The Lismore is a really lovely guesthouse. We received a lovely, friendly welcome from Brian on arrival. Our room was really comfortable & nicely decorated, as were all the public areas. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable so we had a great night's sleep, followed by a fab breakfast the next day with a great variety of choice. We travelled by car & while there was no parking right outside we found free on-street parking approx 5 minutes walk away which was great. We'll definitely book again the next time we travel to Whitehaven.

Nothing, we had no complaints whatsoever.

Fantastic guest house. We travel a lot as we love at our workplace, and this is one of the best we gave stayed in. We live in South West Scotland and tend to head for the lakes but have never actually stayed in Whitehaven before. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Loads of history and fab restaurants. The guesthouse was super. Claire and her dad made us v welcome. Room beautiful and spotlessly clean. Water in fridge for us and lovely shower gel. Even supplied decaff tea! Breakfast was so delicious all fresh produce and roasted on the vine tomatoes! We will definitely return. We had a great weekend

Arrived early, but was allowed to check in; after the bed was made; which was great. Met the owner; very nice gentleman, lovely place, building, location and view. Breakfast was included but I didn't require it as I left early (though he left it open for me to take what I required) but also, I couldn't eat that early anyways. I was a bit hesitant to leave my bike in the backyard, which was safe/secure, and the area seems safe compared to cities in the UK lol. Nevertheless, he brought it in for me, to collect for an early morning shoot-off. The Hotel/room was clean, tidy, spacious, had all the amenities, a quaint breakfast room and more. The bathroom and shower were great, hot and powerful. The room had 2 single beds, a mini-fridge, a tv, a fan, a hairdryer and the usual. The location is 5 mins from the seafront, big Tesco's and the high street and 10 mins or so from the train station. Would definitively stop again.

Nitpicking but those coffee machines are a pain in the arse lol. I don't drink coffee but had some green tea on me, and took a while to figure out. Though I understand why it's there, you can't beat a good ol' kettle.

Beautifully decorated and charming room with a fabulous view of the sea and sunset. Great bathroom and separate loo. Spare duvets in the cupboard. Loved that! Brian extremely helpful when I ran into difficulties. Lovely breakfast in beautiful breakfast room with views of the sea. Everything clean and new looking. Decor really tasteful and classy. Loved this place!

Really don't like the Tassimo coffee maker as a replacement for a kettle in the room. Being more of a tea drinker it was hard to understand how to make it work without more instructions and even knowing that was quite a faff to make it work in order get a little bit of hot water for tea. Or to put a 'hot drop' in a cup of tea.

We had travelled with 3 bikes and there was plenty of safe space inside the property (they were undercover and behind a locked gate) to store them overnight. You could also put your own lock on them too. The rooms were spacious and in excellent condition! The shower was great. The breakfast was phenomenal as well, with cereal, a full cooked breakfast, juices, tea, coffee and fruit all included. The hosts were brilliant. Very friendly and welcoming.

I don't think there was anything that wasn't perfect!

We were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was hearty and very well prepared. The room was quiet with pleasant views overlooking the harbour area. We had easy access on foot to the harbour and restaurants in the town.

We were totally happy with the accommodation. The room was very homely and was just what we needed for our four day break. It was very clean and we were impressed that our towels were changed daily.

it was clean, fresh and modern. The room was spacious for 2 adults and a child and everything was well thought out. Brian was a big hit with my grandson as he was really kind and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and of a high standard.

The surrounding area was a bit unsettling. We walked to an abandoned bit of land to park our car, as the hill near the property was a bit precarious, and the area was run down and unloved. We didn’t feel safe being out and it was only 9pm. As it was SO hot when we stayed it would have been easier to get a comfortable nights sleep if we could have opened more than 1 window - or there was more than 1 small fan in the room.

Everything was perfect, the room was beautiful, spotless and with a sea view, nice and warm, very comfortable sleep. My room had private bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet. I was in the Triple room with external bathroom, all is actually within the suite, so totally private and accessible only from within the room. Room also has a real coffee machine a mini fridge and phone chargers. Breakfast was great and really lovely hosts. Location very good, restaurants, supermarket, shops, train station and marina are all just a 5-10 minutes walk. Lovely coastal walk path to St Bees with beautiful views starts in the marina. Free carpark in the next road only 2 min walk and it’s possible to park in front of the guest house to check in and load/unload stuff before driving to the car park. I will be recommending this guest house to friends and will be going back myself.

There was nothing at all to not like.

The house is so lovely and it is close to town centre. Only 5 minutes to walk and see the lovely panorama. The property does not have a car parking area but you can find car parking areas close to the property using the maps app. We were welcomed by Brian, who is a friendly lad and explains everything so well. This accomodation deserves 5 stars+. You will not regret staying here as you'll enjoy it! 💙 The breakfast it is so delicious😉.

I really liked my King room and the en suite shower room and views of the harbour. The bed was nice and comfortable and I liked the fact it had a coffee machine and mini fridge. It was nicely decorated and had an ornate fire place with ornaments on top. I didn't stay for breakfast. I would definitely stay at Lismore Guest House again and will book again very soon. I was greeted at the front door by Alan, my apologies if I got your name wrong. I was made to feel welcome and he kindly showed me to my room.

There's nothing I didn't like about my room or stay. The only thing is that I checked out without having any breakfast but that wasn't anybody's fault. I would make sure I had some next time I stay.
