Staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, the room was clean and in a perfect location in central Bristol. It was quiet, the views of Bristol were amazing from the 6th floor! A two minute walk to Cabot Circus shopping centre and bus routes going all over Bristol and Somerset over the road were easily accessible.

This didn’t hugely impact my stay or recommendation of the hotel, but I did see a few parts of the hotel to be improved. Only one lift was working at the time and I did have to go to reception to request a new card a few times due to it not working for the lifts or my room, however staff sorted this out promptly. One of the lamps in my room did not work, there was a hole in the wall covered up by a curtain and I think that the restaurant inside the hotel was overpriced due to the size of the meals and also did not a very wide selection of food.

The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble, I had a bit of a goldilocks situation and had to move rooms three times however each room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The first room was spacious but had a tiny window, they only had a twin available for me to move to. Thankfully whilst online in there I found my IHG membership number and asked for an upgrade and was given a double room. The only cleaning issue was the windows in each room. To take in the view of the city you had to look through layers and streaks of bird poo 🙊. Other than that, and the built in electric connections on the desk, for the tv, not working everything was brilliant and I'm looking forward to returning.😊

In the second room, the twin room I was given was right in the corner of that floor, where everyone needed to pass to get to the lift or their room and their was a camera on the ceiling right outside my door. On the one hand this could have been reassuring but on the other, it felt intrusive. Also my keycard stopped working after I returned to my car to get my luggage and I had to wait outside my door, under the camera with all of my luggage, for a new key. However I appreciate not being expected to cart it all back to reception to get a replacement keycard. The dirty windows were grim, thankfully the weather was dull, grey and overcast so I wasn't missing much.

The staff stood out on our experience last night, they were all so helpful and friendly from check in to breakfast. Our children were made to feel very welcome and the extra special touches for them were very much appreciated, the treat at the bar and the colouring table went down well. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was outstanding and well exceeded my expectations, the selection and freshness was great. Omelette and pancake station was lovely.

The temperature of the room was quite warm and the AC wasn’t very responsive. The underpass at the front of the hotel was inhabited by homeless people using drugs overtly and there were piles of vomit we had to be careful of. Not ideal for families at all, I feel the hotels in the area should have some influence on this issue.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at HI Bristol City Centre. The room was clean and comfortable, food was really good and the staff, special mention to Riju and Roush (unsure of the spellings) who were all very helpful and welcoming. Location is good, close to amenities.

Our bed was really comfortable but the kids' sofa bed was quite creaky, nevertheless, they had a good sleep and really enjoyed their stay at the hotel. Also, noticed quite a few young children (not dining) running around the restaurant with, at one point, the security was stopping a little boy.

Extremely clean bedroom and bathroom, functional contemporary design, very warm and comfortable

The large shower cubicle was clearly designed by a man! Overhead rainfall shower, which would be great, except the soaps are located at the opposite end to the entry meaning you have to walk fully under the water stream to reach them - no way of doing this without getting your hair wet! Not ideal when you’re not planning to wash your hair (and given that no shower caps are provided). Also the queue to check out in the morning took ages and then we had to queue up all over again at another desk downstairs to validate our parking payment (which we’d literally just paid while checking out and which was a rather steep £20 per night), so checking out took over half an hour in total - would have been stressful if we’d been in a rush. That process should be streamlined.

The staff were very lovely and approachable, and able to help the best way they can. The location was great as it was very central to everything. The room was spacious.

The heating didn’t work, but told them about it and they got it fixed within a day of me telling them about it, they also leant me a small heater in the mean time as well as offered me a new room if I wanted to move. There is calcium build up on the taps and some off the soap holders which caused rust, and the bathtub would start draining through the inbuilt plug as soon as you start filling up the tub.

Staff were sound and very helpful. From receptionist, to waiting team, and cleaners, all were very helpful and friendly. Got pizza in the restaurant and couldn't finish it and tasted unreal. They have these little smiley faces and notes on things like the mirror in the room, the room card cover, drinks napkin in the bar etc. Felt that it all added a really nice touch.

Wasn't expecting the car park to be so expensive. 20 pound for the night. Initially thought it was included with the booking but no way to confirm through the website.

Myself, husband and 2 children recently stayed at the hotel after coming back from Lapland en route to Spain. We were met at the hotel by the concierge who was very friendly and gave us instructions to head to the second floor for reception. We were checked in by a lovely receptionist who gave us all the information we required. The receptionist kindly organised a taxi to pick us up at 0300 to take us to the airport and also a takeaway breakfast. The room was lovely and plenty of room for our 2 big cases too. We headed to the restaurant for our dinner which wasn’t really busy but it was a Thursday night. The staff were attentive and really couldn’t do enough for us. The food was exceptional, not really what I expected at all. We all really enjoyed our meal. When we checked out at 0300 we were met by the baker who had made us up sandwiches for the plane and also freshly baked pastries which were delicious. If we return to Bristol I will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Couldn’t be improved on.

Perfect rooms for families spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful free bands for the kids for ice cream. It was really hot during our stay and the air con wasn’t very cooling asked the lady on the reception if there was any fans and straight away she went and brought 2 fans up to the room so we were comfortable thank you we didn’t get your name

The only problem was the ncp next to hotel which wasn’t really the hotels fault but was a nuisance getting out.

Only two things that weren't so great: 1) the accessible room was really far along the corridor from the lift (not something you can change obviously, been fitted out that way) 2) the accessible bathroom could really use a sanitary disposal bin like you find in public toilets - disabled people often need to make use of those and it's not so great for the staff to have to deal with items that had to be bagged up individually because there was nowhere for them
