We were informed that there was a problem with the central heating but when we arrived it was warm and welcoming. the receptionist was very cheerful and helpful and explained that there was evening entertainment that night. The rooms were functional and warm but lacked a little maintenance TLC. The evening meal was tasty, filling and the service was prompt and cheerful. Breakfast was at the time we requested and used locally sourced ingredients, very tasty but maybe lacking beans for a Full breakfast.

The temporary lack of heating and a few more guests would have created a slightly better atmosphere, this was probably due to people being informed of the heating problem. The change of menu meant that our favorite, Kedgeree, was no longer on offer.

This is our third visit to the Annandale arms hotel so we obviously like it. We like the location in the middle of town and close to the M74. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is good secure parking at the rear of the hotel. We love the small cosy bar and the music nights are exceptional, like having acoustic musicians in your living room. What makes this hotel is the warm welcome and really friendly staff who work so hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. We will be back again soon.

Everything was as we expected it.

On our first visit on the 21st May, the owner / manager arranged for a diiferent room for us on a lower level when she saw that I had mobility problems and the alternative room was ready very promptly. The beds were very comfortable and the cooked breakfast was freshly prepared i.e. not a buffet style. The coffee at breakfast was served in a cafetiere and was excellent!

The toast that was served at breakfast could have been nicer. I think it was just prepared using sliced bread.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.

Sadly the hotel is getting rather dated in its decor and furnishings. The beds are small doubles but both the rooms we stayed in could easily accommodate a king-size bed. Breakfast is good but there's no fresh fruit or yogurt on offer to go with the creals or porridge (very salty!)

Good food, staff keen to please, good service, very nice meal in evening and breakfast. Very clean. Nice room. Easy parking and close to where we wanted to visit. Pity about the wet Saturday! Quiet at night so good sleep.

Slight delay in service for evening meal but difficult to know how many guests in advance. Traditional hotel as opposed to modern but fine for us. Would return.

Very friendly and helpful staff, central location, good car parking available and the included breakfast very acceptable.

We thought the bedrooms and bathrooms were a little tired, perfectly clean but just a little in need of an upgrade.

Excellent Loch Fynne Kippers. Poachers pie excellent. Heating put on when requested as it was quite cold! Charging for EV car 5 minutes walk away. Only one machine in working order. 4 more recently installed but not in service at the time.

The staff were brilliant especially the lady checking us in who was also running the bar, running dinner service. The food was exceptional. Fish batter was the lightest and best i have EVER had!! Porridge in the morning was delicious

The only thing was exterior was a bit run down. Flags a bit old. But internally great!

Breakfast and main meals excellent. Staff excellent, friendly, welcoming and obliging.

Main areas warm and welcoming but rooms could with a little updating. Suitcase stand in the room would be good.

The breakfast was a standard cooked one but was well prepared and was tasty. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The hotel interior was clean and in a good state of décor. The bedroom was of a good size and was comfortable.

The outside of the hotel needed a lick of paint and would have then matched the interior. Other than that, no further issues.
