brick and beams on display feels very cozy. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable.

We were located in a room above the bar which was busy on a Friday evening but a bit noisy when we were in bed (luckily we aren’t early risers).
