Lovely old house spacious rooms great garden good location on C2C walk. Nice breakfast

the service in restaurant was pretty ordinary had to wait 50 minutes for meal after ordering without apology and that was after the waitress had taken two orders for meals that were not available. That said when the third choice of meal finally arrived it was actually pretty good. The hotel is obviously a bit tired and in need of an up date in bathrooms etc but that didn’t effect our stay at all. If service was better would have given higher score

Breakfast variety and cooked meal is good. The staff are attentive and the service mostly good. The grounds and rooms are excellent.

Dance music was playing in the fine dining restaurant at dinner (on both evenings we dined there) (?) Does not suit the atmosphere at all. Burnt toast under my two poached eggs one morning. On two occasions, staff came to clear the table before we had finished eating (without asking if we had finished, just asked if we had enjoyed the meal). This felt rushed.

It could be a bit more clean,we had an small issue with locking and unlocking our room,lock it was not working properly,there is a nice big bathroom that fits in a nice tub and shower on the other side of bathroom,when decided to have a warm bath I discovered that there were no shower gel,no shampoos or conditioner,it was just inside the shower a small pump and next to sink a pump with hand wash,so if you don’t carry your personal stuff impossible to use that bath wich was a bit disappointed

Lovely traditional house. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and went out of her way to help with a problem we had. The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great, and the presentation was good. Service was efficient and quick. Would recommend.

Would have liked a booklet in room maybe telling us history of the house and details of breakfast times and what was on the evening dinner menu. Also where fire exits where. And maybe telling us good places to visit while in area.

We had a lovely stay, although the hotel decor is a bit tired, if you look beyond this there is some beautiful furniture and fixtures The staff are friendly and helpful and always had a Hello The food was good quality and a good choice for the evening meal The grounds are gorgeous and made for a nice walk in the evening

Breakfast is 7-9 I guess to cater for walkers and hikers but when you are on holiday this could be a bit early

The staff are all lovely, friendly and attentive, especially the lady on reception when we arrived and the new waitress at breakfast (sorry we didn't get your names!). The staff went out of their way to make our anniversary weekend special, dressing the table in the restaurant for us. The food was delicious and a good variety, with hearty portions. The bar area was comfortable and cosy and drinks were not expensive. The room was gorgeous (King Suite), very clean and comfortable. The bed was huge! All in all I would highly recommend The Ennerdale Country House Hotel.

The lock on the room door was an absolute nightmare.

Staff were outstanding and couldn't enough for especially Jackie & Amy. We were a large party and they arranged a private dining area for us all weekend meaning some of our guests could have their dogs with them and relax knowing they weren't ripping their rooms apart :) Nothing was an issue and they met our every need.

Hotel is very dated and there was some issues in various room with Including a shower door falling off and a toilet seat. Alot of poor repairs spotted around the place as the weekend went on.

We loved the location, the hotel was fantastic and comfortable and very friendly, we enjoyed the meal at the hotel restaurant a lovely atmosphere all round. It was easy to park the car each day, the room was great and cosy the bed's were so comfortable and well made, we had housekeeping each morning and they did a brilliant job, it was just a fantastic experience altogether.

Fantastic location and a wonderful quirky house. Staff were super friendly and communication leading up to stay was fantastic. Great breakfast to set us up for a day of walking and even a bath to soak tired muscles. Warm roaring fire and a bar for the evening. Great value for money, if I had one complaint it's that the intetnet was not fantastic in our room. But if that's my only complaint I can't really complain! Highly recommended and would stay again.

The hotel was a lovely place to stay we where made welcome as soon as we walked through the doors, the staff where very friendly, we had our 2 Labradors with us, nothing was too much trouble. The staff where always smiling and asking if there was anything they could do for us, very clean lovely place to relax and enjoy our long weekend. The facilities where great, beautiful grounds to walk around with our dogs.

There wasnt anything that we did not like.
